"Roman Candle" is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith.

Steven Paul "Elliott" Smith (1969 –2003) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and lived for much of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he first gained popularity. Smith's primary instrument was the guitar, though he was also proficient with piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. Smith had a distinctive vocal style, characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery", and used multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies.

Smith began his solo career in 1994, with releases on the independent record labels Cavity Search and Kill Rock Stars (KRS). In 1997, he signed a contract with DreamWorks Records, for which he recorded two albums. Smith rose to mainstream prominence when his song "Miss Misery"—included in the soundtrack for the film Good Will Hunting (1997)—was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category in 1998.

Smith had trouble with alcohol and other drugs throughout his life, while suffering from depression, and these topics often appear in his lyrics. In 2003, aged 34, he died in Los Angeles, California, from two stab wounds to the chest. The autopsy evidence was inconclusive as to whether the wounds were self-inflicted. At the time of his death, Smith was working on his sixth studio album, “From a Basement on the Hill”, which was posthumously completed and released in 2004.

Be Here Now' is the third release in the Oasis series 'Chasing The Sun: 1993-1997', released on Big Brother Recordings on the 20th anniversary of the first day of the 'Be Here Now' recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios. Arguably the most anticipated British album release of all time, 'Be Here Now' was recorded with producer Owen Morris at Abbey Road Studios, Ridge Farm Studios, and Air Studios between October 1996 and May 1997. Originally released at midnight on Thursday August 21st 1997, 'Be Here Now' sold 700,000 copies in just 3 days and remains, to this day, the fastest selling UK album on release. To date it has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Oasis released three singles from the album, two of which - 'D'You Know What I Mean?' and 'All Around The World' - charted at No.1, with 'Stand By Me' reaching No.2.The album has now been re-mastered from the original tapes and the deluxe edition format (3CD) features bonus content of B-sides, rare and unreleased Oasis tracks from the 'Be Here Now' era, plus a brand new Noel Gallagher mix of 'D'You Know What I Mean?'.The deluxe edition also includes the legendary Mustique demos; 14 previously unreleased original demos for 'Be Here Now' recorded in the Caribbean Island in early 1996 by Noel Gallagher and Owen Morris. Inspired by artists such as Etta James and Julie London, Lizzie sang a sultry Jazz set around the traps in Sydney. Enthralling fans with her riveting stage presence and seductive voice, around late 2007, she teamed up with Deniz Tek to pursue a lifelong love of Soul music. Deniz's hard rocking background with Radio Birdman is well known. In recent years he has also worked with Scott Morgan, soul shouter from Detroit's Rationals. Together they performed numbers like Otis Redding's 'Respect' and Johnnie Taylor's 'Hijackin' Love' to crazed audiences across the USA. If it had to be chosen an unconventional project among the spanish progressive scene in the last few years, without any doubt the asturian band ZEM would be the one. Lead by the virtuoso vibraphonist Xuan Zem, together with members from LOS ILEGALES, their debut album was released in the beggining of 2008. Their music is based on a powerful rhythmic section, with the vibraphone, the bass and the drums as a central basis. Over this structure they develop compositions around jazz rock, with brass arrangements and sax solos, guitar and of course, vibraphone. This is the first single from the new album 'Triple Distilled' and it's already getting played on BBC 6Music, 'Begging You' was recorded at Ranscombe Studios in Grahams hometown Rochester and it's backed with an exclusive b-side a great instrumental called 'Sitar Spangled Banner'. After a year of touring and the release of their 'Travelled And Unravelled' EP earlier this year, the Gaolers returned to the studio in July 2008 to record their follow up to the critically acclaimed debut album 'Soundtrack To The Daily Grind' with their second album 'Triple Distilled' at Ranscombe Studios in Rochester, Kent which is due for release in October 2008. 'Triple Distilled' is made up of 12 blistering new tracks with fairly autobiographical lyrics telling tales of their life on the road, drinking and smoking. As usual they are the amalgamation of Graham's tuneful and aggressive songs, driven with an energy and attitude, which has been perfectly captured in a simple no-frills studio recording. Buzz couldn't make the recording so Johnny Barker (Ex of The Buff Medways) has stepped in and will also be part of the band that hits the road again around the albums release for another European tour and a headline show at the legendary 100 CLUB in London on October 29th Dan Elektro from the great US band The Woggles is on drums. The STRATFORD SPARROWS are from Portland, Oregon. The Rev. Joe alighted there from San Francisco. After making it though the many trials of life in the City of Roses, he began hearing the sounds of harmony vocals, clean Telecasters, and reverb. He obtained a recording device and brought it back to the humble Stratford apartments. He met the fair Miss Bryna in Japanese class and asked her to put her sweet voice to good use. She said yes and the hit making commenced. Taking inspiration from classic country music, the mighty Willamette River, and the 100 year old building that houses them, the Stratford Sparrows made music all summer long. Rev. Joe called on his friend Holly and a record was born. Every time Rev. Joe turns a knob or pushes a fader, the sounds in his head are approached.

Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes you get up just to get down again. Sometimes you run just to feel the wind against your face, and sometimes you stand still to watch things crumble around you. Vancouver's Ladyhawk knows this. And they got up - way up - and entered a recording studio for a day-long session between tours in the first half of 2006. Perhaps they then soared too close to the sun, like moths drawn into the flame, only to fly again into the shadows, their wings singed. And then maybe, gathering their burned and broken instruments about them, they limped their way home, rearranging the pieces and sounds haphazardly, letting them all lay as they fell.The end result is the sound of four brothers breaking something down to create something new, reaching into the fire again. It is a shattering 6-song march called Fight For Anarchy, all unmuzzled and jawing out, nothing edited or expunged. I wanted badly to revisit the type of songs I did on my more experimental albums The Pyramid, The Ghost, and Protection Spells. 4 JEARS ago the first album of the COME N GO was released (Rhythm n Blood, Voodoo Rhythm ) it was a furious mix of fist in Your Face Attitude R&B and Punk Rock Trash Blues. these Days they are Touring a lot around Europe and went to the Studios Again to record this New Album.. trou a lot of Touring this Young Innocent Boys and Girls went into Drugs, they where Smoking Hash and doing several other Substances and they start to listen not only Early Rolling Stones but as well the Later Stuff.. one Turned into a new Born Christian and the others felt for Satan.. and so is the music.. take fucked up rolling stones and the Oblivians and may the Reatards and you got the COME n GO.. A Explosion on the Turntables and a Explosion in Your Head as well.. they totally don't know what they wanna do and what way they wanna go and they just don't Care and give a Damn about it..it's Rock'n'Roll that's all it is.. Young Pissed off and Against the Squares Rock'n'Roll in the Purest form and Way of doing it. this is a film soundtrack for the Movie 'Flammend herz' by Andrea Schuler and Olifr Rutz.. the movie is about the Oldest German Tattoo Parlour and his owner Herbert Hofmann who is a legend him self.. now 85 jears old and his friend who are both 90 jears old are from the head to the food full on tattooed and every tattoo tells a more unique story.. and the same is it with the soundtrack who won the first price at the Bienale in Berlin Germany (germanys most important film festivals).. the music to the movie is all instrumental with elements of easy listening to country 30's Jazz jango reinhard style over to blues and sicilian funeral music.. the Dead Brothers shows us again how bright the specrum is and how great this music is... this is funeral music at it's best !!! the LP comes with a printed innersleeve and the CD is in a Digi Pack with a little booklet with pictures from the movie and the band cover artwork was made by Laura Satana a tattoo artist from Parismastered at: echo chamber in Zurich
