"Television star Martin Shaw last night said justice had been done after seeing his stalker convicted of a 5-year campaign of harassment. The Judge John Deed actor looked relieved as he left King's Lynn Magistrates Court and said he hoped Sandra Price would find peace following yesterday's guilty verdict. Shopkeeper Price, 66, also from Hingham, began writing to Mr Shaw after his marriage to TV presenter Vicky Kimm broke up in 2005. But the letters became increasingly offensive and Price began appearing outside the homes of Mr Shaw and his partner Karen da Silva. And delivering his verdict, district judge Tim Daber praised his onscreen counterpart's 'meticulous' evidence. Of Price, he added: 'I am not convinced that all these explanations are wholly truthful.'

"Price, who originally came from Settle, North Yorks, moved to the village in August 2006 and opened a craft shop. She hand delivered a 45-minute tape to the actor's house and left him a 120-page dossier detailing his movements, explaining her behaviour and threatening to kill herself in his garden. Yesterday she told the court that she wanted to help Mr Shaw by giving him 'healing'. When the trial opened on Tuesday she denied harassment but admitted causing criminal damage by pouring petrol through Ms da Silva's front door. But under cross examination, she admitted collecting and keeping personal information about the couple, including the Land Registry deed to Ms da Silva's house. And in the 120-page document, which she called The Chronicle, Price admitted she 'wanted to get under his skin enough for him to be curious about her'.

"In another extract read out in court, a person referred to in the third person as The Woman said she would drive to Hingham, go to Martin Shaw's Garden, wrap herself in a sleeping bag and take an overdose of painkillers. Price agreed she was The Woman. Robert Warner, prosecuting, told her: 'I suggest you have developed an unhealthy interest in Martin Shaw and his personal life and also the personal life of Ms da Silva.'

"Price was warned to stop contacting Mr Shaw after the actor complained to the police in November 2005. Police arrested her after petrol was poured through Ms da Silva's letterbox last July. PC Mark Bandrowski said when he searched her home in Chapel Street, Price showed him bottles which had contained petrol, oilskin clothing and a lighter. Price admitted pouring the petrol through the door. She told the court: 'Someone told me that she had been calling me a stalker, Martin's stalker. I've always complied with whatever I've been told to do and I thought my name was blackened in the village. I was angry. It's not a good thing to do I will admit but I became enraged.'

"Extracts from letters Price sent Mr Shaw were read out in court. One said: 'Please don't regard this letter as an invasion of your privacy (although it is).' She signed another from Sandra The Crackpot. Price said she had not deliberately set out to pass Mr Shaw's house or Ms da Silva's property, but she loved to walk long distances around the village."

‘A Single Point of Light’ is Ben Shemie’s second solo LP and the follow up to ‘A Skeleton’, which was released with Hands in the Dark in early 2019. While the frontman of Canadian band Suuns gave us a cold, experimental sort of pop with his first album, centered around the idea of a genderless, raceless character, this record focuses on the perception of light, both figuratively and literally. The way it is created, moves and breaks apart, how we can all see the same thing but perceive it differently. Overall, the new theme encourages a broader musical universe, both in the songwriting and the production. Whilst the songs are longer and warmer, the psychedelic, dreamy tunes on this album are undoubtedly still cloaked by a certain dark atmosphere. A Single Point of Light is still very much a performance oriented recording, using the same techniques as the previous opus. It was all recorded in one day, all live off the floor, with no overdubs. Shemie comes up once again with an original and personal approach to music, creating simple, uninhibited, catchy songs with only a few electronic elements and his voice. We couldn’t be happier to work with a such fresh and avant-garde vision.

Cold Beat is a San Francisco-based quartet fronted by Hannah Lew (synths, vocals) with Kyle King (synths, guitar), Luciano Talpini Aita (synths) and Sean Monaghan (guitar). Formed in 2013 the band has released three albums and two EPs. A Simple Reflection is a 7-song collection of Eurythmics covers, yet feels just as personal as any of their original material. While digging through a collection of 12"s for her record shop Contact Records, Lew stumbled across the earliest Eurythmics B-sides and was floored. This lead to the discovery of their debut album In The Garden. Annie Lennox’s abstract and poetic lyrics really struck a chord with Hannah. What had started out as a single cover quickly snowballed into a full blown obsession. The synth and drum programming resonated with her songwriting process, so reimagining them was very creatively fulfilling. The covers on this EP are simultaneously dynamic and atmospheric post-punk that plays to Lew's ethereal vocals and King’s crystalline guitar. All songs have been mixed by Mikey Young (Total Control) and mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The record is housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh, which features pink and purple clouds that evoke a dreamy softness and DIY playfulness and photos Lew in her best Lennox-inspired drag. Each copy includes a postcard with photos and notes.

Following the label’s 9 minute sell out of it’s recent Mark E. Smith BBC “football results” lathe cut, Feral Child return with a cracker. A split LP featuring two of mainland Europe’s finest experimental electronic artists, Germans Phantom Horse and Belgiums’ Innercity. 2 side long epics of rich exploratory, kraut tinged Electronica. Phantom Horse offer up “Pink Star”, a side long slowburner (with production by Kohn’s Jurgen de Blonde) built around opening drones and sporadic kosmische themed synth flourishes. We’ll mention Cluster again in a moment, but this has its head pointed firmly towards the legendary work of Moebius and Roedelius. A lovely track, kinda cleaner and more sonically polished than it’s flip, but that juxtaposition increases the records’ appeal here. For these ears, it’s Innercity’s epic “Ali” that steals the show here and is easily worth the proverbial price of admission on this one. A monumental, moody, side long piece of lo-fi drum machine enthused electronica recalling some imaginary dream collision of the very finest Conrad Schnitzler flavoured K/Cluster or first 2 LP Kraftwerk with latter day industrial, electronic pioneers of our own, early Cabs, Clock DVA, Throbbing Gristle, Robert Rental et al. Just magnificent and we don’t say “hike it right up” lightly…. Label head Dom has long had Hans Dens -and his Innercity project- pencilled in for releases on his previous labels Deep Distance and Polytechnic Youth which -for one reason or other- never materialized but their coming together here is exquisite and the track is a monster, my “new” track of the year thus far; talk about it being worth the wait…. A lovely record, in a limited one time pressing on vinyl through North London’s homespun Feral Child label.

“Chameleon Tongue” is the first LP of Sardinian band Mano De Mono, recorded during the hottest week of July 2021, mixed and mastered in the followin’ fall at Officina13 Studio. The contradiction of a double life divided in anxiety to achieve social approval while being frustrated of its cold mechanisms. In Spring 2022 and with a new record from his band More Kicks in the can, James found himself waiting. Release dates scheduled for nine months in the future, nothing much could happen beyond tour planning for the following year. “To be honest, I was scared” says James. “I’d been writing and recording like a man possessed for the past 18 months, writing the More Kicks album ‘Punch Drunk’ and my first solo record ‘Light Years’. I was worried what would happen if I stopped. So I headed back to my cupboard-sized ‘studio’ and plugged in my halfbroken tape machine.” ‘Vital Signs’ was written and recorded over the next couple of months, dragging a handful of friends into that cupboard studio for a lending hand here and there. Written, recorded, mixed, mastered and then back to the ‘day job’ of More Kicks touring across Europe, USA and UK. Stuff. To. Do. But something wasn’t quite right. “It took me a long time to realise that I didn’t want to make another record with More Kicks. I was obsessed with making us as good as we could be but suddenly I didn’t feel like writing new More Kicks songs and I had this finished record sitting there doing nothing.” ‘Vital Signs’ expands James’ musical palette to include blitzed-out fuzz (‘Dronify’) and chewed-up chamber quartets (‘La Rochelle’), while never entirely abandoning the more familiar turf of sneakily self-lacerating melodic nuggets (‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘Endless Summer’). Take the first track, ‘It’s Good To Be Wrong’, a Modern Lovers, Alex CHILTON-style stomp that blends heartbeat drum crashes with psychedelic organs and swooning Replacements guitars. “That song was a deliberate attempt to do as little as possible. My tendency is to overthink structure so I wanted to make a song that was essentially a mantra. Just hammer myself over and over with only two chords. It almost worked, there are three. “I recorded everything on an 8-track by myself and there are unhealthy amounts of tape hiss over everything. But for me, the whole point of these solo records is to get out of my head, don’t think twice, press record, keep going. It’s not that I don’t care, quite the opposite. But if I’ve learned nothing else from playing music, it’s that I should trust my instinct far more than my brain.” That brain almost left this record languishing on a tape before the instinct to put it out into the world took over. If what comes next isn’t immediately obvious, it’s certain that more music will continue to emerge from this innately restless writer. “I’ve accepted my fate that I’m a lifer.”

Set within the fictional town of West Feldwood, the EP explores the lives of an anthology of residents – with each track told from the perspective of a different character. As the final sixth track concludes the story, it sheds light on a sinister undercurrent as West Feldwood meets an unfortunate end. Ellie adds, “this EP is taking my world building to the next level. All of the town's residents are lonely, misunderstood and dissatisfied, but ironically all unaware of their impending demise.”

"Stoppt den Krieg (Schlagt die Schweine tot?)" is an anti-war song as an "Apocalypse Now" revenant. Kamerun describes the Belizean connoisseur vocabulary of our time (turn of the century) in the guise of those murderous predatory cats from maggot to leopard to puma.

This track wants a different language than that of the warriors and their dashing battle ministers. The music is manic-Prussian Sleaford Mods. In the chorus, Dutch singer Annemaaike Bakker transfigures herself as Zeus' daughter with a killer sample:

I don't talk to presidents anymore / Been diplomatic for so long Will end the palaver now / It's just too erratic for me Accept pacifism yes / Must really emphasize that again But it's fallen out of time / That's why the guns are speaking now. Because Schorsch Kamerun and his record company staatsakt want to continue to believe in the power of armor-free communication, this extra non-defensive protest rap is now available as a musical intervention.

Original member and bassist GUY has taken on vocal duties, with former Outo member Tank joining as the new bassist. Naoki, who shares the same hometown as Tank and Oumi, has joined as a new guitarist. Additionally, Gucci, the guitarist from Hiroshima rock band "red in Blue" and a support member for "YOASOBI," has also joined the lineup. With the return of second-generation drummer Oumi, the newly reformed Gudon is now a five-member band, releasing their first new material!

The single opens with a re-recording of "Twin Tail" from their 1984 debut cassette "Fushuu," followed by a powerful new version of "stoice Violence" from their 1986 first single "Hige Shibou." The new song "Against Stupid Law," a speed thrash number by new member Tank, recalls the glory days of Outo while proving that Gudon is still evolving. Gucci’s new track "shame ON YOU!" updates Gudon for the Reiwa era, showcasing the potential of a new hardcore sound.

GUY, now on vocals instead of bass, channels his rage against issues like the Gaza massacre and the revised Japanese Immigration Control Act. GUY's furious roars are backed by Naoki and Gucci’s skillful and aggressive twin guitars, Tank's machine-gun bass, and Oumi's extraordinary drumming, making it clear that the new Gudon is a force to be reckoned with.

Kupa 4 (Kupa Dörtlüsü) was a band formed of Greek and Turkish musicians who lived in a mutual culture in İstanbul (or Constantinople). Their roots connected to rebetiko and laiko, but they were also children of the revolution. Therefore while playing in a tradition of a laiko band, they also had influences from beat and surf. Groovy drumming, Killer Farfisa, and bouzouki-like electric guitar sounds are the key elements in Kupa 4's soundscape.

The band rocked the taverns in Turkey and attracted both minorities' and Turks' attention until the Cyprus crisis in 1974. In this compilation, you will be hearing the recordings of Kupa 4, where they performed a unique laiko beat/surf style made in Turkey. After six years, The Notwist return with three new tracks on Morr Music. It’s both an exposition of the the band’s musical variety and a prospect on a forthcoming album. Six years have passed since The Notwist released their last regular studio album, but that doesn’t mean that the members of this outstanding band have been idle in the meantime. There have been side projects, movie scoring, and other activities, like programming four editions of „Alien Disko“, a festival taking place in Munich, Germany. One of that event’s regular guests was the Japanese duo Tenniscoats – and a lovely side effect from that was an evolving friendship between the two bands. It lead to various collaborations: most recently in a new album by international band „Spirit Fest“ (featuring Tenniscoats singer Saya & The Notwist’s Markus & Cico) & a deep digging compilation of Japanese indie music called „Minna Miteru“. The title track of this new EP is another step in this collaboration – and a first step to an upcoming album by The Notwist – as it features Saya, who lends her voice to the percussive song. It is build around a slightly detuned synthline, which is contrasted by more pragmatic guitar work. „It neither sounds like The Notwist, Tenniscoats, nor Spirit Fest“, tells Markus Acher. „Just like Saya is saying in the lyrics: ‘I want to go outside, I want to meet people’, „Ship“ is another chapter in what The Notwist always tries to do: redefining itself, exploring something new, integrating different styles of music and collaborating with musicians they admire.“ The second song „Loose Ends“ is, in contrast, more classic Notwist material. A gently expanding ballad, this time featuring the distinctive voice of Markus Acher. The song came out of recording sessions for the soundtrack for „One Of These Days“, a movie by Bastian Günther. The EP then closes with „Avalanche“ a carefully optimistic instrumental. With its variety of styles, „Ship“ also serves as an outlook on an upcoming album, which will be influenced by the band’s experiences from their detailed work of creating sounds and moods for film soundtracks, and it will include more collaborations with international guest musicians.

Warning! was the only studio recorded document from the amazing hardcore band, The Latin Dogs, from Battle Creek, Michigan. This EP was released in 1982 and has never had a legitimate reissue until now. This remastered record is a perfect time capsule of punk becoming hardcore and original copies sell for several hundred dollars. This self-produced effort easily compares to the early hardcore punk released on Dischord Records or Touch and Go Records. From the ashes of some very seminal undiscovered punk bands such as the Brain Police, The Lips are Back, and The Itch, came The Latin Dogs. The band’s sole record was a DIY project paid for by the earnings of live performances. In those days it took many shows to get enough cash to pay for a pressing of a 7" record. It was recorded on a 4 track reel to reel and the sleeves were printed by a shady print shop that went out of business during the pressing, and the band had to break into the building to pick up the half-finished printed sleeves. This record put their early Political stance at attention. The power of a Marshall stack and Gibson SG backed by a Fender P bass with Ampegs at full volume, driven by a thin, wiry straight ahead drummer, fueled by a Jack Daniels drenched rebellious singer, gave this band a unique hardcore sound that was still reminiscent of an earlier punk sound. This powerful band, with two 6-foot guitarists, sandwiched a cocky, political, savvy singer who was not afraid of bold and precise statements. The Latin Dogs were deflected and rejected from popular punk circles, yet remained influential enough to carve out their own fan base in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and east Lansing. They played on shows with bands like: Big Boys, Die Kreuzen, Negative Approach, Tar Babies, Channel 3, Violent Apathy, Destroy All Monsters, and others. The Latin Dogs were ahead of their time, but also a bit ignored by their peers. Six song EP with double-sided insert, limited to 550 copies.

Wild Nothing, is the solo-project of Jack Tatum whose music is inspired by a longtime love affair with nostalgia. His debut full length album, Gemini, set to come out on Captured Tracks this spring, is full of dreamy, carefree synth-pop songs that linger with an inexplicable sense of regret. Prior to embarking on this recent solo-project Tatum sang and played guitar with the Abe Vigodaish tropical punk band Facepaint and the singer/songwriter project Jack and The Whale. In the summer of 2009 The Virginia tech-college student decided to embark on his first creative-solo project playing bass, guitar, synthesizer and drums while recording in his home-studio. He soon emerged with a unique brand of dreamy pop-songs influenced by bands like, My Bloody Valentine, Shop Assistants, Go-Betweens and Cocteau Twins. In 2009 he delivered a memorable cover of the Kate Bush song Cloudbusting, making it clear that Wild Nothing transcended the lo-fi pop-mold. On his debut album, Gemini, Tatum's frail vocals come warped in an oozing neon haze. Carefully orchestrated synth-pop arrangements, trebly guitar riffs and tattered drum machines blend together to create an intriguing,texturally rich glo-pop album that could come only from the young at heart.

As a massive early Killed By Death style punk fanatic, constantly in pursuit of the ever elusive records and one-off-obscuro sound, I frequently turn up my nose at modern bands playing the style. You can't just crap out a poorly recorded generic riff punk track, slap a 'kbd' label on it and expect me to fall for the ruse. What I particularly enjoy about Rotary Club is that they rework the lyrics into all things landline telephone while heavily referencing the riffage from the genre's top tier tunes, twisting them just enough to make them their own. 'See If I Care' is a KILLER 1966 organ-led garage punker that was included in the "Back From the Grave" series becoming a popular spin.First time fully licensed 7" reissue.By the mid-60s, Kenny Johnson and several of his Bakersfield (California) acolytes had relocated to Los Angeles and were playing gigs all over. 'See If I Care' is a KILLER 1966 organ-led snotty garage punker that was credited to the pseudonymous Ken & The Forth Dimension. At the time, this song was considered a relative throwawaycompared to its pop A-side, 'Rovin' Heart'. However, an error with the original pressing that reversed the 45 labels meant that anyone that might have played the record expecting the schlocky sentiments of the main track, got an earful of garage band insolence instead.Many years on and 'See If I Care' reached a cult status after being included in the "Back From the Grave" series becoming a popular spin in the garage scene.

HIGHLIGHTS:First time reissue of the uber-rare only release by Innovations, originally released in 1977.The Alessi Brothers original 'Seabird' receives an extra summer twist, resulting a DIY bedroom relic of yacht-rock gold. -INFO:When the Alessi twins saw their heyday in 1976, their moderate hit 'Seabird' resonated strongly in the head of Javier Guerrero, son of the Peruvian label Discos MAG's founder Manuel A. Guerrero. The luminous melody of the song fits perfectly into the daily scenes of Lima surfers, establishing a curious parallelism with the idyllic Californian landscape and its traditional surfer way of life.It was not long before Guerrero entered into the recording studio accompanied by Ernesto Samamé, bassist in We All Together, the band led by Javier's brother, Carlos Guerrero, as well as a member of Laghonia, Fe 59 and a few other musical projects. In his hands, 'Seabird' became an even brighter song than its original version, a potential perfect soundtrack for a scene taken from The Endless Summer, musical gold for any yacht-rock fan despite its less sophisticated and rawer production.The single was completed with another version, 'Put A Little Away', a late hit by Frankie Valli's The Four Seasons, and was released in 1997 on MAG Records, with a tiny distribution most likely limited to Peru.First time reissue.

Morphine Recordswith a massive loader from Slumberland’s self-made instruments sounds, from the ''to sewing machines and self made organs - all combined with legendary Tuvan throat singer, Sainkho Namtchylak. Lightkeeper was recorded and mixed by Lebanese-Canadian artist ,Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart, Constellation Records), adding his distinct touch to the production of this roller-coaster of sounds. Belgian musician, composer and instrument-maker, Jochem Baelus, has been unleashing his obscure, hypnotic krautrock embellished with distorted exotica upon us as Slumberland since 2013. After creating his signature battery of sewing machines, projectors and dismantled mechanical objects, Baelus immersed himself into the world of 64 year old voice-artist Sainkho Namtchylak and assembled a new sound sculpture inspired by her colour.
