Founded in 1939 by Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, Blue Note Records is an iconic US company that was an outlet for lots of legendary jazz musicians. Over its 85-year history, it has been a catalyst for jazz innovation, recording legends such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, and Herbie Hancock, among many others. Also known for its distinctive graphics created by Francis Wolff and Reid Miles, Blue Note represents the perfect fusion of groundbreaking sound and graphic sophistication that ultimately created the visual identity of modern jazz.
