1982, Brussels: The former au pair for Rick Wakeman of Yes and two of her teenage friends are at the doorstep of Les Disques Du Crepuscule, ready to cut an album with Gilles Martin. Living on busking wages and next door to Tuxedomoon, their work results in a contemporary bossanova record that would provide a missing link between Antonio Carlos Jobim and Kraftwerk. Camino Del Sol was issued and promptly forgotten, with Isabelle Antena moving toward jazz in Asia and the others returning to France. Twenty years later, it was findable only as a VG+ LP with a sticker price of $4.99. Intrigued by the striking cover's sunlit patio furniture emptiness basking in the south of France, we scooped up Camino Del Sol and grouped the extant Antena recordings from that exceptional period by session. 2LP reissue of the original five-song mini-LP adds the group's first 12" (a cover of Jobim's "Girl From Ipanema," naturally), the Seaside Weekend 12", compilation tracks, and two previously unissued cuts, recasting this short-lived combo's forward-thinking milemarker as a modern-day masterstroke.

Abriendo Puertas is the second Spanish language album by Gloria Estefan, originally released in 1995. In contrast to the album Mi Tierra, her successful Spanish debut album that was primarily influenced by Cuban music, Abriendo Puertas draws on a wider variety of Latin American musical styles. The album performed very well globally, achieving Platinum certification in the United States, Colombia, Argentina, and Spain. It went on to win the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album. Some of the popular songs featured on this album include "Abriendo Puertas", "Farolito", "Tres Deseos" and "Más Allá".

By mixing elements of Punk, DUB, Reggae, Funk, Latin, Jazz, FunkA LatinA, Afro Beat, etc., we are planning to stimulate the sensibilities and right brain of all generations.

“Pop Muzik” was originally released in 1979 to worldwide critical acclaim and international chart success – topping the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Canada Top Singles chart, and reaching the top 10 in many European countries. Musicians who play on the track include Wally Badarou, John Lewis, and Brigitte Vinchon. The inspiration for the track was the increasing popularity of pop music. This exclusive Record Store Day 12” red vinyl includes the unreleased tracks “Baby Close the Window” and “Pop Muzik (Latin version)”. The Latin version of ”Pop Muzik” combines M’s vocals from the original 1979 version of “Pop Muzik” with a newly recorded instrumental by Latin American music group Rumba Calzada. “Baby Close the Window” was originally recorded in 1981 and features vocals from Brigitte Vinchon. Also featured is the original UK cut of “M Factor”. “M Factor” is the B-side to the original 1979 release of “Pop Muzik”. M is the stage name for musician Robin Scott. M has worked with many acclaimed musicians including Wally Badarou, Mark King, Phil Gould and Gary Barnacle of Level 42.

Bruna Mendez is a female singer/songwriter from the inland city of Goiânia, Brazil. Originally a lyricist, she began her musical career in 2008 to express herself as a musician, joining several bands in Rio as well as in her hometown Goiânia. After releasing her debut EP "Pra Ela" in 2014, Bruna released her debut solo album "O Mesmo Mar Que Nega a Terra Cede à Sua Calma" in 2016, which received critical acclaim in Brazil.

After this first album, Bruna also finds interest in electronic sounds and textures, and starts incorporating these elements into her music. Her second album here, "Corpo Possivel", is the result of such an encounter between electronic beats, addictive melodies and a band and musicians playing a tight and propulsive sound. All of this makes Corpo Possivel an album standing out in today's Brazilian music scene, where many extraordinary talents are produced. 180g and Disk Union are proud to release Corpo Possivel for the first time outside of Brazil. The third retouch project by DJ Yoshizawa dynamite.jp is a Japanese cover of a double-sided standard song that reinforces the acoustic bass and plays it with "stereo" sound quality/sound pressure without sacrificing the atmosphere of the original song!

Side A "Coffee Rumba" is a rare version with lyrics in Spanish in the second half. The performance is also nice, with a stylish arrangement similar to Latin jazz! On the other hand, the B-side "Otenba Kiki", which also has a Latin touch, was originally released by French singer Jacqueline François as "Les lavandières du Portugal", and was released under the English name "Portuguese Washerwomen" (also known as Kiki) in the 1950s and 1960s. Ayumi Suzuki's original song, composed to show the Japanese landscape to the world with a Japanese-style melody on a Latin rhythm. It is the first song on her 1st Album "Oukagekka," but in this new arrangement, the melody and horn section with vibraphone and shinobue, a traditional Japanese instrument, are added to express cherry blossoms dancing in the wind with Cuban songo and guaracha rhythms.

New single "Breaking The Circle" and her forthcoming album "hana" were made with long-time collaborator and friend Ed Harcourt. It is their third in a trilogy of records, with each stemming around the thematic frame of a location. The collaboration began in 2014 with the critically and commercially successful "Wanderlust", which was inspired by Eastern Europe, and continued in 2016 with "Familia", inspired by Latin America. New album "hana", which Harcourt describes as "kaleidoscopic joy", is inspired by East Asia and began with the album track "Tokyo" and Sophie"s first trip to Japan pre-pandemic in 2020.

Getting into Summer vibe gears with this breezy smooth Italo-Disco single originally released in 1990 as a 7” under another one of the many unknown Italian private press labels, Tengo La Sangre Caliente is a playful latin sounding production with a strong balearic feeling given by the Spanish lyrics and Flamenco guitars that adorn the early drum machine house beats. Certainly one to have haunted a good amount of Discogs wantlists over the past years, Thankyou brings it back again remastered for 12” format with a new edit from Castro that cuts off some of the harder-to-digest vocals along with a more to the point “bonus beats” as well.

One of the most influential bands in the Japanese club scene, Cool Spoon's signature song "elegant Girl's Thinking" is now available on 7" for the first time! "elegant Girl's Thinking", which is still being played by many DJs, will be released on 7-inch analog for the first time on unchantable records in response to numerous requests for a 7-inch analog version! The B-side includes "Onakizaka". Cool Spoon is a band that has absorbed a wide range of black music, including rhythm & blues, jazz, Latin, hip-hop, and reggae, and has output from a unique perspective. Cool Spoon is also known for the fact that Sly Mongoose's Noriyoshi Sasanuma was a member of the band from their second album onward.

"Find Me Finding You" is the first album Sadier released as Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble. French drummer Emmanuel Mario and Brazilian bassist Xavi Munoz, both of whom played on Sadier"s previous solo albums, are present throughout, as is David Thayer, the filmmaker and musician who co-ran the group Little Tornados with Sadier. Opener "Undying Love for Humanity" burbles with intertwining guitar lines, stuttering keyboard signatures, and bouncing vocal harmonies - it recalls French yé-yé 45s and the knotty exotica of the Free Design. The rest of the album is dotted lightly with krautrock droning, Latin percussion, and chiming twee. Sadier"s lyrical pattern continues on Find Me, as her lines revolve around tyrants, indoctrination, and states of conflict. This is what makes "Love Captive" stand out: a duet with Hot Chip"s Alexis Taylor.

Bastidas! has flourished among L.A.'s underground scene since 2007, creating a new threshold for post-punk, chunked up bass lines, and sonic synthesis. Melding genres of Latin, Post Punk, Punk, Jazz, Latin Jazz, they represent what could be East L.A.'s answer to Sonic Youth. The UltraViolet Catastrophe (aka Uvc) was a mostly synthesizer pop band in Seattle from 1982 to 1984. With the sound of multiple keyboards and female lead singer, their first live gig was at the opening of The Metropolis in Seattle in 1983. Produced by members Einar Ask and Steve Turnidge, industry specialist and author of Digital Mastering. Pink Stiletto is set to reinvigorate New Wave and post-punk. Echoing the eclectic, avant-garde essence of ZE Records, Pink Stiletto merges disco’s allure with punk’s rawness, funk’s rhythm, and new wave’s idiosyncrasy. Their songs stand out with unconventional sound, capturing the vibrant, artistic spirit of downtown New York. It draws inspiration from the likes of Gina X, Tubeway Army, and Cristina. Nervous Gender formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1978 by Gerardo Velazquez, Edward Stapleton, Phranc and Michael Ochoa. In 1979, Don Bolles of the Germs joined as drummer. The following year, Phranc left the band and Paul Roessler of the Screamers joined. Nervous Gender played with bands such as SPK, Factrix, NON, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Psychic TV during the early 1980s. The original LP has been re-released by Dark Entries Records. As of 2017, Edward Stapleton, and Matt Comeione, San Diego mod and Cal Arts trained composer, started Nervous Gender Reloaded.

A record that should never leave any HiNRG sympathetic record bag. You get two monstrous club tracks from the second half of the 80s for the price of one. These two singles put the power couple (Pascal and Denise Languirand) on the HiNRG map worldwide. “Imagination” is an electro influenced anthem that will shift gears for any dancefloor. The percussive work on the break is a ground quaking homage to freestyle/latin influences from the scene in LA at the time, (reminiscent of the unconstrained drum machine programing on “Just My Love” by Umo Vogue for example). Flip it and you're left with “I'm Yours Tonight”: a highly sought after Patrick Miller holly grail that might have been too honest to be taken seriously by the already "house" infected zeitgeist which might have been dominating the mainstream for the tail end of the late 80s. But for many faithful HiNRG scholars this would never leave our radars, so here it is again at a now reasonable price and remastered for serious club application.

It’s more outward looking than my earlier works, but no less personal. On the contrary, I feel more comfortable than ever saying that this album reflects me and my thoughts right now.”

The second release from the My Favorite Soul label is a 7-inch featuring singer Keyco. This ambitious project features Keyco's empowering vocals, recorded with a live band assembled once again by producer Chick-d.

Side A, titled ‘Watashi Jishin,’ is a cover of the track from Ayumi Ishida & Tin Pan Alley Family’s classic 1977 album *Our Connection*. The cover retains the original’s spoken word sections while infusing a touch of Latin funk into the sophisticated city pop vibes, giving the song a warmer feel. (It's also worth noting that a recent cover of "Bye Bye Jet" from the same album by Muro featuring Keyco remains fresh in memory.)

Side B, ‘I Am,’ is a cover of the hidden gem by neo-soul duo Kindred the Family Soul from their 2003 album “Surrender to Love”. This track features a soft and warm band arrangement, with standout contributions from Swing-o (of 45trio) on keys and Tsuyoshi Kosuga’s mellow guitar. However, the real highlight is the heartfelt harmonies shared by long-time collaborators Keyco and Mika Arisaka, whose gentle and beautiful vocals make this recording truly captivating.
