Ramrock Records are proud to present Ghetto Priest Singer/Songwriter/Recording artist/Live Performer and musical visionary. Already known to many as the frontman of Asian Dub Foundation and vocalist on their globally acclaimed single Fortress Europe, GP has been involved in multiple musical projects over the last 20 years including the 2004 release of his critically acclaimed debut album 'Vulture Culture' with uber producer and On-U Sound supremo Adrian Sherwood at the controls.

Ghetto Priest has joined forces with Ramrock label owner and producer Jo Wallace to give us a deep reality check with his original and highly astute Life Ain't Easy that reflects the paranoia of our daily worldwide situations. Riding the riddim inspired by Dennis Brown's 72 Studio One classic Easy Take It Easy, Ghetto's words will resonate with many during these unsettled times.

These tracks are nice and original 1968 roots recordings from the Deltone archive.

The rhythm track for “Samfy Girl” was originally produced by Lloyd Campbell for Busty Brown's “You Inspire Me” (aka “Oh Girl”') in 1971. Keeling Beckford recalls: "On a Friday night, me and Junior Byles, we went by Lee Perry's Black Ark studio, Lloyd played the track and asked Junior to do something on it, but Junior didn't like the track. I was hungry at the time for another hit record, so I came up with the lyrics "Samfy Girl". It took an hour and a half to put the song together, with the help of Junior Byles and Lee Perry"

These tracks are nice and original 1969 roots recordings from the Upsetter archive.

These 1968 recordings for producer Derrick Morgan both get backed from the same Lynn Taitt & The Jets track. “Trying to Keep Me Down” is previously unreleased.

"We Remember Dennis" is a celebration of the life and music of Dennis Brown, proclaimed one of the top 50 voices of the 20th Century! He is also one of the most influential vocalists among reggae musicians and was noted to be Bob Marley's favorite singer. His iconic status and pivotal place in the history of reggae music is highlighted by the range of contemporary artists and power in the musical selections on the album. The two-disc longplayer blends romantic love songs and ballads with roots and revolutionary songs made famous and (mostly) written by Brown, with all tracks recorded with producer legend Clive Hunt. Dennis Emmanuel Brown was a spokesman for the people of Jamaica and the diaspora and his message is a vital today as when these songs were first recorded. His voice and his music are with us and we remember Dennis Brown (born 1st February 1957 - r.i.p 1st July 1999) - his music will will forever!
