Limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing of this album from the classic rock band. Released in 1987, Permanent Vacation marked a turning point in the band's career. Here the band worked alongside professional songwriters to craft an album chock full of hits that charted in the Top 20. This came at the suggestion of executive John Kalodner. He also pushed the band to work with producer Bruce Fairbairn, who remained with them for another two albums. It was also the first Aerosmith album to be promoted by heavy music video airplay on MTV. Though Done with Mirrors was intended to mark Aerosmith's comeback, Permanent Vacation is often considered their true comeback, as it was the band's first truly popular album since their reunion. Tracks like 'Rag Doll', 'Dude (Looks like a Lady)', and 'Angel' helped Permanent Vacation become the band's greatest success in a decade.

Following much anticipated live dates and the fourth instalment of their Switched On series in 2021, the unparalleled Stereolab return with yet another helping of rare and unreleased material. The fifth volume in the series compiles out of print records and obscure tracks from limited splits and singles spanning from the band’s beginnings with the 1992 Low Fi EP to some of their more recently released material in 2008 with Chemical Chords bonus tracks.

Pulse Of The Early Brain is a rollercoaster ride through Stereolab’s career, showcasing a variety of musical moods from noisy drones through playful pop to amorphous acid jazz. The albums kicks off with two Nurse With Wound collaborations running ten and twenty minutes apiece: ‘Simple Headphone Mind’ chugs along to rebounding delicate guitar plucks and steely vocal musings, while ‘Trippin’ With The Birds’ is an extended cut with slow as molasses mind-altering manipulations. ‘Robot Riot’ picks up the pace, strumming brightly into the colourful krautrock tune ‘Spool Of Collusion’.

The mood switches once more on ‘Symbolic Logic Of Now!’, a sound salad of bit-crushed blips, crashing drums, and explosive horns that play into the album’s wide reaching selection of tracks. Stereolab’s sonic explorations are documented in full force, from flitting reversed sounds to churning guitars, to the emotional performance on the grand and energetic live version of ‘Cybele’s Reverie’. Also included is a rare find in Autechre's 1998 rework of a track from Dots And Loops, which sees the duo twisting the once pristine vocals into the corroded output of dying android launched into a network of mangled breaks.

Love Battery were one of the most original bands to come out of the Seattle "grunge" scene, and one of a kind when it comes to alternative rock bands. Confusion Au Go Go is their the final studio album, originally released in 1998 on C/Z Records (Seattle), then only on CD format. Now it is finally released on vinyl and it has been remastered by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden_) in order to get the purest sound. A compilation to celebrate the release of the brand-new book - "To Ease My Troubled Mind: The Authorised Unauthorised History of Billy Childish" written by Ted Kessler. When the idea for the book was mooted Billy wanted to put a succinct double album compilation together to summarise his 47 years of making music. This is the result. My name is William Ivy Loveday, aka Steve Hamper, aka Guy Hamper, aka Jack Ketch, aka Billy Childish. I was born on the Medway, Kent, where I still live. I left school in 1976 when I was 16. Because I have no qualifications I was turned down by art school so went to work in Chatham dockyard as an apprentice stonemason. I later managed to get onto a painting course at St. Martin's School of Art on the basis of my paintings. Me, Bruce, big Russ, and little Russ formed The Pop Rivets in 1977 and made our first recordings. Our inspiration was punk rock, TV21 and The Swinging Blue Jeans. I learned to play guitar then in 1979 I worked for four weeks at Oakwood Mental Hospital as a ward porter, then me, Mick and Bertie formed The Milkshakes. Our inspiration was Link Wray, the Beatles Live at the Star Club LP, the track 'Gotta Get the First Plane Home' by The Kinks and our hatred of new romanticism. Then I was expelled from St. Martin's School of Art for writing what was described as "the worst type of toilet wall humour." I beat my father up on his release from prison for drug smuggling. We never paid ourselves in The Milkshakes and put all the money back into making our own records. I kept the money in a bank account under the name of Kurt Schwitters. I lived on the dole for 12 years. In 1985 we formed Thee Mighty Caesars. Our inspiration was Bo Diddley and The Troggs. I became a member of Greenpeace. In 1989 me and Bruce formed Thee Headcoats. Our inspiration being Son House and Downliners Sect. In 1999 me, Wolf and Johnny Barker formed The Buff Medways. The term was famously employed by The Downliners Sect on the intro to their top tune 'Leader of The Sect'.Q: This album originally came out on Sub Pop Records in 1990. The label was known for US grunge at the time, how come they ended up working with a Medway garage 'n' racket group?A: We prefer the term "Maximum Drums and Racket". It all came about because a young Steve Turner, of Mudhoney fame, when a young lad visiting England with his father, happened across Thee Mighty Caesars playing at The Cricketers Public House at the Oval. Fast forward five years and he is telling the Seattle Grunge mob all about how great we are. We were then invited to play with Mudhoney on their first Sub Pop jaunt in the UK. Bruce Pavitt, the Sub Pop visionary, saw our mass appeal and asked if we'd knock out an LP for Sub Pop. He also asked me to sign a contract. I replied - "what's a contract, can you eat it?" By this good chance we still owned the LP.Q: You recorded the album at Red Studios in Wouldham, near Rochester in Kent. Formed in the Fall of 1991 by Brandon Capps (guitar & vocals), Kimber Lanning (drums), and Tim Patterson (bass), HALF STRING created a lush, guitar-driven brand of noise pop. Their sound was an antidote to the "desert jangle" bar band scene that dominated Tempe, Arizona at the time. While the group shared an aesthetic with much of the British shoegaze scene, and occasionally recalled the spirit of early 4AD and Factory Records, they certainly carved out a beautiful noise of their own. During their austere six-year life, half string inspired an underground music scene in their hometown, and gained a small but loyal following from beyond the desert. HALF STRING's first demo was hand delivered to Independent Project Records' Bruce Licher during the summer of 1992. Impressed, Licher released the three songs as the Eclipse 7" single on his revered post-punk fine art imprint. Matt Kruse joined on second guitar in 1993, adding another layer of texture andintricate melody to the band's broadening sound. This was evident on "Oval", HALF STRING's second single, and the subsequent "Tripped Up Breathing" EP, both released by IPR in 1994. Patterson left the band that winter, and was replaced by Dave Rogers, a multi-instrumentalist who added backing vocals. In 1995, Germany's Pop Goes On...

Sean Huber, best known as the drummer of the beloved & defunct band Modern Baseball, has been releasing music with his band Steady Hands since 2013. Back for the first time since 2018 with new album "Cheap Fiction," Huber pays homage to all of the deities you'd expect someone with a New Jersey birth certificate and a dog named Bruce to worship, with rollicking saxophone and piano over tales of hard-on-their-luck neighborhoods, and stadium-rock-ready guitar zaps over odes to the misrepresented people of Florida. He grapples with lapsed religion like so many with Irish names have done before him. And he fits in real nicely with the modern heroes of Philadelphia's punk scene, blending the best of heartland rock and straight-up punk with his own penchant for the tropical. Huber's lyrics tell stories of a very real world where people in power use it for evil, the people who need help don't get it, but the person at home makes life beautiful despite it all, and there are plenty of friends to commiserate with. He found inspiration in the world around him, including history and politics books. The album reflects his belief in balance and his ethos that all great comedy is based on truth.

shared via email with the subject head ''You didn't get this from me''. As it were, the public has never heard it. Neither
the time nor the place ever seemed quite right to release the track... until now. Written by maestro Jonathan Rado (of
Foxygen) and the late, great Richard Swift,Houndmouth's version of ''Talk'' picks up Bruce Springsteen in a flying
saucer and drops him off ''down on High Street'' in 1989. The jam features synth-y bass, foot-stomping drums and
fuzzy guitar riffs that linger in your head.
Accompanying the collab track is one fromHoundmouth's Shane Cody appropriately titled ''Shane's Song''. The band
slows it down then speeds it up this time for a reflective song of ''could-have'' and ''should have''. The percussion focus
here is tastefully accessorized by smooth guitar licks and Cody's falsetto. Crescendoing into a dizzying whirlwind,
''Shane's Song'' takes heartbreak and makes a beautiful sound for all to enjoy.''
''Talk of the Town'' was recorded at Vox Studios and Sonora Records in Los Angeles. ''Shane's Song'' was recorded at
Boulevard Studio in Los Angeles. Both songs were co-produced by Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado.

Taken from Skinshape’s ‘Umoja’ album with a remix from Manny Talvez & Alae Both tracks produced and recorded by Skinshape. The ‘Sua Alma’ original version was created to represent the 'diaspora' aspect of Skinshape’s ‘Umoja’ album released in 2020. Most of the album is quite Afro-centric, and for ‘Sua Alma’ he wanted to incorporate a slightly Latin feel. It’s a collaboration with D'Alma who is a Portuguese singer living in London at the time. It’s also an attempt to create something more dancefloor-orientated track. It also features a 4- part Ghanaian percussion section. The ‘Sua Alma Remix’ was remixed by friends Manny and Alae, who used to share Skinshape’s previous studio 'The Arch’. Manny was also playing percussion on some of the ‘Umoja’ album tracks and Alae has been on hand as a keyboard player for Skinshape on one or two occasions.
