An all-encompassing aural assault, a force as unstoppable and fiercely alive as the tide. The post-rock powerhouse known as And So I Watch You From Afar have returned with their 7th studio album, ‘Megafauna’. A tribute to the two places the collective call home, their beloved Portrush on the Irish North Coast and the beating heart that is Belfast; ‘ Megafauna’ is headstrong exploration and heartfelt appreciation with all the intuition, intimacy and humour of four firm friends approaching their 20th year as a band and a nod to the Irish roots that simultaneously ground & propel them forward. Like so many other bands and creatives throughout the pandemic, ASIWYFA found themselves suddenly stationary, with any plans outside of their immediate vicinity put on indefinite hold. However, where this might have seen other acts falter, ASIWYFA took comfort in their communal bond and, as soon as they were able, began writing a record that quickly became a love letter to the communities they call home. “‘Megafauna’ is essentially a distilled moniker for our peers,” says guitarist Rory Friers, “all of the friends and characters that we’ve grown up with who’ve made us and our homes what they are today. Lockdown was an intensely introspective and reflective process, which put the comfort of community at the forefront of our minds. ”The intent behind ‘Megafauna’ is clear from the outset. Two guitars, bass and drums all recorded in a week erupt into effervescent life in an endorphin rush of collaboration and togetherness after the physical and psychological wilderness of isolation. Lead single ‘Do Mór’ is a preposterously playful collision of light-hearted guitar hooks, effortless jazz syncopation and the triumphant return of ASIWYFA’s inimitable wall-of-sound distortion, whilst opening track ‘North Coast Megafauna’ serves as an anthem for the whole album and perhaps for a band reinvigorated too; proudly wearing the joyously jarring confrontation of their sound on their sleeves. ‘Megafauna’ is the band’s first new music since 2022’s critically-acclaimed ‘Jettison’, an ambitious multi-media ensemble piece packed full of experimentation and collaboration. Jokingly referring to ‘Jettison’ as the band’s “mature record”, guitarist Niall Kennedy frames the writing of ‘Megafauna’ around the band’s long-running mantra of ‘DO THE SCARY THING’ which sees them constantly hurtling towards newness, towards progress, evolution and the unknown. In bringing their new album to life, the band embraced a deliberately free-flowing and DIY approach, building up songs in McAlhaney’s garage before self-producing the LP at Tampa’s Feral Sound Studios. “In the past we’d sometimes limit our sound to some preconceived idea of what Anberlin is supposed to be,” says McAlhaney. “This time the mantra was, ‘If it feels good, let’s try it.’ Because at the end of the day, Anberlin is whatever we say it is.” As a result, Vega encompasses everything from the shout-along-ready pop perfection of “Walk Alone” to the brutally heavy intensity of “Seven” (a shapeshifting and strangely enthralling epic featuring a savage vocal performance from Mullins). “I think after spending time apart we came back with a new perspective, where we were all just excited to work together and create the best songs we can,” says Young. “No one was precious about their ideas; it was all about making something that feels new and risky and like nothing we’ve ever done before.” As they get set to embark on the “20 Years Of Tears” amphitheater tour with Thursday, Hawthorne Heights, and SAOSIN—a 56- date run that marks their most extensive tour in a decade—Anberlin looks forward to the pure thrill of performing their new material for their longtime legion of fans. “We’ve had so many people tell us things like, ‘Your songs got me through a really difficult time in my life,’ or ‘You guys are what made me pick up a guitar and start my own band,’” says Rexroat. “It’s an incredible feeling to know that we’ve impacted other people on that level—the amount of love we’ve felt is undeniable, and it’s one of the main reasons we’ve kept going for as long we have.”

Darning Woman is an intentional, beautiful, sometimes confrontational album that shreds expectations of DIY, bedroom music, and feminine themes. "I don't really like to deal that much with themes of personal hardships, or heartache and love," says Anastasia Coope. To that end, Anastasia Coope is also the founder and leader of the Bonzo collective and show series, an exciting new home for the type of expansive, profoundly creative scene that New York has been missing for some time. And while Bonzo may well be the ascent of a new community, Darning Woman is the story of Anastasia Coope, herself. It is the sound of Coope entering the world as an artist, acknowledging the tangle of what changes - the gaze of the world, Coope's art in reaction and community to art in general - and what does not: her ideas and her own self.

Ananda Mida is a Stoner and Psychedelic Rock music collective led by Max Ear (OJM’s drummer and Go Down Records’ Art Director) and Matteo Pablo Scolaro. From the very beginning of the project, graphic imagery has been given a crucial role thanks to the precious collaboration with the visual artist Eeviac. Since 2015, they have been performing with different lineups, from three to six members, either instrumental or featuring singers. Their sound is inspired by 70s Rock, mixed with desert and psychedelic grooves. In 2015, they debuted with the double A-sided 7-inch Aktavas/Passavas, which gave rise to the band’s mythology, elaborated from some fragments of enigmatic teachings. In Fall 2016 they released their first full-length Anodnatius, co-produced by Go Down Records and Vincebus Eruptum Recordings. It reminds us of all the positive forces and slight vibrations settled inside and outside everything and everyone. In January 2019, the second chapter Cathodnatius was published, depicting all the opposing forces and obscure vibes we live in today. This record featured Conny Ochs on vocals and dropped via Go Down and Vincebus Eruptum on vinyl, CD, and digital. In June 2021, the band put out the live EP Karnak on a deluxe picture-back disc, featuring a special appearance by Desert Rock icon Mario Lalli on guitar. November 2023 will see the release of their third work, which will “mythologically” complete the trilogy.

After making waves with their 2020 self-titled debut LP (championed by the late, great DJ and synth/wave connoisseur Silent Servant), Toronto’s Analytica return to Suction Records’ minimal synth sub-label Ice Machine, for the second full-length LP, “Strategy Of Tension”. Comprised of kosmische synth artist Gabe Knox and electro-industrial performer David Lush, Analytica is a synth-pop duo who confront the race-to-the-bottom ethos of our time, but utilizing sounds and tools from the early ‘80s synth-DIY era. The album was recorded to a 6-track cassette portastudio in a two week session in Summer 2022, and mixed down live to tape in an afternoon. Analytica pair classic, holy grail analog synthesizers like the ARP Quadra, Roland System 100, and ARP 2600, with uncommon analog rhythm machines including the Univox Sr-95, Soundmaster St-305, Roland Tr-77, and Korg Kr-55b. The result is Strategy of Tension: a stinging rebuke to cynical political actors and a reminder that the only thing to fear is fear itself.

Ten years ago, Analogfish charmed Japanese audiences with infectious vocal harmonies, jazzy rhythms and intricate guitar needle-work that patched together a full-bodied work of adventurous Japanese indie-rock, and to welcome its tenth year anniversary P-vine will be pressing Kouya On The Wild Side for the first time on vinyl. There's something for everyone here in a release that will captivate fans of Japanese post-rock bands like Mono and Toe just as much as arena-filling western acts like Interpol or Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Analogfish have a knack for picking out melodies and doubling up vocals to deliver anthemic lines for the masses, and "phase", "Hybrid" and "Fine" all feature guitarist Akira Shimooka teaming up with bassist Kentaro Sasaki to punch home vital pockets of sound.

Analogfish formed in 1999, and having one foot in the 90s lives on healthily in their releases with clusters of the era's shoegaze and electronica written into the mix. Shimooka and Sasaki debuted on a major label in 2005 and were joined by Shuichiro Saito on drums who completed the three piece line up. Now veterans of the Japanese indie rock music, they have produced ten albums together as a unit and continue to release and tour as energetically as ever. Kouya On the Wild Side serves as both a great introduction to their work and a slice of the vibrant sounds coming from Japan at the tail end of the 00s.

Founded in 1990 in Helsinki, Finland-based melancholic metal masters AMORPHIS wrote music history, incl. classic albums like f.e. their debut The Karelian Isthmus (1992), their breakthrough Tales From The Thousand Lakes (1994) and Eclipse (2006), their first album with the new vocalist Tomi Joutsen, which marked the beginning of a new era in the band‘s history. Regardless of their relentless touring schedule, they secretly returned to the studio to write and record their forthcoming, twelfth record with famous producer Jens Bogren (SOILWORK, KREATOR etc.) at his Fascination Street Studio in Örebro. The result of this two-month recording session is once again a heavy, melodic statement, called Under The Red Cloud . During the recordings, the sextet was joined by some famous guest musicians: Chrigel Glanzmann (ELUVEITIE) played flutes on 'The Four Wise Ones', 'Death Of A King' and 'Tree Of Ages', Martin Lopez (ex-OPETH drummer) played percussions on 'Death Of A King' and Aleah Stanbridge (TREES OF ETERNITY) sang guest vocals on 'The Four Wise Ones', 'Sacrifice' and 'White Night'. “It was a great honor to have such talented musicians appearing on Under The Red Cloud ,“ guitar player and founding member Esa Holopainen comments. “Each one of them puts his/her personality and character in the very right spot.“ The whole recording process was a time full of extremely intense work for AMORPHIS. “It was the first time, that I woke up at 08.00am to start recordings. They went on until 06.00pm in the evening - every day! But the result was definitely worth it,“ the guitarist continues. “It was a great experience and Jens made us playing more aggressive and working really hard“, drummer Jan Rechberger adds. Jens Bogren also handled the mixing and mastering of Under The Red Cloud . A perfect example for the variety and feel is the first single 'Death Of A King'.It starts with an oriental melody & crashing drums, and has a lot of dynamics.

A strong and pithy, yet sensitive album, emphasizing AMORPHIS' status as one of the most outstanding Rock acts nowadays. Founded in Helsinki back in 1990, AMORPHIS constantly worked their way up, developing from a harsh Death Metal band into a serious Rock group. The big break-through came in 1994 with their last really extreme album "Tales From The Thousand Lakes“, scoring a big coup in the worldwide Metal scene. After intensive touring, AMORPHIS decided to discover new musical grounds and hired Pasi Koskinen, who additionally worked with clean vocals, as new singer, leaving guitarist and former singer Tomi Koivusaari the chance to focus more on his six string work. In 1996, AMORPHIS released "Elegy", a Progressive / Folk Metal masterpiece which even managed to climb to # 67 in the German album charts. Three years later, "Tuonela" showed up, combining Modern Rock music with Finnish character and psychedelic 70s influences. A highly successful mix that even topped the triumph of "Elegy", achieving a brilliant # 46 in the German charts again.

In 2013, Finnish melancholic dark rock/metal masters AMORPHIS gave birth to their eleventh mind-child named “Circle” that instantly hit #1 in Finland’s album charts. The total of 9 tracks and 2 bonus tracks that are contained on “Circle” once more prove the musicians’ ability to intertwine new and established ingredients. “To put it in a few words, it’s compact, brilliant, fresh and still has all the elements you expect from AMORPHIS”, as guitarist Esa Holopainen points out. Lyricist Pekka Kainulainen, who has also worked for the band on previous albums, tells the story of an unfortunate man, who is invited to a circle and receives strength from the old Finnish gods. As the plot is set completely between dusk and dawn, “Circle” gains a dark yet yearning atmosphere. Produced by Swedish all-rounder Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN), AMORPHIS went to the Finnish countryside at Petrax Studio to work on “Circle”. The cover artwork was done by British artist Tom Bates who seems to share a common love for Alphonse Mucha with Esa Holopainen. Founded 1990 in Helsinki, AMORPHIS have become a globally successful act with 6 number 1 albums in their home country Finland and countless top 10 positions all over the world.
