Anthony "Ant" Davis' production style is often regarded for its rich, textured soundscapes that blend vintage and soulful elements with a deep emotional resonance. The second installment of his instrumental series, Collection of Sounds: Vol. 2, features smooth beats, intricate sampling, and lush, jazzy layers that create an immersive atmosphere. Originally released on Fat Beats Records in 2009, El Michels Affair’s landmark album “Enter the 37th Chamber” is celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2024. Featuring reinterpretations of hip hop anthems from the Wu-Tang Clan, the album took stripped-down, raw hip hop bangers and flipped them into richly-arranged instrumentals. An innovator in the art of sampling with a history of exploring diverse source material, Oh No is now back with Good Vibes / Bad Vibes, a new instrumental album deconstructing the work of iconic vibraphonist Roy Ayers. A split collection with two thematically distinct halves, the album is entirely constructed from the early, jazz-centric realm of the Ayers archive. Good Vibes is "light and vibrant, with colorful layers radiating under the sun shine,” Oh No explains, while Bad Vibes contains “dark murky atmospheric tones for the angry moments, those times when it’s necessary to step in the mud.”

Poly Poly are back with their second album “polytheism”!

Continuing their collaboration, Hans “Hu$tle” Heusterberg & Jona “Volt Age” Raischl delve deeper into the details and layers of the fabric that makes up their common musical space.

Synthesizing and refining their musical vision over the last three years, the duo used a plethora of different instruments. Old keyboards, various string instruments, samplers as well as live drums shape the sonics of this album, resulting in a unique sound. Bluestaeb's evolution from a beatmaker to a producer is his sophmore album “Everything is Always a Process”.

He is one of the key figures of a new generation of up and coming HipHop beatmakers, who have emancipated from genre thinking and instead merge old school aesthetics with a new school attitude and organic instrumentation.

Everything Is Always A Process re-iterates Bluestaeb's overall approach to life (and thinking), but also has direct reference to the making of the album itself, which began with moving from Berlin to Paris in 2015 in the search of new influences and a new creative environment.
Created between 2015 and early 2018, EIAAP embodies the process of this transition - as well as collaboration with instrumentalists and vocalists from all over the world and recording in different studios in Paris, London & Berlin.

Influenced by Madlib's "Shades Of Blue" and trained in African drum techniques such as Djembé and Daruka, Bluestaeb had been crafting his own beats since his teenage years and gradually found his sound identity through experimenting with HipHop and Jazz – first to be heard by a broader music community in 2013, when he released his debut album "1991 Extraterrestrial" (Radio Juicy). Since then the prolific young artist has released numerous solo and collaboration projects ("B.L.U.E. Friday" in 2015 and „Sidekicks“ with S. Fidelity in 2016). In 2016, he produced collaborative album "LIT - Lost In Translation“ with rapper JuJu Rogers, a keen manifesto against racism, xenophobia and the rise of anti-heroes such as Donald Trump.

in 2000, Deltron 3030 has moved into the pantheon of greatest recordings
of all time, of any genre. Del’s Deltron Zero persona certainly has much to
do with the release’s setting in a dystopian future. But beyond that, and
beyond the great guest appearances the foundation of that setting is the
sonic landscape presented by Dan The Automator. The Instrumentals
puts the focus on the mood forged by The Automator’s soundscapes
which create a listening experience often referred to as cinematic.
Long out of print since its initial release in 2001, The Instrumentals return
housed in a unique die-cut jacket with a full color obi rounding out the
package. The result is a set that’s visual appeal compliments the rich

Demian Sky is a meticulous beatmaker, experienced musician, committed record store manager, passionate DJ as well as excessive record collector and music enthusiast. His instrumental hip-hop debut »A Kraut Tale« is a narrative sound journey on 18 tracks. The song structures, the musical concept and the overall atmosphere of the record show very clearly that his influences are not only in hip-hop, but also in psychedelic and prog rock of the 60s and 70s. There are also some references to works of DJ Shadow, Dan The Automator, Cut Chemist, Gaslamp Killer and such. It is all the more astonishing that, contrary to possible expectations, all samples come from old German Schlager and Folk music records. The result is not a loose collection of individual pieces of music, but rather a coherent album with its own dramaturgy in two chapters.

New album by pioneering German beatmaker FloFilz. On Close Distance, the lofiturned-hifi producer blends hip-hop inspired beats with contemporary jazz, alt r&b and a little rap. Featuring Alfa Mist, Blue Lab Beats, Jerome Thomas, KeepVibesNear, Summers Sons & C.Tappin, Dal & Hunter Rose. Close Distance is his fourth album for Melting Pot Music. Since 2013, the self-taught bedroom producer and classically trained violinist has sold more than 10k LPs and gained 200 million streams. Close Distance literally means “near in space or time” (or “nah dran”, as we say in German). The 16 songs on Close Distance came to life over the past two years. Many sketches were birthed at FloFilz's old home studio in Aachen. Some songs were made from scratch in London, where Flo did sessions with UK jazz supremos Alfa Mist and Blue Lab Beats at their studios. One was recorded in a kitchen in Streatham, where rap duo Summers Sons and pianist C.Tappin reside. More sessions were already in planning when lockdown kicked in and travelling was no longer an option. Around the same time, Flo was about to move from Aachen to Berlin which he eventually did in November 2020. Once installed, he started sharing beats and files out of his makeshift studio in Moabit. Beat folders were sent to London where two of our favourite new alt R&B vocalists – Jerome Thomas and KeepVibesNear – live. Another one went to Dartmoor where the jazz/hip-hop trio Dal added their magic touch while Hunter Rose processed her sultry vocals in Cape Town - 12 flying hours away from Berlin. The album artwork has been created by Indonesian illustrator Fatchurofi, who caught FloFilz's attention through his work for everybody’s favourite band Khruangbin. Taking influences from Japanese Ukiyo-e art, Fatchurofi is adding a zen-like clarity (and tranquility) that resonates very well with the album. It is no exaggeration to say that FloFilz has not only created another inspiring album with Close Distance but one that demonstrates how music can close

Krisengebeat (born 1980) is a Beatmaker, DJ, Rapper and Graffiti artist born and raised in Berlin, Germany. His strong passion & love for the Hip-Hop culture emerged in the early age instantly after hearing his big brother spinning many oldskool rap albums like "Raising Hell" by RUN DMC...

When Onyx "Bacdafucup" was released in '93 this LP had a strong influence on Krisnegebeat. Hardcore Hip-Hop along with black hoodies became his thing! In 1997 he started to drop bombs on the neighbourhood walls with chrome & black letters.

Krisengebeat experienced his first grooves by playing the real drum set back in the days. His first analog sampler / multitrack recorder was a Roland SP-808 combined with "two turntables and a mic" and some other studio gear. After trying to combine sounds for the first time on a borrowed MPC 2000XL it became his passion! He is surrounding himself with dusty drums and samples until this day!

In the early 2000's he started to record his first rap album "Nur die Besten Überleben" as a member of the German rap group Kritische Disstanz. This project was released 4 years later in collaboration with Berlin based Teroa Label by Akte One. This was also the first LP mastered by Chillerdt in the BKStudio (Berlin) and many more followed after! This collaboration tightened over the years and last until now!

One day at the beginning of the recent worldwide mix up which affected most of us, this led to a decision between moving to the studio and chill with the closest ones or just let it flow and push the pads on MPC Renaissance and start to release some instrumental music using extra free time in a productive way. That was definetely a good decision and after a plenty of motivating feedback it became the master plan to create the “ILL Vibe” instrumental LP!

With great notoriety for his reworks across SoundCloud, London native, K, Le Maestro has forged an undeniable signature sound for himself and has made his way from making beats for himself in his bedroom to having his edits widespread across the internet and garnering popularity in the outside world among DJs and music heads alike and earning his co-signs from i.e. Soulection or House Shoes. Radio Juicy presents Private Barrel Selection, the new album by Max I Million and Nocatchphraze. These two talented producers worked together internationally to bring us this collab, as Max I Million hails from Stockholm, Sweden, and Nocatchphraze is based out of Houston, Texas. The album has been in the process over the past couple years, but the two were able to find time to finalize it during lockdown.

When Ruff Draft saw its initial release in 2003, J Dilla possessed production skills on par with anyone in hip-hop – technically and creatively. “At the top of his game,” says longtime friend and collaborator, Karriem Riggins. After years of building while modestly deferring to others of both greater and lesser notoriety, Dilla finally completed the first solo endeavor on his own label, entirely on his own terms. The significance of such an autonomous success often gets overlooked, and partly accounts for why Ruff Draft is one of the lesser-referenced entries in Dilla’s oeuvre. “It’s a mysterious little project,” says his mother, Maureen Yancey. “But out of his entire career, that was the happiest time.”
Prior to recording the EP, Dilla found himself at a crossroads. Estranged from his label, MCA, and separated from the mother of his youngest daughter, frustration abounded both personally and professionally. Dilla spent parts of 2002 and 2003 working on an album for MCA that featured his rapping over contributions from other producers with whom he had connected and whose music he respected. At the time, he was known primarily for his beats, yet reviled for his MCing by most anyone not from his hometown of Detroit. The project was to be an intentional freak of the industry.
The project would go on to spur his collaborative album with Madlib, Jaylib, and would first showcase the template that he would take to his greatest heights with 2006’s Donuts. The Stones Throw reissue of Ruff Draft from 2008 featured remixes of the songs from the album, done without Dilla’s involvement. This version of the album takes Dilla’s recently discovered mixes of the album and restores his vision for the project.

In 2006, the slight buzz of a Brooklyn band called El Michels Affair started to sound a bit more like a swarm of killer bees when their instrumental rendition of Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.” was released as a 7” vinyl single. The band’s namesake Leon Michels and his production partner Jeff Silverman dropped the single on their boutique label called Truth & Soul, and it created such commotion that it would spawn an entire album of Wu-based covers. In honor of the 15th anniversary of that LP— “Enter The 37th Chamber”—the single is now getting its first vinyl repress in years. “C.R.E.A.M.” is featured on Side A, with its prominent guitars and powerful horns complementing the signature baseline and unforgettable piano hook that practically defined an era of New York hip hop. The B-side “Glaciers of Ice” offers a deeper, melancholic interpretation of the hard-driving “Cuban Linx” banger, with a mood consistent to the A-side, as the drums take a comfortable backseat to the melodic guitars and punchy horn lines. Originally from Brussels, now based in Montreal, Senz’s first approach to cutting up records was in '98 as a DJ on a pair of Technics 1200s that he shared with his best friend, one month each. Flash forward to 2020, with close to 20 years spent producing on a variety of MPC models, Senz began making beats on his phone by bringing app-based Koala Sampler into his production arsenal, opening up a whole new chamber for him. London producer SusTrapperazzi has been busy making a name for himself with productions for the likes of frequent-collaborator Novelist (inclding the pairs latest track 'Mercy'), K-Trap, Bxks & Tiny Boost, viral production videos, live sets alongside D Double E, not to mention his EP for German label Illan Tape. Here, SusTrapperazzi lands on London label Astral Black with 6-essential instrumentals in the form of his 'Rationale' EP. The sample at the top of EP opener 'Gospel Trappin' asserts the listener to "Listen to this!" before the prolific producer flips an anthemic gospel sample into a mesmorising trap instrumental. Elsehwhere on 'What's Wrong' - the producer stitches a a triumphant new jack swing sample together into a Houston-inspired pop ballad. Meanwhile on tracks like 'Through To You' & 'Gold Rain' Sus sits well and truly in his bag, fusing together all the elements of his sound into expertly crafter 808 laced trap instrumentals. SusTrapperazzi's 'Rationale' EP kicks off the labels 10 year anniversary which is set to see a string of releases ncluding a EP's from Jossy Mitsu (Rinse FM), Bruised Skies (Hoover Sounds) & NigelThreeTimes (Fractal Fantasy) as well as sample warper Eahwee's follow up to his 'Solitude' LP & a collaborative LP from prolific producer Samuel Organ & folk crooner Laucan.

"As my girlfriend’s pregnancy was steadily treading along, I settled into my home studio in the attic of our new house. In our previous apartment I had a tiny room which could hardly fit my recording gear, let alone my drums which were still sitting at my parents’ house eating dust. Now that we’d moved into a bigger place, I had confiscated a part of the top floor to build my studio. This time I had just enough space to fit my drum set together with other percussion instruments, Fender Rhodes and synths. This sparked a whole new world of creative opportunities.

At the same time I also started to think about what kind of wisdom I would want to pass on to my children. I started writing down my thoughts. Little anecdotes, ponderings and things to think about as a human being.

These two events took place in parallel and once I actually started jotting down my first compositional ideas I saw the concept right there in front of me bright as day."

Fruit Distro Collective is a project by long time friends Boris van der Hoff & Tristan Coco. Raised on sampling & Hiphop beats, schooled through Jazz composition and inspired by Afrobeat & Afro latin styles. Pour some analog tape sauce over it et voilá!

Debut album 'Some Kind Of Wisdom' is a collection of nuggets of wisdom. The concept was born when Boris was about to become a father. He started pondering what wisdom he would want to pass onto his children.

The album features several talented guest appearances. Contributions by local jazz/soul friends Rebiere (Lucas van Ee), Shamis (Misha van der Winkel) & Suula (Thimo Geijzen) as well as support by Brazilian mogul Piry Reis.

This LP has been written and recorded as inspiration to think about things and to keep re-thinking again and again to strengthen the knowledge of self.

In autumn 2019 the label Beat Art Department released Soia's third album "Where Magnolia Grows" with great success. With "Where Magnolia Grows Remixes" the album gets a new coat of paint. A handful of greats from the European hip-hop scene were won over for the remixes. L One (atp Crew, Beat Art Department) and C.O.W.? (Compost Records) from Munich, Moo Latte (U Know Me), Copenhagener by choice, from Warsaw, Franchise and MEZ, both from Vienna and Fvlcrvm from Bratislava.

Moo Latte provides the first remix of Soia’s “Where Magnolia Grows” album, and took “Fractal Spirits” for a new ride! The two Hip Hop/Neo Soul/Jazz artists first met on Soundcloud and have been sending vibes through the ether between Copenhagen and Vienna since then. The “Fractal Spirits” Remix is a first taste for their upcoming EP called “Spiritual Housekeeping".

The second “Where Magnolia Grows” Remix EP teaser re-work comes from C.O.W. ?. Running with the cows. Soia’s sound is so exceptional that the German-Chinese producer collective didn't have to think twice when asked to remix her success single Running With Wolves. This chilled but pressing version is another highlight in the collective's career…

As the third remix comes the smooth, laid back “My Tiny” Remix by Bavarian beat smith L One.

For the new remix from Soia's "Where Magnolia Grows" album, Bratislava-based house producer Fvlcrvm has taken on "Hoe For Love". Fvlcrvm made a real floor filler out of the slow jam "Hoe For Love" with a mixture of house, glitch and broken beat.

Dressed in a powder blue suit with the frilly shirt to match, DJ Yoda invites you to be his +1 for ‘Prom Nite’, his new album promising retro Americana full of daydreaming reverie, international megastar guests, trip hop acknowledging the likes of Morcheeba and Nightmares on Wax, and the turntable extraordinaire’s bread and butter of cuts, beats and rhymes. Certainly no stranger to retro sounds having famously peppered his DJ and AV sets with the unexpected the world over, and his ‘How to Cut n Paste’ mix series going all the way back to the 30s, Yoda’s harp-laden puppy love vibe spreads from the sweet and mellow sound of 2019’s ‘Home Cooking’, an album described as ‘boundary-breaking’ by Mojo upon slotting nicely into the UK’s blooming jazz canon. Since then, Breedy has been preety busy. He produced songs for Anderson Paak, Kodak Black, some german acts, scored a movie and released an LP with his Band Project Papi Churro. But he also released some instrumental music during that time. All those songs are now available on Vinyl plus some fresh material. With the help of some dope features and guest musicians such as Shuko, Mxxwll, Ruck P, B-Side, ZeDe, Flks, Papi Churro and Seb Zillner he created an adequate Second part of his Beat-Series, and gathered the who is who of the Instrumental Beat Scene on this LP.

This one has been a long time coming but we are excited to finally bring you the debut album from Joe Cain ‘Biorhythms’ Joe has been making great music for years and is better known as being one of the founding members of the cult North London production team Armed Dukes, so you may already be well aware of his ‘Calibre’ of production. With three Armed Dukes albums under their belt (with Joe contributing a large portion of the material) and a handful of production credits, this is his first full length outing a solo artist and it more than lives up to expectations. Joe’s highly crafted and intricate beats sound effortless to the ear and his unique approach to the traditional ‘boom bap’ sound sets his music apart from the rest. Joe is a purist in his approach to production, shunning many modern techniques and making everything out of the box with hardwear samplers, out board gear, vinyl and instruments. The 20 tracks on the album really showcase Joe’s diverse production styles while at the same time not straying too far off track. A sure fire album for fans of Armed Dukes and the We Stay True imprint as a whole aswell as anyone that likes well crafted instrumental beats. ‘Biorhythms’ is fantastic addition to our growing discography and will be a welcome addition to your record collection.

The newest outing is a retrofuturistic trip to the author's two biggest influences: instrumental hip-hop and… video games. The new album eschews Twardowski's previous synth-heavy style in favor of multiple layers of chopped and mended together samples, topped off by cuts from U Know Me's own jazz guitarist/turntablist Żyńy. The album invokes video games with the track titles, the LP's title being a homage to coin-ops and via the overall sound: wonky, heavily shuffled, almost-out-of-sync rhythms sounding almost as if the tracks were done sampler in one hand gamepad in the other, over a lengthy, laid back gaming/sequencing session. Maybe if a gamepad was a sampler and instrumental hip-hop was a game, "One Coin Clear" could have been its soundtrack.
