Over the last two decades, 20syl has crafted a unique, hip-hop infused, electro musical universe. He inherited a rich musical knowledge and a genuine understanding of analog and vintage sounds form years of classic beat making. He first got his start with Hocus Pocus, a band he founded in 1995. As the mastermind behind the band’s five LPs, including their Gold Record Place 54, 20syl has proved himself to be a visionary artist. A member of C2C - a turntablist quartet with whom he has won 4 DMC world titles – he took the genre mainstream with the groundbreaking album Tetra (2012). This successful opus was rewarded with 4 French Grammys and a Double Platinium Record.

In 2014, 20syl launched his solo career while still working with a few hand picked underground artists such as Grems, Raashan Ahmad and Blitz the Ambassador. In the recent years the prolific producer has taken his trademark overseas with popular remixes of ScHoolboy Q, Rihanna, and King Krule – setting up a booming environment for the 2014 release of his anticipated first solo EP, Motifs.

Shylow has a reputation for putting on high energy live performances; bringing down the house countless times solo, and has shared the stage with many underground artists such as Cage, Yakballz, Ill Bill, Aceyalone, Boot Camp Click, Mr.Lif, Camu Tao, Red Clay and Jedi Mind Tricks.
Also records as half of the group First Division. along with his counterpart Expertise, and is the founding member of The Bomb Shelta Association, a crew of artists who recorded an album entitled "Rebirth" in 97/98. The album was never released commercially but garnered critical praise and gained worldwide recognition through word of mouth, hand to hand sales, and the internet.
One of the standout songs on the "Rebirth" album was Shylow's solo track "S.T.O.M.P". It caught the ear of hip-hop legend Chuck D of Public Enemy, who in an issue of Elemental magazine, as well as on his website www.rapstation.com rated the song the number one mp3 download of the year 2000.

Hood Reishi is a genre defining album produced entirely by Ruckazoid. He's released music on Kanye West's G.O.O.D music label with Hudson Mohawke, and albums with J-Dilla, Dj Shadow, a #1 iTunes single with Breakbot, and most recently featured on Machinedrum's Human Energy as a vocalist.

Ruckazoid is known to raise the bar and his new Hood Reishi moniker is no different. The concept of this album was to use analog equipment from the past to create a new sound for today. Electricity runs through each beastly machine to produce each sound, with drums from a real TR-808 and other various analog drum devices connected to create the ultimate boombox. Since the recordings are analog, the album is able to push the sonic limits, making you feel like your system is about to explode, without destroying your ears.

It's a sound that must be experienced, and a sound that cannot be produced with software. The process is similar to shooting on film, with each track composed from captured performance. Using analog gear to create this sound is no easy task, but when achieved, nothing sounds comparable.

The album starts off with arabic sounding bells from the vintage Roland Super JX, then the chorus drops the mission statement:

"Soundboy run better put on ya sneakers, when you play this sound it fi blow out ya speakers, kill all dem woofers, kill all dem tweeters, me no stress me just smoke on da reefer yeah, pushing that dope like a dealer, I got the sound that fi wake up the sleeper"

The voice then changes when the verse comes in, and the listener's face is usually 100% mashed at this point. From there it's non-stop bass designed to keep you engaged like a dog hearing a new sound for the first time, head tilted and all. It's THE NEW SOUND, with just enough vocals to keep you locked in, but not too many vocals, as this album is really all about the sounds. If you're looking to hear the next level in bass music, this is for you.

As a long-time fan of People Under The Stairs and Damu The Fudgemunk, this is a full-circle moment for Soul Supreme. In typical crate-digging fashion, Thes One flips key elements from Soul Supreme's "Taking The Stand" into a neck-snapping beat. The instrumental album version of "Taking The Stand" can be found on the B-side of this 45. The original is a beautifully melodic jazz-funk head-nodder featuring drums by Tamuz Dolev and a spirited guitar solo by Radiohop's Johnny Biner.

"2 Minutes Till Midnight" stands firmly rooted in the funk tradition of Los Angeles, showing reverence for the music that inspired it by bringing g-funk legends Kokane & Domino ("Getto Jam") into the fold as guest artists and by featuring album artwork from Joe Cool, who designed the iconic "Doggystyle" album cover for Snoop Dogg. First establishing himself as an influential poet, then an award-winning screenwriter/actor, Saul Williams then went on to become an MC. Released in 2004, this self-titled album features guests like Zach de la Roca and members from Mars Volta.

Kevin Madison a.k.a. K-Solo a.k.a. the "original rap criminal" was a member of EPMD's "Hit Squad" and legendary antagonist of the Hit Squad's Keith Murray and also of DMX, whom K-Solo had met in prison while serving a three-year sentence. His 1990 debut album, Tell the World My Name, scored three rap hit singles with "Your Mom's in My Business," "Spellbound," and "Fugitive," and featured production from EPMD's Parrish "PMD" Smith. It was a highlight in a year full of legendary rap releases, but it's never been out on vinyl. Our Real Gone release features a lemon-colored vinyl pressing.

Solo Gemini "Utwory Wybrane" (sprk003) is an amalgam of Polish cultural texts of the second half of the 20th century. Among the skilfully blended lo-fi rhythms of hip-hop, house and dub we can hear echoes of songs from the years 1960-1990, often accompanied by fragments of old radio recordings, concerts, films or literary texts (Baczyński's Drogi nocne in Droga Przez Las [Road Through the Woods], Gombrowicz's Ferdydurke in Pupa) and even a touch of memetic, quite contemporary classics (an embittered resident of a certain block on Marymoncka Street in Nie Ma Ciszy [There Is No Silence]). Solo Gemini set itself the ambitious task of combining all these source materials and transforming them into a completely new form - accessible, modern and functional. 'Utwory Wybrane' is a selection of dance sounds (Nie ma Ciszy, Majka), but also radio plays (Nigdy Więcej, Za Chwilę Dalszy Ciąg Programu). These are productions that can be successfully played in a club, but also allow you to sit comfortably in an armchair in front of your home HiFi.
