Navigating between the UK Subs punk ethos and wider accessible music, with many songs co-written by Slack and Scarlet, Charlie"s lyrics reflected the current political paranoia of an Orwellian future, alongside hedonistic punk tales of life lived and characters met along the road. The album successfully led the band to embark on decades of world tours and continue the now-legendary A-Z series of albums. Although the current band have given up lengthy tours, since Charlie"s 80th birthday they reconvene regularly for festivals and short tours - in the UK from October 4.

Featuring an impressive pedigree including members of Bl’ast!, Good Riddance, THE Distillers, and Fast Asleep, the band picks up right where they left off on their 2020, debut LP, Brace Yourself, with a ten-song barrage of relentless, uncompromising rage, touching on topics such as religion, self-medication, and survival in a—literally and figuratively—sick society. In between playing shows with legendary acts like Quicksand, Fear, R.K.L., and Propagandhi, the band got back together with Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Studios to lay down the follow-up to their explosive debut. All in all, it is a continuation of the band’s fast and hard approach in every way, and if anything, the band is more dialed-in and focused than ever. The songs on the record come from extremely personal and often dark places for singer and lyricist Clifford Dinsmore, such as the first single, “Hanging In The Balance.” He explains, “In the time period I was fighting cancer, I was shacked up, feeling like a prisoner in my own house. Living in a semi-purgatory state, I felt like I was looking at the world from an outside view.” Of the bleak, punishing “Omen Of Despair,” guitarist Danny B simply says, “Musically and lyrically, this is where we feel Seized UP is right now.” The band also re-recorded “Forum Of Decay,” from their 2021 7”, wishing for it to be featured on the album with the laser tightness the band is now playing with after five years as a unit.

San Francisco’s last and only rock and roll band THE Okmoniks has teamed up with Slovenly Recordings for Afterparty Fever!!! Here are nine new houserockin’ woman led punk rock’n’roll blasts that capture the essence of a party that just don’t stop. This particular all-nighter was recorded live in a small room, and you can tell from the screams, handclaps, and peals of laughter that this 17 minute end result was produced in a gloriously boisterous session. Afterparty Fever!!! captures the girls-to-the-front, make-room-for-dancing, leave-’em-wanting-more live show they’ve been dishing out for freaks world-wide for the past two decades. The OKs are fronted by Helene 33 on vox, simultaneously playing impossible sounding, finger stretching 60s Ace Tone Top 5 organ tones while tossing it around like a toy… It must be seen to be believed, and a believer you shall be!

The Okmoniks recorded and produced every song on this album, and wrote them all with the forgivable exception of one cover by Tucson 60s punk outfit The Grodes. “Afterparty Fever!!!” sounds like a band in 1977 doing their favorite 1966 stompers: devastating dancers like “Don’t Wanna See You No More” and “I’ll Let You In” could fit comfortably in a John Waters teen shimmy montage, giving way to rockers like “He Left the Party with Me” and “Summer Break Up” that could serve as the captions for a comic panel in “Punk” Magazine.

Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad musical genre that emerged in 1977 in the wake of punk rock. Post-punk musicians moved away from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, adopting instead a broader, more experimental approach that included a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethos, but determined to break with rock clichés, artists experimented with styles such as funk, electronic music, jazz and dance music; dub and disco production techniques; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, film and literature. These communities have produced independent record labels, visual art, multimedia performances and fanzines. These three compilations are by no means 'Best Of' or collections of chart hits. They are compilations that endeavour (and we think they do well) to take a wide-ranging look at the UK and American post-punk scene in the years from 1978 to 1984, but here almost everything stops in 1981, giving space to bands and artists that almost always didn't make it beyond the 45 rpm mark. A representation of the true 'Outside of Everything' of the era.

Parasite kicks off with the title track, a rowdy throwback to a younger, angrier
incarnation of the band. Crafted in the wake of the election and during a tumultuous
period in the band members' private lives, "Parasite" is pure catharsis. "During the
making of our last album, I didn't want to scream anymore, I just wanted to sing and
focus on melody. When we came to this recording, I just wanted to scream and
curse," says guitarist/vocalist Julia Kugel. If the EP is meant as a journey through the
various stages of the band's career, it certainly storms out of the gate with the same
kind of piss-and-vinegar of their eponymous debut. And while "Wipe Out" is another
rowdy venture, with bassist Meredith Franco taking over the lead vocal duties over a
steady barrage of pointed power-chords, it also showcases the rousing choruses that
elevated the trio from underground heroines to an internationally renowned garage
act. Despite the adverse times, The Coathangers' mastery of pop cannot be contained
forever, as is evident in the EP's single "Captain's Dead", with its sultry verses,
triumphant chorus, and a bombastic freak-out of noisy guitar. The journey through
The Coathangers' musical evolution leads to a revamped version of "Down Down" off
2016's Nosebleed Weekend LP and the smoky twang of "Drifter", in which
drummer/vocalist Stephanie Luke demonstrates her knack for solid Dusty Springfieldstyle
ballads.

"On a faim!" was originally an anarchist music fanzine created in 1984. An entire network, with no geographical ties, grew up around the fanzine, helping to write articles and distribute them (often by hand). The fanzine's name even began to appear in connection with the organisation of concerts (Ludwig Von 88, Raymonde et les Blancs Becs, les Thugs, Les Ejectés, Kortatu, Yo Pizza Jump, etc.) and the creation of radio programmes. The On A Faim ! label came into being at the end of the 80s, following the release of a host of live tapes and themed compilations: "A Bas Toutes Les Armées", "Cette Machine Sert A Tuer Tous Les Fascistes", "Ni Jah Ni Maitre", "Pogo Avec Les Loups". Then came the first artistic albums with Désert Culturel, Un Dolor, Have Nots, Kargols, Pleum, Mister Moonlight, Rude Boy System... Here again, the artistic choices were made primarily on the basis of human encounters, the attention paid to the bands' approach and discourse, and their attitude to the public... even before listening to the slightest demo!

Archives de la Zone Mondiale wanted to pay tribute to this inspiring label, which marked the history of independent and committed music for nearly 15 years. With one of its founders, Jean Pierre Levaray, we have cleverly concocted a sort of musical anthology retracing the essential bands that have marked the history of the label and the fanzine.

On A Faim ! - Anarchy & Musik is a double 20-track vinyl compilation in a highly graphic gatefold sleeve, retracing the label's extraordinary trajectory regardless of musical style: punk, of course, but also ska, hardcore and popular chanson...

Last but not least, all the royalties from this double vinyl compilation are donated to the Uzine (Le Havre) and Fanzinarium (Paris) fanzine libraries.

The Intima led a chameleon-like existence from 1999 to 2004, confounding critics who struggled to describe their distinctive sound while sharing stages with everyone from The Rapture to The Mekons. Hailing from Olympia and Portland, the postpunk quartet utilized sharp rhythms, prescient lyrics, and a collaborative compositional approach to conjure forth a sound that manages to be explosive yet detailed, experimental yet propulsive and melodic. Featuring a classically-trained violinist, custom-tuned guitars that careen at odd angles, and an imaginative and powerful rhythm section, the band explored the intersection of art-punk and agitpop with a spirit and tenor uniquely their own. In 2017, the Polish website More Noise summed up their sound by saying that "the first association that comes to mind is The Ex and the Dutch avant punk scene of the 1980s, but fans of the bands Dirty Three, Godspeed You Black Emperor and Unwound may also be intrigued."The group toured the States extensively during the 4+ years that they were active, including one grueling six-week tour undertaken just after 9/11 and another one in 2003 during which the US began bombing Iraq. The group's live sets are remembered for their combination of unbridled intensity and tightly-coiled musicianship, as well as their chaos potential, whether that chaos was performing in the middle of an illegal street party or causing a PA to burst into flames immediately preceding a headlining set by Deerhoof. A memorable show in DC with Q And Not U was mentioned by Dischord group Black Eyes in their Speaking In Tongues booklet last year, with Hugh McElroy describing the Intima as "a really aggressively-beautiful and poetic punk band with a violin where a guitar normally would be...pushing genre barriers in a way that helped me see a vision of how we might want to do that ourselves."Peril and Panic was recorded in Olympia over eight months in 2002 and was released in 2003 on LP (Zum/Collective Jyrk) and CD (Slowdance). THE KARL HENDRICKS TRIO is a Pittsburgh rock institution. Having released nine full-lengths and six singles of uncompromising, emotionally charged, very loud rock over the course of twenty years, it's probably safe to call them an American rock institution as well. A former bedroom 4-track confessionalist, Karl Hendricks formed the Trio late in 1991. The band has undergone numerous line-up changes since, having had four different drummers, four different bass players, and during the two separate spans when the band augmented to a four-piece dubbed appropriately enough, the Karl Hendricks Rock Band, two different rhythm guitarists. The one constant has been, of course, Karl himself. The Trio debuted on record with 1992's Buick Electra, released on Karl's own Peas Kor label. From the mid '90s to the early 2000s the trio released several albums on Merge Records, and in 2007, Hendricks self-released the one and only Karl Hendricks Rock Band album, The World Says, on his Surplus Anxiety imprint. Comedy Minus One's release of The Adult Section in 2012 officially marks the end of the Karl Hendricks Rock Band Mark II and the return of the stripped-down Trio line-up. Karl's sound and his approach to songwriting have only gotten more nuanced and thoughtful with age. Musically, the Trio remains rooted in a muscular yet melodic sound built on a massive wall of guitars, and a bass and drum assault that powers things forward as much as it anchors them down. It's a straightforward aesthetic but it has allowed Karl's guitar playing to develop into a more sprawling and heroic version of the spirited six-string blasts of his youth. A few years back someone released a 10″ boxset comprising of a box, badge, poster and a 10″ lathe cut EP with just 6 tracks taken from the set played at Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium (Aug 26th 1990).

You didn’t get much in the way of music for your hard earned €’s, £’s or $’s….And it was claimed that there were only 10 (?) set’s made.

What you get here is basically the full gig with a great sound pressed on 200 grm coloured vinyl and housed in a high quality, heavy guage sleeve with a beautiful glossy finish. No hand numbering, you can put your own number in up to 100 although it seems 200 have been pressed and what’s more it comes with a fab poster, identical to the poster in the box set !

We’re told only 200 of these were pressed (although a bunch in black no doubt) and we have a couple of boxes coming…As usual it’s a case of 1st come, 1st served.

LP + Downloadcode.BONA DISH were a scratchy pop punk group from Hertfordshire villages, brought together by their love of the Velvets, Supremes and each other. They were cool, handsome and gorgeous. The songs are simple but at the same time complex. The two girls, two boy's line-up added a tension that was both sexual and musically fragile. You felt it might all fall apart any second but it rarely did. After their "cassette in a tube" ploy worked for John Peel play, the band released a cassette on InPhaze and disbanded not long after. Collected here is a rediscovered gem showcasing the zest and spontaneity that gripped the UK DiY scene of the time, standing up to their contemporaries like TELEVISION PERSONALITIES, THE HOMOSEXUALS and MARINE GIRLS. This release marks the first vinyl and cd release for Bona Dish, their complete recorded output compiled and newly mastered.

The Ramonas are probably the best tribute band to the legendary The Ramones, the New York forefathers of punk. Formed in the UK in 2004, the all-female band perfectly captures the ultimate garage punk rock sound of 1976 and brings it to the stage in energetic performances. True to their motto "Touring, touring is never borning", the Ramonas' constant touring in recent years has earned them a reputation as one of the hardest-working bands in the scene. 10 Years Anniversary compilation LP.

Ten years ago, on 21 April 2014, Russian enclave of the Baltic Kaliningrad-based trio Blind Seagull started off its adventure in the soon to be known as Sovietwave aka Russian post-punk underground. Tean years later they have accomplished to release nine full-length albums on all sorts of limited edition formats such as LPs, CDs, tapes with most of them being sold out for years.

It was time to bring many of these tracks back to life, picking up the best among them and reissuing for the global post punk/darkwave niche. Fifteen cuts previously released by labels like Detriti, Sierpien, Pine Hill through which the band led by Denis Zarubin has shaped its own brand of icy coldwave, one pretty classic and extremely fresh and contemporary at once. On top of these we have one more track exclusive to this release which is a eurodance-oriented remix for their minor hit Animals Die in the Scaffolding. Think of a bunch of goth kids screwing around at the local carnival and you’ll get the vibe!

Decade Of Effort is due on April 21, 2024 on white vinyl LP limited to 300 with fairy-tale artwork by the band enhanced by the magical lettering of young Spanish artist Sara Fornés.

Last House is the third album from Sacramento’s Th’ Losin Streaks. The album was recorded at Louder Studios in Grass Valley, California, with Tim Green behind the board. Green played piano on several tracks, and Anton Barbeau—a friend of the band since the beginning—plays organ on some cuts. All of the band members—Tim Foster, Stan Tindall, Mike Farrell and Brian Machado—contributed to the songwriting, and the album also features a cover of The Weeds classic “It’s Your Time.” The album cover and other photos were shot by their pal (and Bay Area punk legend) Al Sobrante. "This album is about true love and good times. And bad decisions. It’s about breaking down. It’s about coming apart. It’s about sleeping rough. It’s about Dyer Lane. It’s about shaking it til you make it. It’s about EKO, Silvertone and Supro, Vox (Super Continental) and the Hohner Marine Band. It’s about 2” tape. It’s about the plague, and politics, and war or hands of time. It’s about the ice cream man after the apocalypse. It’s a trans-world punk rave up.
