What a killer season that last one was and we are starting the new one with a beast. The underground Hip Hop world was left reeling from the passing of People Under The Stairs' Double K in January 2021.



Back in 2008 he was working on a sick project with our man in New Haven, CT, Dooley O. A couple tracks from the sessions had been leaked on the net but the majority haven't been heard before.



What we have hear are 5 joints from the collabo as well as 2 insts and an acapella for the DJs to play with. Production is fantastic and we have been blessed with a modern day anthem, entitled simply "Hip Hop" - a joint which laments the current state of the artform, something which most heads can relate too. Not to say that hip hop isn't alive and well, as we know it is - well, at least alive - but Dooley & Double K are heard laughing at and pointing to the joke that the culture has become, asking us "what happened" to the form. "It must be the music that's turning me off, be sounding so Tinkerbell, extra soft" - yup we hear you fellas!!!

Holy Shit! A new player in town with 2 smart dancefloor classics. Joyful A side with polish reggae mash up hero Dreadsquad with one of his most classic mash up. The flip sees the debut of Albanian artist Toni Cicoria. All the way from Tirana, Toni take advantage of this long time classic Italian rap, and deliver a real SM Click experience.

The label with the big center hole is back! Another two instrumentals on the A while Keith Murray got remixed on the B. Heavy sampled material for the extra oldschool flavour. Golden 90's sound for the underground.

This time we get startet with a super tuff killer tune. A slow burner to roast wake MC's on the spot. The other half was completed by a Sunz of Man remix to get you naturally high. Mission complete!

Here we go with the flow. Another sharp shootin' 7" by pal Drunkenstein. One instrumental tune on da A and another great remix of the Bush Babees on the B. Perfect for all y'all boom bap heads out there.

It's getting serious. Number 5 is ready for ya ears and brains. As usual with two instrumentals on the A and an excellent remix of Derelect Camp by Drunkenstein on the B. Right stuff for the summer my friends.

Here we go again with the flow again. Drunkenstein is back on his stone cold 7inch saga. This time it goes deeper with these two slow burners. The A side rocks the instrumental track as usual and Fatlip got remixed on the B. This is a must for every jukebox owner and beyond!

At 14 years old, Funky DL and his older brother permanently moved from living with their Mother in Hackney to living with their Father in London’s Borough of Newham. It was this significant change that would begin to shape the most formative years of his transition from childhood into adulthood and his relentless pursuit into the world of music.

In the heart of Stratford, East London, a two bedroom apartment in a towering 22 story building was to permanently become DL’s new home. Lyrically encapsulating DL’s experiences between 1992 and 2005, from the first track, “Moving In” to the final song, “Moving Out”, this is a remarkably personal Funky DL album, aptly titled after the name of the building... DENNISON POINT.

LIFE AFTER DENNISON:
After an incredibly warm reception from the fans of the auto-biographical November 2018 release "Dennison Point", Funky DL returns precisely one year later with the sequel, "Life After Dennison". Keeping in theme with vocal accompanied breaks, the album explores topics such as, racism, discrimination, family, friendship, education, conflict, hardship, good fortune and the life lessons gained from them all. One would think it difficult to capture so much insight into the last 14 years since moving out of Dennison Point, however, in just 30 minutes running time, the album showcases the continuation of DL's life exploits from October 10th 2005 to present day. The annexation of the 10 tracks from "Dennison Point" to "Life After Dennison" paint a vivid picture of the man behind the music and provide the backdrop of who Funky DL was, is and potentially might become.
