When it came to the follow-up of their 1990 magnum opus Feel The Darkness, failure was not an option for Poison Idea. Seeking a way to expand their musical horizons while still retaining their cranked-up style, UK-cum-Chicagoian producer Iain Burgess (Big Black, The Effigies, Naked Raygun) was brought in to assist in this audacious feat. The results—1992’s Blank Blackout Vacant—successfully showcased a meshing of Poison Idea's classically surging sound and a new found refinement: demonstrated by the brass section on tracks like the driving opener “Say Goodbye” or the chugging, Motörhead-esque “Forever and Always”. Rolling on with their relentless reissue schedule for Portland’s Kings of Punk, TKO replenishes the double-disc edition of Blank Blackout Vacant first introduced back in the maddening year of 2020. Along with the album’s original batch of thirteen tracks capped off by a thundering version of New York Dolls'’ “Vietnamese Baby”, you get a bonus LP containing a bevy of B-Sides, covers by acts as disparate as Lords Of The New Church, The Who, and Booker T. & The MGs., as well as a live on-air performance on Portland’s long-running community radio station Kboo from the Fall of 1991. Originally released at a pivotal point in the band's career, Blank Blackout Vacant remains an essential component in the understanding of the band's epic trajectory.

Today the record is still as direct and powerful as it was first heard. Exploding onto the scene with a handful of releases behind them, Pere Ubu’s ‘The Modern Dance’ stunned the music world and quickly began appearing on ‘Most Influential’ album lists. Pere Ubu originally formed as a studio project drawing on a body of musicians who were involved in the Cleveland underground music scene that had, by August 1975, seemingly run its course. The main objective of the band at that time was to document their work and then disappear. Luckily for us they were on the cusp of changing the face of rock forever. For this reworking, Paul Hamann at Suma has transferred from the original 2-track analogue mix tapes to digital at the highest resolution available which, is at least four times the resolution of the original. The tracks have carefully been re-mastered by sonic architect Brian Pyle so as to capture the unique qualities within.

DEFEATER’s third full-length, Letters Home, is one of the band’s best records. The album features ten heavy and haunting tracks that continue the story of a working-class family living in post-WWII America. Letters Home revolves around the father of two brothers that listeners were introduced to in two of DEFEATER’s prior releases (2008’s Travels and, most recently, 2011’s Empty Days & Sleepless Nights), giving a background to the character and seeing some of the events from those past albums through his eyes. This is the 11th album in Bridge Nine Records’ special, silver-anniversary series, which was started as a way to celebrate the label’s 25th anniversary. Now in its 28th year, the label has continued to give the silver-edition treatment to the most foundational records for the label.

Hope and Defiance, the new album from political punk outfit Life Force! A straight-edge hardcore band out of Texas/Oklahoma. The group was formed in 2018 with a clear focus: the mission of paying homage to the sound, aesthetic, and spirit of classic youth-crew inspiration, albeit with a darker modern twist, while expressing pertinent socio-political themes and opinions through engaging lyrical content and a poignant on-stage message.

Iron Chic is a melodic punk band from Huntington Station, NY. Formed back in 2008, the band released a five-song demo tape followed by the Shitty Rambo 7” the next year, and finally their debut full-length, Not Like This, in 2010—all on Long Island-based Dead Broke Rekerds. The band garnered quite a bit of attention, not only for their music, but also because they were hailed as a “supergroup” (Punknews.org), featuring members of Latterman, Small Arms Dealer, and more. Immersed in the DIY scene, this 2015 release found Iron Chic recording the album themselves, and coming out poised for a bigger release than they ever have before.

"Live by the Code" is the fifth studio album by Los Angeles hardcore punk band Terror. It was released in 2013 on Victory Records. For over a decade, Los Angeles, CA hardcore outfit Terror has acquired a fiercely loyal following not only through their multiple recorded outputs but also through their live shows. "Live By The Code" was mixed by Matt Hyde (Hatebreed, Slayer) and produced by Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory, Shai Hulud, H20, A Day To Remember)

New edition of the Dead Kennedys live album on stunning red vinyl presented in a gatefold sleeve! In March 1979, San Francisco's Deaf Club played host to one of the world's favourite punk bands - Dead Kennedys. Playing a set that was heavily charged with Dead Kennedys usual political commentaries, unusual and unexpected covers and even a bizarre "Disco" version of the classic 'Kill The Poor', this is a live set that you will all wish you were there to see in person. The band’s Revelation Records debut picks up right where their previous EP, Hardcore For Hardcore, left off, with vocalist Brendan Radigan spewing venom at the ills that plague both the outside world and the scene itself, all delivered over fast, stage dive-inspiring hardcore that brings to mind the best of mid-to-late ’80s New York hardcore bands like Youth OF Today, Warzone, and Breakdown.
