Tsunemi had a passion for denim pants, which inspired him to import them directly from the United States as no denim was manufactured in Japan at that time. Used, worn-out and dirty denim which had to be laundered and mended by hand in order to sell on to his customers. In 1961 Mr. Tsunemi crafted the first pair of Edwin denim jeans; utilizing the letters D, E, N, I plus M (reversing the M creating a W), he created the brand name Edwin. By 1963 Edwin had produced the world’s heaviest ring-spun denim jeans (16 oz), featuring the famous three-color rainbow selvedge, which is still being used today. In the 1970s, Edwin were the first company in the world to develop old wash designed to replicate denim which have been worn from its rigid, unwashed state traditionally designed for workwear due to its durability. This right here is the comfort stretch version of Nudie Jeans' first ever selvage denim from legendary Japanese denim mill Kaihara. The rigid version left 'em in awe back in 2001, and thanks to its excellent aging property, it still does to this day. This version of the Nudie Jeans Grim Tim is developed to possess the same aging property but with stretch, making it comfortable and appropriate for slim fits.

"The Dry Original Selvage" has a deep indigo warp, unbleached, vintage-inspired "ecru" weft, tight construction, dry hand, and starchy crispiness. It is pure beauty in its dry state, but the most significant part of the denim is its aging property - how it evolves with wearing. To understand it, let us get a bit technical. The warp is first dyed in a dark sulfur dye and subsequently in indigo. This dyeing technique adds a deep and muted indigo blue hue that looks utterly beautiful, accompanied by the signature orange thread. It's also responsible for the denim's intriguing nuances as it ages. The denim is equipped with a slight greenish-blue hue that becomes more evident with wearing. With years of wear and some washes - as the dark denim turns lighter in tone - the greencast starts to lean towards a redcast, clear blue, hue.

Nudie Jeans recommend six months of everyday wear before the first wash, if not longer. This way, you will end up with a beautiful pair of worn-in jeans. It sure is a long time; however, it's only a recommendation. As long as you give them love, the result will be great.

The Nudie Jeans Grim Tim denim pants are equipped with the following features:

• 5-pocket denim construction
• branded button fly
• 2 front pockets plus coin pocket at wearer's right
• branded metal rivets at front pockets
• Nudie Jeans jacron faux leather label on the rear of the waistband
• 2 self-fabric patch pockets with signature wavy stitching at the rear
• Nudie Jeans woven mini label on right rear pocket
• bar-tack stitching at vital stress points
• contrast stitching
• mid waist, straight legs with small openings
• slim fit
• 98% organic cotton, 2% elastane Japanese comfort stretch selvage denim, 13.5 oz
• made in Italy

Levi's® took the brand's Summer of Love-era 505® Jeans from 1967 and recreated them for the new millennium. Unlike the 501® Original Fit Jeans, these slim-fitting jeans are equipped with a zip fly and a lower rise, plus this iconic denim design is made from pre-shrunk denim. Levi's® has even constructed the 1967 505 Jeans with a Talon zipper a.k.a. the original 1967 505 Jeans zipper, manufactured since 1893. For this faithful reproduction of the iconic, slim-fitting 1960s jeans, Levi's® worked with a Japanese artisan mill in order to meticulously recreate 1960s Levi's® pre-shrunk selvedge denim. Levi's® also built this garment from organically grown cotton, which uses no synthetic pesticides and saves water.

The Levi's® Vintage Clothing 1967 505 Jeans are equipped with the following features:

• 5-pocket denim construction
• branded front center button
• zip fly
• 2 front pockets plus coin pocket at wearer's right
• branded metal rivets at front pockets
• Levi's® two horses label on the rear of the waistband
• V-shaped back yoke
• 2 self-fabric patch pockets with tonal signature stitching at the rear, including Levi's® woven red tab label at right pocket
• bar-tack stitching at vital stress points
• contrast stitching
• regular waist, straight leg
• slim fit
• 100% organic cotton pre-shrunk selvedge denim
