Formed in 1999 by acclaimed hip-hop producers Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Dr. Octagon, Deltron 3030) and Prince Paul (Stetsasonic, de la Soul, Gravediggaz,) Handsome Boy Modeling School is a concept project that instantly turned heads and brought a whole new dynamic to the world of hip-hop. Back in 2001 producer Keith Science and rapper Swift Wizdom recorded a dope project that they ended up pressing on Cd-r for their immediate friends and family.



In 2015 Keith decided to press this baby up on vinyl through his own label Central Wax. HHE has secured some of the last available copies of this release, all vinyl is still brand new and sealed and this won't be repressed. On Whenever, the duo continue to move in lockstep. It all started in 2020 when producer The Breed and guitarist Richard Holzmann decided to start their own project called PAPI CHURRO. The two german musicians came up with a unique combination of latin-folk and HipHop Sounds. Almost like a Lo-Fi Beat version of guys like João Gilberto or Carlos Jobim. But also the typical Mexican sounds of Druglord Movies like „Narcos“ are part of their soundcollage. In very short time PAPI CHURRO gained a fanbase and millions of streams on the net. But still producer The Breed clearly references those „Chops and Breaks Roots“ on the songs.

For the cover-artwork they hooked up with Los Angeles photographer legend ESTEVAN ORIOL (who just recently got his own bio-documentary on Netflix - www.estevanoriol.com/). Estevan himself has Mexican roots and so it was a perfect match for the project.

On 12 Finger Dan's original version they got REKS, Masta Ace, and Rakaa Iriscience [of Dilated Peoples] droppin' powerful verses – that's Hamburg, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles united for the cause of that boom-bappin' true Hip Hop.

For the cuts Stevie Drumz from Munich joined 12 Finger Dan of Soulbrotha, and they went crazy. The spherical Dilla-esc Rekless remix does not only feature an extra Roger Rekless verse and him plus his companion Boshi San singin' the hook. But also some extra keys by Ningu Strom of Tribes of Jizu, and scratches by Al Rock who is one of Roger's 4zu1 crew members.

Version #3 is on a beat by Munich Boom Bap producer Roccwell. Besides REKS, Ace, and Rakaa another LA legend stepped up to the mic. Mykill Miers the Hitchcock of Hip Hop! DJ Aspect, former IDA/ITF champion, also from Munich, did what a dj gotta do.

Coming off his breakout LPs "pop 1967" and "The Rain Knows What It's Doing", andrew seemed an unlikely production partner for Zilla Rocca's bourbon drenched punchlines and late '90s east coast rap lineage.

Zilla Rocca has never rapped this much non-stop in his long legged life, specifically on cuts "Draper Papers" and "The River Knows", going 80+ bars deep. andrew takes a look under the hood to add his signature gravel-paved melodious tones to "Dom Irrera", "No One Cooks on Friday", and "You Need Friends". But even off the mic, andrew's now trademark ear for beauty and funk shape the record undeniably.

Powerule is back with the infectious 7-inch vinyl single "Glorify N Praise" (Produced by Large Professor). This unreleased B side "Get Right" Features Sonny Banks and produced by none other than Lord Finesse is a textured, infectious, hypnotic composition that gives you a window into the struggle of the inner city. This 7-inch is from the upcoming full length Limited Edition Digipak CD "The Anomaly: Reloaded".

In the late 80's and early 90's Powerule stood century as the vanguard of an eventual Latin explosion in Hip Hop. Dominating mix shows and video mediums the Nuyorican experience in hip hop culture finally had their own voice. In 1991 they released their debut album Volume 1” on Interscope Records that featured Leaders of The New School, Large Professor & Kurious Jorge. Powerule and 2Pac were the first Hip Hop artists signed to Interscope.

Powerule went on to pave the way for artist like Fat Joe , Kurious , Big Pun , Tony Touch , The Beatnuts and others. Throughout the 1990s they released a string of classic singles such as "Dawn to Dusk”, "Bright Lights Big City", "Rock your Knot Quick" , "Heatin up" & “Well Connected” produced by some of Hip Hop’s most celebrated producers: Mark Ronson, Erick Sermon & VIC from The Beatnuts.

Since then Powerule moved on to other areas of interest. 20 years later these pioneers have returned with even more potent production and lyricism. Their first ever soon to be classic 7" vinyl features Hip Hop Royalties finest. Da Great Deity Dah returns! 20 years ago he put out to “Take Hip-Hop back” to great fanfare. It was the 3rd vinyl release and it got press around the world and was able to chart on college radio with Indecent Proposal produced by Dominic Painter. Slim the 78er also produced Penetrate the Soul, Jamel Jones added verses and hooks and DJ Eskimo tore it up on the wheels of steel.
The release was a masterpiece. Now the project gets re-released with new remixes and new songs in collaboration with artist from around the world. The Global Alliance will span several continents with the goal of preserving that boom bap essence of hip-hop. No mumbling just dope Hip-Hop, DJ-ing and production.
