An expression of Japanese minimalism, the Y-3 Japan kicks are built with a polished leather upper that's so soft and supple it feels like wearing fine leather gloves. Following that inspiration, the 3 Stripes are reminiscent of the piping on leather gloves, adding a subtle and premium nod to the sportswear heritage of adidas. The profile of the Y-3 Japan is cut very low and finished with Y-3 branding on the tongue as well as Yohji Yamamoto's signature at the heel.

Once again, Y-3 presents performance sneakers in a new context, relying on Yohji Yamamoto's rebellious creativity. The basis is provided by classic silhouettes from the adidas archive. The Y-3 Takumi Sen 10 was inspired by a modern classic from the adidas archive, but Yohji Yamamoto puts his own personal stamp on the design. The gradient effects and the colorway are unmistakably Y-3; there's also revised 3 Stripes branding on one of the side walls, while Yohji Yamamoto's signature appears on the other side. The unlined open mesh upper of the Y-3 Takumi Sen 10 is directly connected to the extremely lightweight, highly cushioning and responsive Lightstrike Pro foam of the solid midsole, while the outsole made of non-slip Continental™ rubber receives maximum support from ENERGYRODS carbon reinforcements.
