After the great success of Italo Brutalo´s debutalbum „Heartware“ it was quite obvious to let some of the hottest artists around rework some of the songs. Kafkactrl, who released some great EPs on Vortex Trax took „You are welcome“ to another – his very own dimension. Moiré's rain-streaked and masterful Circuits album dropped this past September. RA's Andrew Ryce stated the eight-track album cast the shadowy producer into "a rarefied air occupied by the only the finest and most influential of ambient techno artists."

Now, in short order, the label returns with a remix EP charting out multiple hubs of oblique dance floor innovation. If there's a sonic motif on the A-side, it's vastly reactive interpretations of the "factory floor" element that inspired techno's pioneers. Matthew Herbert, a pioneering force in his own right, mixes steam engine percussion with the dreamy atmospherics of "Circuit 15" and comes up with eight minutes of cerebral machine funk. Tolouse Low Trax, meanwhile, continues his masterclass in modern motorik on his remix of "Circuit 7," integrating a chiming piano into a fascinating, perfectly-timed 110 BPM rhythm.

The B-side, meanwhile, doubles down on the oneiric nature of the original material. Workshop head and Avenue 66 alumnus Lowtec builds allows "Circuit 04"'s synths to billow into Gas-like immersive layering, sheets of melody are anchored by a restrained beat for an ambient techno track that doesn't tip the scales too far in one direction or the other. Rather, it achieves a perfect balance. Hamburg/Dial mainstay Lawrence closes things out with his version of "Circuit 18," which also concludes the original album. While the original has a wistful, Deckard's dream quality, Lawrence's version is deeply-rooted in the late-night German style; a low-slung bassline will keep dancers deeply rooted while those wistful chords sweep in like the violet before dawn.

Undesignated remixes is an expansive project containing 12 remixes of tracks from dgoHn’s iconic 2020 full-length by some choice artists from in and around the Love Love sphere. Remixes that take dgoHn’s unique razor-sharp original productions and send them through a loop and round the twist, some stripped down, some messed up, most but not all maintaining the speedier tempos that dgoHn likes to work around. The result is a collection of seriously futuristic electronic music with some stylistic leanings towards labels like braindance or drumfunk or jungle but completely genre-eluding as a whole, reshaped from the minerals of the original LP by some absolute dons of their craft.

Opening the album Equinox does a fantastic job highlighting the lushness of ‘Puppet’ layering sky-high sunshine pads before sliding into Meat Beat Manifesto’s heavy sci-fi acid dub version of ‘Daisy Takes Two’. A woozy remix of ‘Lucky Gonk’ by Macc & dgoHn marks the first new material from them as a duo since ’09 and Wisp also makes a rare appearance bringing his inimitable post-rephlexian vibes on an agonisingly wonderful, melody-heavy remix of 'Electryon'. Skee Mask’s choice of remixing ‘Robin’s Windmill’ turns the original into a bundle of writhing rhythms organically unfolding with swelling ambient tones. Homegrown heroes Rognvald & Scrase both opt for pumped up post-breakcore in unconventional time signatures while Djrum emphatically provides the LP’s dose of peak jungle choppage, tempering the drum breaks of ‘Ninnyhammer’ with a blistering amen. Also featured on the LP are crisp and beefy drum workouts courtesy of Coco Bryce and Forest Drive West, visceral and apocalyptic half-time bass from Activia Benz affiliated duo Quavis and virtuosic noir-jazz tearout from fellow East-Anglian Carl Brown.

The original track being live gives a sort of spontaneous vibe that really caught Alex ‘s attention and had the “edit / version” idea already in his head. Without the shadow of a doubt this track was perfect to be remixed by a real musician who can understand complex jazz arrangement, so Jon Dixon came up. Jon loved the track too and did his thing. On January 14, L.A.-based producer Matt "Wheez-ie" Mauldin follows up October 2021's Horizons release on Evar Records with an of-the-moment remix EP that's cathartic, riveting, uncompromising and altogether powerful. Wheez-ie gathers together an all-star cast of dancefloor iconoclasts who reinterpret his singular '90s-referential rave visions to thrilling affect â€“ this is all killer, no filler warehouse music for those who are brave enough to take the ride.

London's jungle modernist Tim Reaper reworks "Horizons" â€“ a Summer of Love-ready breakbeat epic with cinematic, near gothic overtones â€“ into an homage of sorts to early LTJ Bukem, cutting up Wheezie's melancholy synths into a twinkling fairyland that dances atop a weighty ton of chopped amens and classic jungle subs. Detroit icon DJ Stingray 313 trades in the punishing techno vibes of the original "Anon" for something equally fierce â€“ a versatile 139 bpm slab of expertly-machined industrial electro that pairs perfectly with the sample "You think you know me, you don't," which could well be a rallying cry for Wheez-ie's unexpected musical stylings.

The surprises continue on the remix of "Pressure," tackled by Evar Records label head Aura T-09 with the wildly eclectic Barcelona-based Cardopusher. The duo transform Wheez-ie's aggressive free-festival hard trance into a cheeky and modern riff on early Paul Van Dyk/TiÃ«sto/Love Parade anthems. Gossamer layers of Aura T-09's angelic vocals and tunneling Acperience arpeggios are offset by a wildfire of hacked breakbeats and Dominator synth stabs, revealing Cardopusher's rich breakcore past. Aleksandir's debut album on Omena, Skin, was both musically and conceptually, a truly personal and expressive record. Here we have three tracks from the album in glorious remix form. Tom VR has managed to carve out a unique sound with his music, released on labels such as All My Thoughts, Intergraded, Lionoil Industries and Valby Rotary. He delivers a dreamy, lucid and melodic take on 'Skin & Mind' and makes an already beautiful track almost implausibly wide-eyed. After several stunning and diverse releases, we had to get Ikonika on board to remix 'I Used To Dream'. Her take on the track is a futuristic electronic beat construction, polished with class and driven by weighty production. John Dunk launched the Cameo Blush project in 2019 with the 'Murky Waters' EP on Nick Hoppner's Touch From A Distance label and released a follow-up 'Lucky', earlier this Spring on Ross From Friends' Scarlet Tiger label. Greek electronic music platform, "π" turns seven this year and brings new features on its label catalogue. "Variable Remixes" is the first remixes EP of the Pi Electronics Various Artists series "peva". Five tracks from the debut compilation "Variable" - released in 2018 - are getting remixed by some of the label's favorite acts.

Unhuman's “Imminent Fear" gets an alternative Version by the legendary, Spanish band of Esplendor Geometrico. Damcase's "inkl Rules" is remixed by American producer Container. The untitled track of the Variable compilation, by the artist project "I am Legion, for We are many", gets reinterpreted by the Canadia duo of Rich Oddie (Orphx) and Huren as "o/h".

On the flip side, the track "gbnr17" of the label's "3.14" gets its fix by Spanish, industrial techno maestro, Geistform and Das' "Spinner" receives a special remix treatment by Athens' infamous Anfs.

Noise break-beats of different tastes on the A side, with stomping industrial beats for the club and sub-club environment on the B side.

iZem «Remixes» is the second episode of the series.

France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Ireland and finally Portugal. After a musical journey rich in miles traveled but especially in experiences, IZEM (for In Ze Early Morning) found a new creative situation in Lisbon.
In constant connection with lusophone music from South America and Africa, and after Hafa, his first album released on Soundway Records, IZEM has added the second reference to the series of MAXI 12inch EP directed by GUTS on its Pura Vida Sounds label.

First introduced into Les Fères Smith Afrobeat base camp, iZem stole “Ecolo Assiko” from them. How do we get out of here without arousing the vigilance of the Cerbers? By getting rid of his combat suit to put on another outfit: a jerky rhythmic to shake the bodies, brass jewelry and, most importantly, an irrepressible afro-tropical guitar groove. By the time Les Frères Smith find out, "Ecolo Assiko" will have burned every dance floor in his path. With one slogan: “Toujours plus loin, toujours plus fort !” (Always farther, always stronger!)

On the B-side, IZEM is focusing on Guts' newest “L’Origine du Monde”.The adventure in the brass jungle in pursuit, mutates into an atmosphere where the bass drum pulsates over all time. The female voices call for comfort, if not more, in a call and response with a flute heated by the Afro-funk groove and visibly rushed to get serious. It seems to be reciprocal.

Blitzzega is the electronic project of Bjorn Eriksson. Bjorn is a famous Antwerp composer, guitar player and lead member of bands like Maxon Blewiitt, Eriksson Delcroix (together with his wife Nathalie Delcroix, better known from female folk group Lais) and The Broken Circle Breakdown Bluegrass Band (responsible for the mighty soundtrack for the highly acclaimed movie “The Broken Circle Breakdown"). Seven extraordinary artists were invited to put their hands on the work of austrian singersongwriter Landscape Izuma and to add their particluar flavour to a song of their choice from his album Kolorit. This LP+CD features 7 remixes of Landscape Izuma's 2007 album "Kolorit" by Alec Empire, Eric D. Clark, B.Fleischmann, TNT Jackson, Jason Forrest, Massallah and DJcoy. After their digital release by Alec Empire's label "Eat Your Heart Out" the tracks are now made available on a 500 piece collectors editon by austrian label Siluh Records. This release comes in an exclusive packaging by Berlin artist Stefan Guzy and his design agency "Zwölf Medien". The unorthodox cooperation origins in TV-Show "Durch die Nacht" bei French/German TV-station ARTE broadcasted in March 2008. It was then when ARTE introduced german Actor and founder of Siluh Records Robert Stadlober and musician Alec Empire in order to follow them spending a night out in Vienna.

Remix package deluxe! Ede & Deckert feat Sargland’s catchy new wave post punk hit Immer gets the special treatment. Their tale of lover’s grief or delight is being put through the mangle by a varied bunch of remixers. Literally taking the advance party its Berlin’s Narciss with two different takes. Known to be without fear of emotional peaks and blessed with the usual sense of delight, they manage to hit the nail on its head. The Venice Remix is a master class in vintage sounds coming through new speakers: primed for the prime time, while the Salford version does exactly what the name implies: for lads and lovers.
