She gravitated towards instruments that naturally changed or decayed over time: wooden and string instruments, voices, tape, and granular synthesis. She began recording basic layers in her home studio, and “from there it was about a year of experimenting with those recordings both at home and in a couple other studios––chopping them up into loops and smears, creating modular percussion, and ultimately building any additional parts around them."

The eagerly awaited new album SNS from Analogfish arrives on LP format via felicity Records with another collection of deeply emotive tunes and genre-hopping grooves. There’s a disco-ball fever on “Saturday Night Sky”, looping synthesizers on “Moonlight” and delicate post-punk guitar melodies on “Is It Too Late?” - all of which are tied together by the tender vocal harmonies of guitarist and bassist Akira Shimooka and Kenta Sasaki.

Analogfish formed in 1999, and their brush with the 90s made its way into their sound with clusters of the era's shoegaze and electronica written into the mix. Shimooka and Sasaki debuted on a major label in 2005 and were joined by Shuichiro Saito on drums who completed the three piece line up. Now veterans of the Japanese indie-rock scene, SNS will be their eleventh album together as a unit and continue to release and tour as energetically as ever.

Produced by Suif. It was 2017 when, chilling in the sunny Marseille in Provence, we first listened to this beat in Suif’s Studio. The French producer (Siska / Watcha Clan) had chopped a 70’s Anatolian hit and had turned it into a soul instrumental. We gently moved that diamond onto our hard disk and few months later we sent it to one of the deepest soul voices out there, known by the name of Cw Jones. Incredibly (although it seems a legend it’s actually the truth), Cw Jones connected that much with the vibe that he came up with the lyrics in complete freestyle and yes, the first take was the one! Although we have been listening to this piece for a long time now, every time we play it it’s an instant classic, and we’re so proud to be able to offer this gem to you, pressed on our most appreciated vinyl format, the 7″ inches. 50 years following the release of his self-titled first solo album McCartney, featuring Paul playing every instrument and writing and recording every song, Paul McCartney will release McCartney III on December 11th. Paul hadn’t planned to release an album in 2020, but in the isolation of 'Rockdown,' he soon found himself fleshing out some existing musical sketches and creating even more new ones. Before long an eclectic collection of spontaneous songs would become McCartney III: a stripped-back, self-produced and, quite literally, solo work marking the opening of a new decade, in the tradition of 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II. Recorded earlier this year in Sussex (UK), McCartney III is mostly built from live takes of Paul on vocals and guitar or piano, overdubbing his bass playing, drumming, etc. atop that foundation. McCartney III spans a vast and intimate range of modes and moods, from soul-searching to wistful, from playful to raucous and all points between — captured with some of the same gear from Paul’s Rude Studio used as far back as 1971 Wings sessions. And Paul's array of vintage instruments he played on the new album have an even more storied history, including Bill Black of Elvis Presley's original trio's double bass alongside Paul's own iconic Hofner violin bass, and a mellotron from Abbey Road Studios used on Beatles recordings, to name but a few. Just as McCartney’s 1970 release marked Paul’s return to basics in the wake of the biggest band break-up in musical history, and the 1980 avant-garde masterpiece McCartney II rose from the ashes of Wings, McCartney III finds Paul back on his own, turning unexpected circumstances into a personal snapshot of a timeless artist at a unique point in history.
