The high-quality Italian cowhide used for the shoulder straps and reinforcements is very strong and durable enough for equestrian accessories - it has been slowly vegetable tanned over several weeks in natural, plant-based solutions that transform high-quality cowhides into sturdy, supple and shiny leather that will mold to the anatomical shape of the rucksack wearer for decades. The stainless, sturdy zipper on the main compartment of the Filson Backpack Large extends down the sides of the bag for easy access to the contents; it's reinforced with thick Italian cowhide leather and is protected by a large storm flap.
