The combo of Premo-type crisp drum programming, soft cumulus cloud-like synths, and a warm, velvety bass will make you feel like you’re flying, that is, if you’re cruising in your car. It was the early 2000's in Jacksonville, FL. Pre-social media, the Myspace Era. Thus, The Smile Rays were born and they immediately started shinin'. This time Merse and DJ Robert Smith (Slick Walk) team up with QNC aka Q-Ball & Curt Cazal from “Strong Island” N.Y.C. and North Carolina ́s legendary Supastition for the A-Side.

Searching for the perfect flipside DJ RS reached out to Curt Cazal (J.V.C. F.O.R.C.E.) once more on the production tip. Needless to say he came up with the goods!

Dusty Donuts affiliate Jim Dunloop added his funky basslines and guitar licks to the A side cut and the final polish and push of the meters on both tracks done by DJ Goce.

According to a press release, production on the album is handled by DJ Scratch. "Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that's what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don't have to be focused on everything," the producer noted in a statement. This gritty beat, courtesy of Mr. Rumble, features the beast Royce Da 5'9 with an absolute classic verse and the nastiest of cuts from DJ Revolution. The B-side is another Checkmate/Royce collaboration from 2013 produced by the incomparable Hazel. Both tracks mixed by the go-to Vancouver studio technician and producer Roger Swan.

Ghost Dog - Original Motion Picture Score, produced by The RZA, is now available on official Vinyl and CD editions! This masterpiece was previously only given a limited Japanese release, and is the first film score produced by The RZA and features appearances by Wu Tang Clan.
