Formed by lead vocalist legend Toots Hibbert, and the ragged call-and-response background singers Nathaniel “Jerry” McCarthy and Raleigh Gordon, Toots & the Maytals were spotted by Beverley Records’ founder Leslie Kong who produced the group’s first records in the 60s. Their Sweet And Dandy album was featured in 1972’s emblematic movie The Harder They Come, which included a performance of the title track recorded at Beverley Studios and also highlighted ‘Pressure Drop’ in its accompanying soundtrack. The movie’s unprecedented success, combined with some of the solid gold singles pulled from this album, fast-tracked Toots and the Maytals to reggae icon status, assuring the group international success and making Sweet And Dandy one of the most highly acclaimed albums in Jamaican music.

Tokyo Riddim Band continue their journey striding across times and cultures, this time with their colourful keyboardist and frontwoman Mimi Kobayashi breathing new life into a song she originally penned in 1981. ‘Lazy Love’ first featured on Mimi’s highly sought after Coconuts High LP, which she recorded in LA recruiting top session players to play alongside her. The Fishska was formed in late 1997 in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia. They have been an active part within the Indonesian underground’s grass roots scene. In 2023 they released a second album, ‘Banned In Jakarta’. Two songs in that album are now released by Liquidator Music: ‘Johny’s Whiney’ and ‘Confession Of A Skinhead’. Both songs have 60’s style skinhead reggae. ‘Confession Of A Skinhead’ is based on their experience as young teenage skinheads back in the day. It talks about the cliche of loyalty within the scene, which ended up in a story of betrayal and deceit. ‘Johny’s Whiney’ is more of a working class protest satire, striking on the poor performance of their government.
