Founded in 1952, Chugai Toen is a ceramics craft manufacturer located in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. The company specializes in auspicious ornaments such as Oriental zodiac ornaments, beckoning cats, hina dolls, May dolls, wind chimes, and mosquito repellent containers, as well as pottery that adds seasonal color.While many manufacturers outsource product design, Chugai Toen created an in-house system to produce high-quality items.

The features include the Kachi (victory) character written on the Kayicho, which is held in the hand, while the Indigo color is said to be the world's oldest dye, and has been used in Japan for a long time for various items such as clothing and is also known as the color of victory. The name Tanuki means "surpassing others", it's a symbol of prosperous business. By the way, Shigarakiyaki is a pottery out of Shigaraki in Kouga City in Shiga.
