The ties that bind together bands know nothing of national borders or oceans between continents, and for punk bands on tour, these relationships run deep. The latest addition to American punk band THE Drowns (based in Seattle, WA) is guitarist Simon, who played for years with the UK's Wonk Unit. Simon and his former Wonk Unit bandmate Alex helped book THE Drowns on a UK tour, and when both bands met each other in full in London, they weren't just fast friends, but like family. On this release, each band contributes one brand new song. THE Drowns, armed with their sharp rock 'n roll sound, set their sights on a protest song about the state of the US in recent years, aptly titled "The Beast," while Wonk Unit opt for more personal territory with “Rebecca,” which deals with issues related to substance abuse, personal responsibility, and mental health. Except for a very limited vinyl on demand series, this Steve Wynn solo album has never been available on LP before.Beneath still going strong with THE DREAM SYNDICATE, Steve Wynn has relased more than a dozen proper solo records since the early 90s.Steve Wynn went from the lower reaches of the Los Angeles underground music scene to major critical acclaim practically overnight with the release of the Dream Syndicate's debut album, The Days of Wine and Roses, in 1982. Being part of the Paisley Underground (the neo-'60s Southern California scene that included next to Dream Syndicate also The Bangles, Green on Red, Rain Parade) proved to be the first act in a long and fascinating career in which Wynn matured into one of the canniest songwriters in rock, penning smart, flinty lyrics that told perceptive tales of human behavior both noble and otherwise, married to tough, engaging melodies full of muscular guitar work. Wynn launched his solo career with 1990's Kerosene Man...Sweetness and Light blends the '60s psychedelic pop of The Beatles and The Byrds with the punk intensity of groups like The Velvet Underground and The Kinks. The album magically captures the furious intensity of Wynn's concert performances and blends it with the brilliant pop-oriented production of Wynn and John Agnello. Agnello has previously worked on albums by Dinosaur Jr. and Patti Smith. "I honestly think this is my best sounding record and a lot of the credit has to go to John Agnello," said Wynn. Parlophone Records is proud to announce THE KIT KAT KLUB (LIVE NEW YORK 99), the sixth and final installment of DAVID BOWIE 'BRILLIANT LIVE ADVENTURES', a series of 1990s era Bowie live albums released as limited one run only vinyl and CD pressings. The albums and limited edition boxes to house the full vinyl or CD collections will be available only via the David Bowie official store and Warner Music Group’s Dig! store.

Out 2nd April on CD and double vinyl, THE KIT KAT KLUB (LIVE NEW YORK 99) is a 12-track live album, recorded on 19th November 1999 in front of an invite-only audience of fans and contest winners.

The show was recorded and filmed for webcast the following month via Liveonline.net. The audio from the show was previously available exclusively as a very rare 12-track promotional CD.

The photos used on the inner gatefold of the CD and LP are by Alison Hale a fan who travelled the world to see multiple Bowie shows before she sadly passed away in 2012.

THE KIT KAT KLUB (LIVE NEW YORK 99) was recorded live at the Kit Kat Klub, 19th November 1999, produced by David Bowie, mixed by Mark Plati, and features Bowie backed by Page Hamilton - guitar, Gail Ann Dorsey - bass, vocals, Mark Plati – guitar, Sterling Campbell – drums, Mike Garson – piano, keyboards, synthesisers and Emm Gryner and Holly Palmer –backing vocals.

Over the last half decade, the music collective Constant Smileshas produced a prolific output of acclaimed music, culminating in their forthcoming record Kenneth Anger, masterfully brought to life by engineer Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Liars, Dougie Pool). The group is known most recently for their much-praised debut album for Sacred Bones records, Paragons, an emotionally resonant offering of indie folk masterpieces that all confront the internal ways we process our struggles with intimacies, addiction and humanity produced by Ben Greenberg.Constant Smiles' primary singer/songwriter Ben Jones uses the creative process as a tool for working through deeply transformative periods in his life. The band's indie folk music lays bare this internal process, but on Kenneth Anger, the music shifts to synth pop and looks externally, examining creativity, community, ritual, and their place in the healing process. Ritual takes a primary role in the eponymousKenneth Anger. Not only is auteur Kenneth Anger himself known for his sensorial depictions of ritual, Jones often used the films as a silent visual back drop during his song writing sessions, a ritual that grounded the creation of the album. And while the director's use of saturated color inspired the warm `80s synth style production, the director's trailblazing spirit of authenticity also pushed Jones through his most vulnerable expression to date. While the narrative undertones of the songs deal with fear and isolation and anxiety, the songs themselves were created through the healing process of ritual, and enriched with collaboration, community and trust. A cursory listen to Brooklyn indie act Habibi's self-titled debut album would initially seem to suggest a straightforward punk approach to the classic girl group template. Front-loaded with sweetly catchy upbeat pop tracks like "I Got the Moves" and "Detroit Baby," Habibi's indie shimmy rhythms and reverb-heavy harmonies find the middle ground between the Shangri-Las and the Undertones in the same way the Vivian Girls did on their earliest work. The guitar lines are direct and no-frills, drummer Karen Isabel manages to play in a way that is equally powerful and understated, and the vocals are distant and eerie, whether delivered in a frantic rush solely by lead singer Rahill Jamalifard, as on spiky garage tracks like "Persepolis," or in a dreamy cloud of harmony by multiple bandmembers. Getting past the first few easily digestible girl group pop hits, it becomes clear that the true strength of Habibi lies in just how strange and haunted the songs can get. There's a spooky desperation in the slinky after-hours club narrative of "Let Me In" and a simmering anxiety lurking beneath what first appears to be a carefree tale of summer seduction on "Siin." Habibi tap into the very specific energy of a young band putting together its earliest songs, free from the self-consciousness and rules that can creep in and dull groups down once they become more established. It follow's last year's underground hit EP 'Idol Eyes', which saw strong support from DJs across BBC 6 Music - including Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, Nemone, Stuart Maconie and Tom Ravenscroft - as well as Amazing Radio, Bandcamp Weekly, Kcrw, Radio X, Soho Radio and Worldwide FM. "Starchild is kinda a letter to younger generations" explains Charlie. "Are we hardwired to be programmed? Like, is change possible? “Mohammad Reza Mortazavi is a virtuoso percussionist known for playing traditional Persian instruments such as the tombak and daf. After developing more than thirty new striking techniques and progressing to be one of the most prominent players in Iran, Mortazavi travelled to Germany, eventually settling in Berlin to record and perform regular concerts the world over. His acclaimed performances have taken in venues such as Berlin Philharmonie and Sydney Opera House. In recent years, he has been embraced by the experimental electronic music community, collaborating with Burnt Friedman, Fis and Mark Fell.

Ritme Jaavdanegi is Mortazavi’s sixth LP, and his first one available on vinyl. The album came together from recordings made in Berlin in June 2019, inspired by Mortazavi’s vivid reminiscence about profound experiences he had listening to music as a child. As he drifted in this time-slipping reverie, the phrase ‘ritme jaavdanegi’ or ‘rhythm of eternity’ came to mind, and he found the phrase itself to match the 11/8 metre he was striving for. As such, all eight pieces on this album adhere to this time signature, which in itself harks back to the Aksak, a rhythmic pattern based on the alteration of binary and ternary quantities executed in a fast tempo, intrinsic to traditional music from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and the Balkans.

In the same way these non-standard folk rhythms started to impact on Western music in the early 20th Century, so now you can hear an ever-increasing embrace of polyrhythms and metres that break away from the dominant 4/4 ideology. What’s most striking about Ritme Jaavdanegi, perceived through a lens of modern Western experimental music, is how Mortazavi’s virtuosic playing rivals the intensely programmed dynamics of electronica. His rapid, needlepoint drum hits bend their tonality in incredibly musical ways, but there is still an underlying focus on cyclical repetition that encourages the same ancient transcendental quality that so many contemporary artists strive for.”

New Jersey's Omnibus formed from the ashes of garage bands from the New Milford area: The Cliffhangers, The Forerunners and The Vandals. Original members came from these three local bands and consisted of Jay Polt, Al Raimondi, Bob Wegrzyn, Bobby Marcinczack and Jerry Garino. They soon hit the local scene and got in touch with brothers Steve and Eric Nathanson who would become their managers and finance their first recordings.

A United Artists recording deal was the next step, through wich the band issued their debut 45 "The Man Song" / "It's All In Your Heart" plus their eponymous LP in 1970.

Omnibus had an amazing psychedelic sound that took all the right elements from West Coast bands like The Doors or The Jefferson Airplane, Bosstown sound acts like Ultimate Spinach or Chicago hipsters like H.P. Lovecraft to produce their very own Made in Milford, N.J. mixture. Strong, dramatic vocals, tons of fuzz guitar and swirling organs built up their magic sound.

Wah Wah proudly offers the first ever reissue of their original 1970 album, plus a whole second LP compiling previously unreleased recordings from rare acetates with earlier recordings of some of the LP tracks and some non released songs. Also added is an extra bonus 7" with the garage killer "The Farm", which would have been an explosive 45 for the band had not been withdrawn from release.

from The Shacks instant classic debut album Haze.
The A side “My Name Is…” is one of the first songs The Shacks wrote shortly after they met.
Producer Leon Michels had the track and the title for it and sent it on to The Shacks to pen the
lyrics. Max Shrager says of writing the lyrics “this song is about setting a time and place to meet
up, wandering around like ghosts until we spotted each other in a crowd of strangers. It is
inspired by "I Only Have Eyes For You" by The Flamingos”. Musically, it has the infectious
attraction that all of El Michels productions do. A poppy melody balanced out by the rough and
tough rhythm section made this the perfect match for Shannon’s subtle and sweet vocals.
The B side, “Sand Song” is a beautiful tune about an ugly subject; global warming. The
hauntingly beautiful guitar melody that the Shrager produced track begins with is met with the
equally somber vocals from Shannon. Reverb drenched background vocals and organ
flourishes follow suit with the arrangement showcasing The Shacks razor sharp musicianship.
A stand out tune from the album and the embodiment of what made iD magazine call The
Shacks “classic American sounds…simultaneously recalling Sesame Street and David Lynch’s
nocturnal crooners”.

UK psychedelia moved into prog rock with spices of hard rock in the late sixties, some even coined a new label to describe the strong textures resulting of the mixture of rockier blues sounds, jazz, revolutionized freakbeat and the hardest side of popsike - ‘heavy psych’. Amongst the best works of the era were the two splendid LPs recorded by Welsh band Eyes Of Blue.

The Eyes Of Blue where formed in 1966 and soon won the Melody Maker Beat Contest, a fact that secured them a recording deal with Deram records. The label issued their first 45s, they were good but -due to company pressure- more Blue Eyed Soul or even bubblegum oriented. By the time they released their first LP, on Mercury, their real sound had surfaced, showing influences by some of the coolest bands from the US West Coast like The Doors or Love, and also counted on the help of Graham Bond.

Originally released in 1969, In Fields Of Ardath was the follow up to their superb debut LP, expanding the path of heavy Hammond based psychedelic progressive rock at its best with their aim of experimentation. This album contains also material they recorded for the movie Toy Grabbers in collaboration with Quincy Jones.

Members of Eyes Of Blue would later join Man, Pete Brown & Piblokto! and Gentle Giant.

First ever legit vinyl reissue, in a limited run of only 500 copies, including two bonus tracks from a non-LP 45, in remastered sound and featuring an insert with photos and liner notes.
