Simon sent the drum patterns to Addis from Higher Meditation, for him to play the rest of the instruments. A task he accomplished brilliantly!
The stunning melodies and bass fit perfectly with the raw drums.
Side A offers "Conquering Dub", a stepper tune that will surely be played on sound system sessions, as it has all the ingredients selectors and massives need when the dances get hot.

This is a collaboration with Swish Jaguar (aka Sam Wish), who was involved in the production of many great songs as an original member of Tuxedo. Yusuke Hirado, who has a close relationship with Slowly, plays Fender Rhodes, and Cro-Magnon's Tsuyoshi Kosuga plays both guitar and bass. The perfect lineup of musicians made this vintage-inspired dreamy lovers' soul track with Swish Jaguar's talkbox dancing on top of it. The B-side contains instrumental version. Formed by lead vocalist legend Toots Hibbert, and the ragged call-and-response background singers Nathaniel “Jerry” McCarthy and Raleigh Gordon, Toots & the Maytals were spotted by Beverley Records’ founder Leslie Kong who produced the group’s first records in the 60s. Their Sweet And Dandy album was featured in 1972’s emblematic movie The Harder They Come, which included a performance of the title track recorded at Beverley Studios and also highlighted ‘Pressure Drop’ in its accompanying soundtrack. A wonderful set of rocksteady and early reggae bouncing off the irrepressible reggae rhythms and bounding harmonies of Desmond Dekker and the Aces.

The follow-up to their Action! predecessor, Intensified features the major hits ‘Poor Me Israelites’ and ‘Ah It Mek’ which topped the UK & US charts in the late 60s & early/mid 70s.

Also featured on the album is the punchy ‘Sweet Music’, a celebration of those knock-out vocal harmonies, where Dekker is at his best. With the great ‘Rude Boy Train’, Dekker was a precursor to the ‘rude boy’ phenomenon, which has since become a mainstay in reggae songs.
