Using matte, washed-out color effects, the designers were able to give a new twist to the archaic form and construction of classic runners.

Latticed patterns and powerful, opaque shades form a direct correlation to nature in the variations inspired by Functional Utopia. The shiny primary colors are complemented by metallic accents that highlight the combination of materials with the double-layer mesh. The Asics x Kiko Kostadinov Studio designs also explored the influence of Minoan ceramics on the art of design, adopting the rust-like look that is part of the Mino glaze.
