"Breaking to the Bus Stop", is a project around B.Boying, one of the four elements of Hip Hop ; a challenge can happen at any time, in the street, the subway, a bus stop... to settle scores. These songs are part of Marc-Aurèle Vecchione's Arte series "Boys & Girls Africa". Compiled by A1 Record historic sample dealer, Lord Funk, Each cover will be hand-drawn by the street artist's "Golf", 300 units limited. 2 tracks were played at the Olympics final of breaking A few more donuts such as "Perkushun", "Latin Breakdown", "Tex Mex Breaking" have been added to the cypher. Two of the songs, including the series' theme song, were composed with my DJ LC, from Légitime Processus. Strictly for hard core power moves. An authentic record to enjoy on a unique vinyl edition 300 copies tagged, numbered and signed by street artist "Golf".

Back in the 90’s, hiphop kids like myself would often gravitate towards bands like Portishead to take a break from hip hop without going on a complete vacation. Since the sampled drums were gritty and the instrumentation and singing were soulful, it gave people that familiar hiphop vibe while being completely unique.

Now, Portishead’s style and influence can be heard everywhere in modern music as a legendary group who led the way for “trip hop”, fusing hiphop, electronic, film scores, and soul music in rare form. Included in this limited run (green vinyl) 7” are Kero 1 remixes of their quintessential tracks, “Glory Box” and “Roads”. On Glory Box, Kero mashes togehter a mixture of Bossa, Amapiano and house for dance floor energy along with the previously released Roads remix on the B-side, which reached a million streams online with critical acclaim for not destroying the original but actually elevating it. On Roads, Kero adds a fuller dimension using a 80’s analog synth bass while still allowing the lead vocalist, Beth, to remain the focus. In the end, Kero hopes this remix renews interest in Portishead among listeners who aren’t familiar with an entire music genre they helped pioneer.

It's been a while, but after some significant restructuring behind the scenes, Soul Flip is back in the groove, with a fresh new look, and more sweet, soulful sounds.



Chapter 16 of the Soul Flip story sees Del Gazeebo breathe fresh life into a couple of absolute classics, steering them directly at the dancefloor.



First up for the Soul Flip treatment is Sam & Dave's "Soul Man", Del somehow making an already big tune even bigger, and very much more DJ-friendly.



On the flip, Del takes the O'Jays original version of "Now That We Found Love" & injects it with fresh energy. It also retains the glorious strings from the album version that was edited out from the original 7" (UK only) release.

JNCO presented by Wally Puma is a new label dedicated to reanimating and reimagining rave era classics back to their roots. The A side might as well be a mission statement for the label. Renegade Trouble combines raw breakbeats with vocal stabs, anthemic horns and a big rolling bass line. Golden era raps rain down from the 90s in a way that heads will surely ador. The B side is a bit more uptempo yet still delivers crispy a breakbeat and shifts the shape of an 80’s soul sample with filters and big horns. This track is a hands in the air moment in any set at any time.

Nick Bike returns for another 2024 Q1 appearance with a few sureshot mixes of the Queen of Soul, all respect due. Extended breaks and touches never heard before on this timeless classic. You might need two (or perhaps more if you got some heavy hands)

Side AA / Jim Sharp / Tell Me What To Do The man who needs absolutely no introduction in the 45s world returns for his second release with Mountain 45s. Jim takes a classic funk sample and with his usual polished touch, pays his respects to its earliest iteration as a New York party breaks mainstay. Piano stabs, funky guitars and horns, mixed with call and response vocals alongside the originals make this one yet another can’t miss from the maestro. Don’t sleep

he year is 1999 and The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo) are working on a new track for Wu Tang Clan Member, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s new album. The track in question, “Got Your Money”, was an unexpectedly poppy, upbeat and melodic track that would go on to have global success. Buried within the multi-track recordings of the ODB’s hit track is an acapella by Pharrell, recorded early in the tracks production. Bringing his own laid-back style and flow, but keeping to the narrative of ODB’s track, Pharrell delivers a secret version of the track, few will have heard. Alloy Cuts delivers two versions of Pharrell’s hidden bars, mashing up one side with Montel Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”, giving the track a more golden era sound and on the flip side the classic ragga riddim, the “Snake Riddim”, is used to great effect!

DMC 2014 WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIP DVD with 16 stunning performances from
the 2014 National DMC Champions.

Also featuring a special guest performance by Japan’s KENTARO (2002 DMC
World Champion) together with an exclusive DVD only interview with the
new Champion - Mr.Switch, the previous three time winner of the DMC
Battle for World Supremacy who became the first Brit since Plus One in
2001 to bring the World title back to the UK.
The interview is conducted by Cutmaster Swift (1989 DMC World Champion)
who took the DMC rig to Mr. Switch’s home town Birmingham to watch him
repeat his winning set in multi-angle format with Switch discussing his
influences and provides tips for wannabe World Champions.
The 2014 runner-up was America’s I-Dee with Canada’s Vekked taking third
place.
The DMC Championships staged at London’s Forum were once again supported
by RANE who provided a gold plated Rane Mixer to the winner seen here in
Mr.Switch’s exclusive interview. Pioneer DJ provided additional prizes
including their newly developed turntables which have been well received
within the DJ industry and seen as a long overdue product since the
legendary Technics SL1200’s.
DMC posted the winning performance by Mr.Switch on dmcworld.tv (via
youtube) where it has attracted over 150,000 views already. The sound
