Donda Deluxe, das 10. solo Studioalbum von Kanye West, ist nun endlich auf Vinyl (4lp) erhältlich! Das hoch antizipierte Album erscheint somit knapp zwei Jahre nach seinem Grammy ausgezeichneten Album „jesus IS King“, das mit #1 Debüts in den Rap-Album-, Gospel-Album- und Billboard 200 Charts Geschichte schrieb. Außerdem übertraf er damit die legendären Beatles und zog erneut mit Hip Hop Schwergewicht Eminem gleich, der mit neun aufeinanderfolgenden #1-Albumdebüts in der Geschichte der Charts an der Spitze steht. „Yeezus“ bezieht u.a. auf „Donda“ erneut Bezug zu seiner Religion, wobei er wieder zu seinen anfänglichen Wurzeln à la „My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy“ Inspirationen zieht. Donda enthält Beiträge von der Crème de la Crème der Musik-Welt, wie Jay-Z, The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Pop Smoke, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Kid Cudi und viele mehr.

From the makers of Wu Tang vs The Beatles, 'An Adventure To Pepperland Through Rhyme & Space' continues the obsessive use of Beatles samples (and cover versions) but this time laced with all the classic MCs of the 90s such as Biggie, Nas, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Busta Rhymes, Large Pro, Lord Finesse and The Wu-Tang Clan. This record is as if the Beatles themselves were transported to 1990s New York (as implied by the intro) and set up a studio to make tracks with the legendary MCs. Nowhere else will you find the attention to detail in pairing up raw raps with Beatle based sample madness. The album was painstakingly made over a 4 year period and uses rare recordings and cover versions that were meticulously researched and filtered through to find loops that complimented each MC.

For the occasion we involved remixer Tom Caruana with our personal favorite remix projects, Wu Tang vs Beatles. We keep it reggae-hip hop here, so we choose “Forget me not” and “The Movement”. There was still a bit of space on wax, so we added “Smith Bros” to the game!
