The hit song "Tiramisu Cake" by the renowned Korean indie band "We Are The Night" is being released for the first time as a 7-inch vinyl.

Originally released in 2015, the track gained renewed attention in 2018 when it appeared on the soundtrack of the drama “To. Jenny,” spreading by word of mouth. In 2022, thanks to actor Kim Sung-cheol, the star of “To. Jenny,” the song experienced another surge in popularity, becoming a trending challenge song among the MZ generation. Many K-pop artists joined the "Tiramisu Cake Challenge," propelling the track to global fame.



In response to its immense popularity, "Tiramisu Cake" is being released as part of the "K-Indies Series," an analog project by the label "Bside," which highlights top Korean artists. Boredom is the reason why I'm constantly irritated. Boredom is also the reason why I'm constantly spacing out.

Of course, boredom is also the reason why any mathematical formula, no matter how important, slips in one ear and out the other. That winter when I was 16 years old. I wanted something to destroy the saturated negative emotions. And I found it. It was undoubtedly the music of ""Yahho"".

Loud 8-bit sound and booming guitar. Screaming vocals writhing on the rough waves of that sound. In ""Extra Yahho"", the 8-bit sound is transformed into a hardcore band sound, with blast beats and screaming vocals exploding. What follows are unique raps and acoustic pop masterpieces. A fast-paced legend of 47 songs and 40 minutes. (*These comments are based on the CD version. The LP version contains 39 songs.) From the day I pressed the play button on my player, ""Yahho"" music became a part of my life.

When I listen to ""Yahho"" music, I feel the urge to scream. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. ""Ya-ho"" shouts out the boredom and frustration we've been holding inside, using it as a springboard. The poetic, yet endlessly straightforward lyrics really bring that home.

Nozawa Dive Kinshi (Niji no Tasogare) ----------------------------------------------------------- For the vinyl release of Yahho's ""How to Enjoy Yahho"", I asked people around Yahho who are close to me and have always looked after me for comments, and they all replied promptly and readily agreed, which really made me realize how charming Yahho is and how charismatic he is as an artist. *From the beginning, Yahho said he felt bad about asking for comments from everyone, so I took the initiative and did it on my own.

It wasn't easy to get to the point where we decided to release it, but I was driven by a mysterious sense of mission that even Yahho himself probably didn't want, that made me reach this project. Yahho released a CD last year and sold hundreds of copies individually without national distribution, so I took a selfish action that even he didn't want at all, in order to put him in a more interesting situation. Yahho has already established a solid position in the underground, but we approached Yahho with the idea of releasing this album with the sole desire that more people listen to their music, that they come to their live shows and get excited and laugh, and that we want them to become a part of everyone's lives.

Chinese-born singer "Rushika (る鹿)," active as a fashion model in Japan, made her debut by releasing a cover of Yura Yura Teikoku's "Kudou Desu" (Hollow). Her 3rd single, "Karada ga Shibareru Atama ga Yorokobu," released in October 2023, features an original composition by Shintaro Sakamoto and Seiichi Yamamoto, influential figures in Japan's alternative music scene. The song, a blend of catchy, danceable, and psychedelic elements, intertwines with a memorable poetic world carrying an unsettling atmosphere, bringing out Ruka's newfound charm. This 7-inch single includes versions sung in Japanese on the A-side, and B-side is a remix that features remixes by Meitei.

Akiyuki Nosaka was a Japanese novelist, singer, lyricist, and politician mainly active in 1970s~80s. He is also famous as the author of the semi-autobiographical story "Grave of the Fireflies", based on his experience under WW2 and which is well known with Studio Ghibli animation.

The debut album called "Utsu To Sou" is consistent with 4 live recordings and 7 studio recordings which are full of his cynical and humorous lyrics. One of his classic song "Virgin Blues" was covered by Jun Togawa and included in the album "Showa Kyonen" (1989 / reissued by P-vine in 2022)

xiexie, the Japanese four-piece band formed in early 2020, combines heavy influences from 00s indie rock music with Japanese vocals to create songs that are popular with a wide range of listeners and has performed at "fuji Rock Festival '22 and Synchronicity, as well as being picked up for opening act for Tommy Guerrero when he have came to play in Japan. This LP contains two digital EPs they released in 2022, and it's the first time in their career their music is available on LP vinyl.

Reiko Ike, known as "Japan's first adult film actress," is having her 1971 release reissued on clear purple vinyl. The album is notable for its "sexy jacket" artwork, a hallmark of the Japanese Groove record series. When you open the gatefold, it features photos from the Toei film ‘Modern Porno Tale: Inherited Sex Mania(現代ポルノ伝 先天性淫婦).’ Additionally, the reissue faithfully recreates the original "sexy poster," which can make a significant difference in value for collectors. The album is a sexy cover collection of Showa-era songs, featuring Masami Kawahara and the Exotic Sounds, along with Ike’s poetry and moaning. It's an album that can be enjoyed even at night!

The Flying Mimi Band, led by Izumi Kobayashi, has been re-evaluated in the city pop scene in recent years, as well as for her later work with Masayoshi Takanashi and the music for the anime Urusei Yatsura. This LP reissues the funky and groovy second and final album, released in October 1978, by the band!

This LP reissues Izumi Kobayashi's third pop solo album, released in 1983, which includes "crescent PIERCE," a tropical version of "Dansing Star," the theme song for the anime "Urusei Yatsura," and "mas QUE NADA," a funky arrangement of a bossa nova classic!

The live show "Aiyoku Jinmin Jūji Gekijō, (愛欲人民十時劇場)" held in Tokyo in 1980, is known as one of the legendary moments in Japan's avant-garde music history. The recordings made on that day were released on LP by Pinakotheca Records later that year. The madness-inspired omnibus created by artists surrounding Alchemy Records, inspired by those recordings, is this "Aiyoku Jinmin Jūnikyūdan (愛欲人民十二球団)."

Artist's names are a pun based on the names of Japanese professional baseball teams, resulting in improvised tracks by artists who were active in the underground scene of West Japan, such as Hijo-Kaidan, Sekiri, Omoide Hatoba (ex-Boredoms), and Subvert Blaze etc. Though the sound quality may not be top-notch, the collection of insane and playful songs vividly portrays the chaos of 1980s Japanese underground music, making it a valuable archival piece.

The new series "Magico," launched by P-vine, features Japanese actresses covering songs that match their respective personalities and releasing them as singles. Following the debut of Arisa Nakano (p7-6614), the second installment features Japanese actress Ruka Ishikawa, known for her work in films. Who Will You Love is the debut collaborative album from The Dengie Hundred with Gemma Blackshaw. In 2023, The Dengie Hundred co-produced with Japan Blues two albums for Demdike Stare’s DDS label, and released the solo album Tube on London’s Sagome imprint; their solo debut Brackenbank appeared on Ethbo in 2022, when they also contributed to World of Echo’s Thorn Valley compilation. Here, they collaborate with Gemma Blackshaw on an album of smudged dream pop. Gemma’s vocals were recorded from home at night on an old iPhone. Who Will You Love surfaces dark, desiring songs on the passion and exhaustion of looking after others. Emerging in simple rounds that expand with layers of field recordings, synths and drum machines, the songs include lullabies for baby boys and men, enchantments of wary lovers and spells of protection for a daughter. Moving between her children and her lover, the mother sings of the demands of daily intimacy (play with me, carry me, sing to me…) that echo through adult relationships too. Evening cinema has been attracting attention from Asia and the world as a leading artist in the Japanese pop music scene in recent years, and their brand-new 7inch is on its way!! In 2019, "summertime", a collaboration with cinnamons, triggered a huge buzz in Asian countries, and the following year he became the first Japanese artist to be selected as the official theme song of Shenzhen Fringe Festival 2020, one of the world's largest art festivals, held in Shenzhen, China. In addition to this, he has provided songs to Thai and Chinese artists, collaborated with Indonesian YouTuber Rainych Ran, and has been attracting attention and support from around the world, especially in the Asian region.

Sun, sea, and surf rock converge with dreamy hypnagogic pop on 'Dmaot,' the enchanting sophomore album by the guitar-wielding, vocal-harmonising trio, Rasco.

Named after Charlie Megira's acclaimed track "At the Rasco" and influenced by iconic artists like The Cramps, Beach Boys, Elvis, April March, and others, Rasco carefully extracts the essence and distinctive sound of sixties surf and garage bands and distils them into a modern and distinctly Mediterranean context. Blending ethereal vocal harmonies with irresistible guitar riffs, Rasco skillfully creates a one-of-a-kind sonic blueprint that sounds like something you dreamed of hearing at Twin Peaks infamous Roadhouse.

Electric guitarist Eden Atiya and bass guitar Gaya Wajsman first crossed paths in a smoky cave in Jerusalem, eventually teaming up with drummer Itay Hamudi to form Rasco. Their self-titled debut album, characterised by catchy guitar riffs entwined with mysterious, ethereal vocals, sung in Hebrew, garnered attention and playlistings from the likes of acclaimed pianist, singer, and composer Hania Rani, and Spotify’s editorial team.

Rasco’s hypnotic guitar and vocal-heavy sound have earned the group coveted opportunities to share the spotlight on stage alongside global psych bands such as Altin Gun, Boom Pam, and Messer Chups. The trio’s musical journey has taken them on tour in Germany and led to their billing on Cologne's famed c/o pop Festival, solidifying their place in the contemporary psych and surf rock scene.

'Dmaot' (Tears) represents a significant evolution from Rasco's debut, showcasing a darker, and denser side with a shift towards the shoegazing sounds of the '80s. The album, produced by multi-instrumentalist Uri Brauner Kinrot, leader of Boom Pam, pioneers of today’s resurgence in Middle Eastern surf rock and now labelmates on Batov Records, packs a heavier punch while maintaining Rasco's signature hypnotising power.

The album delves into dreamlike landscapes, capturing the essence of different scenarios. "Layla" conjures hazy night-drives into the mountains, whilst "Nahar/Rau" reflects prophecies in rivers, birds, and sand. "Suzi Suzuki" is an ode to Japan, and "Louisa" pays homage to Hamudi's Grandma. According to Eden, there's a prevalent theme of "nostalgia for something you've never experienced." Similarly, “Sleeping Sea”, hints at the omnipresent power of the sea, even at its stillest, with its brooding hammond chords and almost C&W guitar, paints memories of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Games”.

'Dmaot' also explores the dichotomy between life in the city and life in the countryside. Eden notes, "It's definitely something to define our songwriting by - the mix between electric heavier sounds and mystical, nature-inspired lyrics”.

Commencing with a chime-like guitar motif before the first heavy wave of shoegaze-like tremolo hits, “Layla” alternates with an almost Lynchian pre-chorus, whilst the song earworms its way to your brain. “Nahur Rau” almost screams “garage rock anthem” with it’s clap-accompanied beat group rhythm, and fuzz guitar riffs, but the energetic delivery is balanced by Rasco’s laidback style. It would be remiss to omit mention of the group’s incredible cover of Tears For Fears’ “Head Over Heels”, that seamlessly connects The Smiths, Julee Cruise and the B-52s, in the group’s own haunting style.

Rasco is a genre-defying trio that transcends the boundaries of surf rock and psych, creating a mesmerising blend of sound and emotion. 'Dmaot' is a testament to their evolution as artists and their ability to weave a tapestry of sonic landscapes into their own world.

Dead By Sunrise is a band fronted by Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, and included Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh from Orgy. Their only album, ""Out of Ashes"" was released in 2009 on CD and digital, and a very limited vinyl pressing in Europe.

This is the first release on vinyl in North America, and is pressed in a limited edition for RSD on Black Ice Vinyl.

Yuma Abe will release his new single "I'm falling for you / Tobokeruna" W single on an analog 7-inch vinyl on Wednesday, March 6! The songs feature exhilarating and passionate melodies that fit the old-fashioned cinematic texture and glossy resort atmosphere. He is currently touring Japan in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Kyoto, and will make his first 11-city North American tour in February.

It's not easy to classify his music with any specific music genres. Yo Irie is an absolutely unique, and talented songwriter. Not only his own works, but also participatedin corabollation works with many musicians who have a variety of music styles, from shoegaze to hip hop.

The album named "Rennai" (meaning "romance") features unique guest musicians from across the borders of musical styles. For example, Mario Caldato Jr. is known as a producer for the Beastie Boys and Jack Johnson, and Lovely Summer-chan has a strong following among listeners who prefer mainly Japanese indie rock. The participation of these artists with these very different musical styles strengthens the uniqueness of the work.

The monument of game music is finally reissued on analog records! Kentaro Haneda, a composer/arranger and pianist who boasts Japan, overdubbed a synthesizer in 1987 by playing directly by hand instead of typing. An album that transcends the boundaries of game music, composed of symphonic songs.

Local indie-legend Pia Fraus is releasing a brand-new album after a few years break. The 11-track album is called "Evening Colours" and will be released on July 28. Celebrating the 26th year together, their new album will be out on CD on July 28st and on vinyl Sept 21st. In Europe, the album will be released by Seksound. indie fans worldwide will be reached through our great new partner. "We have recently signed a new contract, so In Asia and Australia, Evening Colours will be released the legendary Japanese label P-Vine Record," says Rein Fuks. "It´s mostly known as a jazz and blues label but these times they're releasing also current indie stuff, like Hazel English and Alvvays, which is probably the most important dreampop band right now."

The album features several well-known artists; the strings on Evening Colours for example, have been arranged by by Sean O´Hagan, who is known as a member of The High Llamas, Stereolab, and Microdisney. "I am glad he took the trouble of doing our stuff," smiles Fuks. The album is designed by Scottish artist Annabel Wright, whose record sleeves and illustrations Fuks, being a big the pastel´s fan, has been admiring already from the end of 1990s.

Natsu Summer, whose name is becoming known not only in Japan but also in other Asian countries as a rare city-pop reggae singer, recorded her 2018 album with her steelpan-fuelled band Dub Sensation, which is being recorded for the first time. Kunimond Takiguchi (Streamline), who has produced almost all of her work in her career, is also involved in the production of this album. The song 'Japanese Reggae Woman', a tribute to the steelpan disco classic 'Reggae Is Here Once Again' by Steel An' Skin, and the songs by Kunimond Takiguchi, who has been responsible for producing the album since its debut, all The singer's personality is perfectly utilised and e-mura (bim ONE, Rub-a-dub Market), who mixed the album, has done an excellent job.
