Songs To Scream At The Sun was recorded with Kurt Ballou of Converge at GodCity Studio. Combining Ballou’s signature grit and style of recording with Have HEART’s style of music results in a dichotomy of clean, sharp drums, and a variety of guitar tones and sounds when combined, does not hint at one particular or obvious influence. Musically, there are moments which are mid-tempo and melodic, there are moments that are classic hardcore anthems, and it’s balanced with times which are dark and atmospheric. It’s an impressive accomplishment. As frontman Pat Flynn said, Songs To Scream At The Sun is the coming of age story. It’s about the growing process of a young kid shaking the chains of selfishness, but it’s everything about what you lose and gain in that process of growing up. The songs have an honest, yet poetic reflection that digs deep into the private lives that are shared by everyone-the deconstruction and dismantling of one’s life and the eventual rebuilding and rebirth. This is at times dark and depressing, but Flynn’s lyrics never lose hope in what allows people to get strength in these situations. And what’s so strong about the performance and lyrics, aside from the cliché of hardcore singers “meaning what they say,” is that the perception of the lyrics (are they dark, depressing, positive, or hopeful?) is up to the listener to decide.

Since 1995 The Brian Jonestown Massacre has released numerous albums, first for Bomp! Records, the label which gave them their start, and later for TVT and Tee Pee. BJM has been essential in the development of the modern U.S. garage scene, and many LA and SF musicians got their start playing with Newcombe, including Peter Hayes of The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Originally Newcombe was heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic phase - the name comes from Stones guitarist Brian Jones combined with a reference to cult leader Jim Jones, but his work in the 2000s has expanded into aesthetic dimensions approximating the UK Shoegazing genre of the 1990s and incorporating influences from world music, especially Middle Eastern and Brazilian music. The continual shifts in their albums is an earnest attempt to realize global harmonies, but if given only one side of a 7" which side of Mahjongg would come out to play? The Dub Narcotic Disco Plate series provides the answer and "Free Groove Rider" is their most refracted pop statement yet. Using a swirling vocoder and intermittent dance beats, this single flickers like a channel-surfer finding pop sensibilities in between the static. The B-side, a remix by Selector Dub Narcotic (Calvin Johnson), ups the playfulness by reducing the static in favor of an unkempt, bubbling mix of melodica and reemerging synths.

This is the first single from the new album 'Triple Distilled' and it's already getting played on BBC 6Music, 'Begging You' was recorded at Ranscombe Studios in Grahams hometown Rochester and it's backed with an exclusive b-side a great instrumental called 'Sitar Spangled Banner'. After a year of touring and the release of their 'Travelled And Unravelled' EP earlier this year, the Gaolers returned to the studio in July 2008 to record their follow up to the critically acclaimed debut album 'Soundtrack To The Daily Grind' with their second album 'Triple Distilled' at Ranscombe Studios in Rochester, Kent which is due for release in October 2008. 'Triple Distilled' is made up of 12 blistering new tracks with fairly autobiographical lyrics telling tales of their life on the road, drinking and smoking. As usual they are the amalgamation of Graham's tuneful and aggressive songs, driven with an energy and attitude, which has been perfectly captured in a simple no-frills studio recording. Buzz couldn't make the recording so Johnny Barker (Ex of The Buff Medways) has stepped in and will also be part of the band that hits the road again around the albums release for another European tour and a headline show at the legendary 100 CLUB in London on October 29th Dan Elektro from the great US band The Woggles is on drums. "Needle In The Camel's Eye" is the fourth single from The Wolfmen, following hot on the heels of last years limited edition release "Cecilie" and their first two singles on DG. It's a cover of the ENO track from his debut album "Here Come The Warm Jets" and this version has been remixed by Alan Moulder. There are two exclusive tracks on the b-side "Zip Gun" and "Mother Of Mystery". The Wolfmen's debut album is scheduled for a June 2008 release. The Wolfmen are Marco Pirroni (guitars) and Chris Constantinou (vocals/bass). Marco first appeared on stage alongside Sid Vicious in Siouxsie and The Banshees and, with Adam and The Ants, he co-wrote five number one singles and two number one albums. In the 90s he joined Sinead O'Connor as co-writer and guitarist. Chris joined Adam Ant's band in 1982 and went on to work with Junior Vasquez and Guy Chambers, and, in the 90s, formed Jackie Onassid and toured with Iggy Pop. Endearingly simple but beautifully beguiling, it's lo-fi dusty break business with the most elegant guitars this side of Vine Reilly and Gabor Szabo. Tommy's breezy drum-machine guitar-soul should be prescribed to soothe an aching world. By rights, he should also be a Balearic god. Here's 14 tracks of drop-dead laconic beauty, all of them combining to create this unheralded masterpiece. Working with Tommy directly, the LP has been fully remastered and sounds as dazzlingly, heartbreakingly beautiful as it did back in 2007.

Coolly opening the album, "And The Folklore Continues" can be said to be both a titular and actual nod to his past work. As ever, there's heavenly Latin guitar stylings that make you swoon and the melancholic vibe is accentuated by the addition of some melodic wordless vocals from Tommy. Just divine. The sparkling "La Califas Perdido" follows, all dreamy melodic guitars and twinkling vibes over dusty drums and a fine bassline. The shuffling, conga-assisted "I Would Go With You" is a gentle, romantic gem whilst the brief but beautiful "No Time For Time" feels in a hurry to let us know that Tommy can work with more propulsive rhythms. In this case, they underpin Tommy's gorgeous, shimmering guitars wonderfully well.

The head-nod funk of "Calling For Ya!" (get it?) features Curumin delivering the clever title as a hypnotic vocal refrain peppered throughout, all hung around some buried spoken word vocals and gorgeous cello work from Lenny Gonzalez. "Bloodinthemud" is a low-down gritty funk workout whilst "Zapata's Boots" is a total low-key groover, all Latin percussion and Morricone muscle aided by a whistled Spaghetti Western melody. The startling instrumental "Mosaic Man" closes out the side with a lean slice of mellifluous, virtuoso guitar bliss.

The reflective "What Have I Been Doing Since I Was Gone?" opens the B-side in glorious fashion, the type of melancholic melodic head music that should soundtrack a bright walk on a cold winter's day. The hypnotic groover "Paper Switchblade" is a razor-sharp fuzz-funk whilst the beautifully downbeat "Never Forget To Remember" is a kaleidoscopic kalimba-koolout. Galloping cop-funk breaks workout "Run With The Hunted" is a rollicking ride and it's followed by the fresh chiming guitar funk of "New Terrain".

The upbeat and bright "40 Summers", featuring congas from Alfredo Ortiz, is as clean and poppy as Tommy gets and it really is a look he wears incredibly well. Just straight up guitar pop. "The Simple Man" a gorgeous, melancholic ballad, closes out the record with deeply yearning vocals from Tommy, a rarity and a treasured one at that.

Meticulously remastered and cut by both Simon Francis and Cicely Balston respectively, it has been pressed to the highest possibly quality at Record Industry in Holland. The original and iconic sleeve, designed by Natas Kaupas, has been restored here at Be With HQ as the finishing touch to this long overdue re-issue.

Thee Oh Sees (ocs) began as songwriter / singer / guitarist John Dwyer's outlet for the experimental instrumentals he was producing in his home studio. Dwyer, who hails from Providence, RI, has been active on the San Francisco indie scene since the late '90s, working with The Coachwhips, Hospitals, Pink & Brown, Yikes, Dig That Body Up It's Alive, and Swords & Sandals, among others. He formed OCS (which is an acronym for Orinoka Crash Suite, Orange County Sound, or whatever Dwyer decided on any given day) to release a string of soundscapes and moody pieces that were decidedly lower key than his previous projects. In time, OCS morphed into an actual band, working under a flurry of names (most notably the Oh Sees or the Ohsees) and eventually settling on Thee Oh Sees. Sounding a bit like The Mamas & The Papas run through a seriously bent garage blender, this line-up features Dwyer on guitar and vocals, Brigid Dawson on vocals and tambourine, Petey Dammit on bass, and Mike Shoun on drums. The band signed with the German Tomlab label and released The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In in 2008. This record marked the first recorded appearance of the newly harder rocking version of the band and was immediately met with an enthusiastic response by fans and rock scribes. It went out of print after its initial pressing sold out quickly, and In The Red is pleased to announce the re-release of this incredible album on vinyl. Music like this is best enjoyed when spun on a turntable, and the gorgeous cover art can only be properly appreciated at 12 inches by 12 inches.

Kivimetsän Druidi (The Druid Of The Stone Forest) play metal that is both adventurously original and filled with elements that sound familiar. Part of the Finnish folk metal movement, which also spawned bands like Korpiklaani and Turisas, Kivimetsän Druidi's music stems from a similar origin but is more complex and symphonic. Their two albums to date were released by Century Media and are now being made available on limited vinyl courtesy of Svart Records.
