We’ve also included, for your listening pleasure, a download code for the digital soundtrack. An adventure as special as Toem demands a unique approach to packaging and presentation. That’s why we enlisted artist Nuri Durr to create a photo album-inspired jacket design, and Nuri absolutely nailed it. On the outside, a humble faux-folio, complete with gold embellishments and a rustic leather-like look. And on the inside, it’s packed with — what else? — photos of all your favorite memories from the game, so you can relive them over & over as you enjoy Toem’s dulcet, peaceful music.

In a world filled with quick cash-in licensed games, Alien: Isolation was a gasp of fresh air. Its release in 2014 marked a watershed moment for what inspired and faithful adaptations could look like in video games as a medium.

With its retro-futuristic visuals, subtly haunting sound design, nail-bitingly tense gameplay, and brilliantly ahead-of-its-time AI, Creative Assembly’s masterwork presented a different sort of vent-crawling survival horror, one well-suited for the world of Weyland-Yutani.

Now, a decade later, we at iam8bit are proud to celebrate Alien: Isolation’s 10th anniversary by offering fans something never before available: The game’s legendary soundtrack, presented on high-quality vinyl. This is the Alien: Isolation Vinyl Soundtrack, a 1xLP loaded up with the very best songs from composers The Flight and Christian Henson’s famous score, pressed on Blood Green vinyl.

Keeping in line with the game’s grimy, lo-fi art design, the music of Isolation is a journey through tense corporate steel, dripping with an unforgiving atmosphere that often transports the listener right into the cold, unending expanse of outer space. It’s not all doom and gloom, though — like Amanda Ripley herself, Isolation’s music buoys forward through sheer will and unexpected moments of warm hope.

For the artwork, we tapped longtime iam8bit friend Nimit Malavia to craft a piece that captures the vast, unending terror of Alien’s world; not just terror in the wake of an unspeakable monstrosity, but terror in the realization that we are cosmically alone.

Because, after all: In space, no one can hear you scream.

The vinyl version contains twelve tracks! "Minecraft - Volume Alpha" is the work of German composer and musician Daniel Rosenfeld. Under his stage name C418, Rosenfeld created the sweeping soundtrack and vibrant sound design that brought the voxel-based universe of "Minecraft" to life. Fans and critics alike were blown away by his beatless, balanced electro pieces across the board. Popular gaming site Kotaku listed the soundtrack among its "Best Game Music" of 2011, calling the music "impressively soothing," while The Guardian compared Rosenfeld's fragile pieces of piano and minimalist ambient to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian ENO. In an interview, Polygon distilled "Volume Alpha" down to its essence: "The soundtrack is not tied to the retro aesthetic of Minecraft graphics. The soundtrack overrides them. The album is an attempt to translate the combined game/music experience into something heavenly."

Black Screen Records and Toge Productions teamed up to release Andrew Jeremy’s soothing, relaxing and jazzy lo-fi soundtrack to their coffee brewing and heart-to-heart talking simulator “Coffee Talk” on limited edition cassette tape. The soundtrack will be available mint green and bronze tapes with stunning original artwork by Natto.

By the way, welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!

Joel Baylis shares a brief insight into his vision for the soundtrack and the outcomes: “My goal when writing the music for ‘Cassette Beasts‘ was to make something that felt somewhere between a role-playing game soundtrack and an 80’s synth rock album. Despite its influences, I feel like it ended up being rather unique. It’s quite hard to pin a genre onto these tracks and the collection itself varies greatly in vibes as well as styles.”

Baylis is also enthusiastic about the physical release of the “Cassette Beasts” soundtrack on beautiful purple and mint green coloured double vinyl: “The LP contains the best of each aspect of the game’s soundtrack, thoughtfully put together to offer something that will look great in your collection, and sound great under the needle.” And while the entire game is revolving around cassettes, Black Screen Records are sure taking care of this with a limited tape edition. From Sega's "Yakuza" game series, "BAKAMITAI," the song that went viral from the "Karaoke" mini-game, will be released as a 45rpm 12" single in a wine red color vinyl to match the color of Kazuma Kiryu's shirt!! This is a standard song popular in the "Karaoke" rhythm mini-game that can be enjoyed within the "Yakuza" series. The lyrics were written by Ryosuke Horii of Sega, and the music was composed by Mitsuharu Fukuyama. After its first appearance in Yakuza 5, the song has been sung by various characters throughout the series, and is loved by many fans. It includes a total of six songs, including the Taxi Driver Edition, which is the original version of "Bakamitai," as well as an acoustic version!

Along with his game credits, Jim has also created music for everything from Burger King children's toys, to collaborations with Nasa; and has also scored numerous trailers, short films, documentaries, commercials, and television programs, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chicago Hope, and The Weekenders. His concert works have been performed in over 25 countries, with ensembles as large as 1,400 musicians, located in venues ranging from New York City's Carnegie Hall to the Great Wall of China.

Wes Keltner Bio: Wes Keltner is the CEO and Studio Director at Gun Interactive. He has been a part of the video game industry since 2005 and consulted on video games including Doom, Splinter Cell, Star Wars, Madden, Skyrim, Ghost Recon and several others. With an inclination towards marketing and advertising his work has appeared in Fast Company, Forbes, The NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and Ad Age. During the pandemic he took it upon himself to learn a new musical instrument that could deliver the sound of Texas Chain Saw Massacre. He found this sound within the Apprehension Engine and he spent countless hours discovering and recording horrifying sounds that ultimately became the soundbed of the game.
