The stainless, sturdy zipper on the main compartment of the Filson Backpack Large extends down the sides of the bag for easy access to the contents; it's reinforced with thick Italian cowhide leather and is protected by a large storm flap. The two front pockets are gusseted to increase capacity and are secured by press studs on the flaps.
