Londoners Buster Shuffle are back with a brand-new studio album, announced for release 18th March 2022. The new 10 track album is called 'Go Steady'. After the devastating effects of the pandemic and other recent UK/Europe touring difficulties that have directly impacted UK artists, Buster Shuffle have decided to Crowd Fund the record, using fan power to help them spread the Shuffle gospel far and wide. Jet says 'its been such a tough few years with the pandemic and so we thought we'd ask our loyal fans that have grown with us over 10 years plus, to help us get the album out there. It's not something that we have ever done before but we have seen other bands successfully engage with their fans to release music and we think the time is now for us'. Jet reached out to fellow punk music aficionados in the height of lockdown to release a hard-hitting AA side 7 inch single "Unsung Heroes" for charity. Bands that jumped to Jet's aide to feature on the songs, which raised key funds for the World Health organisation included members of Die Toten Hosen, Flogging Molly, Donots, Hepcat, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rhoda Dakar, Toy Dolls, Talco and more. After this massively successful campaign and a great response from the fanbase, Jet and the boys decided to get back in the studio to put together a new batch of songs that form the upcoming 5th studio album that promises to feature their biggest songs to date. Go Steady will feature 10 tracks of Ska Punk, Rockney tunes including current single "New Badge For My Uniform" and will also feature the highly successful 7"single 'Sucker Punch Blues' which was released back in May 2021. "We wanted to add Sucker Punch Blues as its been such a hit with the fans. We all thought it had to go to on the new album because it's such a banger and we know people will be happy about it" says Jet. It's always nice to put out something from your hometown. It's even better when that something is this good. Cherry Cheeks is the work of fellow Orlando resident (recently relocated to Portland) Kyle Harms. Started in early 2020, Cherry Cheeks was born out of countless hours stuck in front of a computer screen with a raging pandemic outside. Kyle put his boredom, boiling over anger, and frustration to work and started a new project. He put out a few bandcamp EPS and limited run tapes that a mutual friend back home turned me onto. He also informed me that there was even better stuff that hadn't yet been released. I hit Kyle up, he sent me a few tracks, and boy was my friend right. EGG Punk, Devo-core, Quarantine Punk.. whatever the kids are calling it these days this is 12 tracks of bass driven, pop stained, punk agitation. I'm very proud of this record and am ecstatic to say it is indeed 100% Total Punk!!!!

While the average person might think of Buffalo, NY, for its frigid winters and its contributions to the world of professional football, the initiated know Buffalo best for its outsized role in hardcore’s history. The city has produced more than its fair share of genre-defining acts, not least of which was the criminally short-lived, under-documented, and wildly innovative Cinderblock, whose members would go on to such legendary bands as Snapcase, Buried Alive, Earth Crisis, Terror, and more. Thirty years after their initial existence, Cinderblock has reconvened in order to commit their music to vinyl for the first time. Breathe The Fire is a collection of six songs originally conceived in the early ’90s, re-recorded by the band with accomplished producer Jay Zubricky at the helm. With tight grooves, adept melodic sensibilities, and a pummeling heaviness that presaged nearly the entire breadth of ’90s hardcore, the record is a critical document of one of hardcore’s most exciting and transitional periods. Kjehl Johansen, guitarist and songwriter for the Circlons, first surfaced in 1978 with the influential minimalist punk band THE Urinals. Kjehl went on to play in other notable projects such as Trotsky Icepick, which released 7 albums on SST Records, and the lo-fi pop trio Narrow Adventure, who have a current album out on Austin-based Spacecase Records. His latest project is the Circlons, featuring Hunter Crowley on drums, Steve Andrews on rhythm and lead guitar, and TOM Hofer on bass. These seasoned veterans played in Trotsky Icepick, THE Last, and the Leaving Trains. The Circlons’ first release explores the dark underbelly of the music business in all its cynicism and glory. On the lead-off track, “I Wanna Be On Your Radio (Not In Your Arms),” vocalist John Talley-jones (Urinals, 100 Flowers) plants his tongue firmly in cheek and portrays a ruthless careerist using his girl- friend’s tears to write a song and get a record deal. True to form, our antagonist dumps the girl and doesn’t look back as told in this taut, rocking pop song. Next up is the title track where singer Adam Marsland (cockeyed Ghost) uses the weather and the natural disasters of Los Angeles to wearily describe a music executive leaving behind a trail of emotional carnage. Featuring a string quartet, this song is aptly titled “When Only the Music Is Pretty.” Lisa Kekaula’s (bell-rays) vocals on “Blue Cheer” take a serious turn and will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. This R&B-influenced song takes its inspiration from those who have survived the cruelty of domestic violence as they try to find their voice and have their music heard. The EP finishes with an epic improvisation inspired by the German band Can. Nestled in the swirling chaos of sounds, Barbara MANNING’s spoken words come to us from the void of creation and self-doubt, beyond death and time. Heavy stuff!

After only three months of playing shows, DAG Nasty went into Inner Ear Studios with IAN Mackaye. Dag With Shawn was recorded on Halloween Day 1985 and features the original line-up of the band with Shawn Brown on vocals. Initially songs from this session were to be released as a four-song 7-inch on Dischord, but shortly after the recording Shawn left Dag Nasty and the tape was shelved. In early 1986 the band re-recorded the entire album with new vocalist Dave Smalley and released it as Can I Say. Shawn went on to form the much loved Swiz and Dag Nasty went through several more line-up changes over the years, including another vocal switch when Dave Smalley was replaced by Peter Cortner. This original session has only been previously available as partial out-takes and unauthorized bootlegs and, until now, has never been released in its complete form. This recording, taken from restored master tapes, offers a unique view into the early development of one of DC’s most influential bands. LP includes a download.

Recently rediscovered Birmingham art punk recorded in 1978-1982. An all-male combo, despite the name, the Dangerous Girls released their first single in 1979, “Dangerous Girls/I Don’t Want To Eat (With The Family)” and started touring the UK offering use of the PA, lights and equipment to local bands who wish to play. Their second single, the 'Taaga' ep released in the same year on the Happy Face label, reached number one in the last indie charts of the 70's. Reminding of early-era Gang Of Four, Minimum Joy, Slits, Wire, and all things post-punk or as John Peel himself defined them, 'spasm rock'. After a BBC session and a couple more singles, the Demolition Girls unfortunately broke up right while recording an album. This compilation is brought to life by the punk archivists at Rave Up Records and contains their full 1978-1982 production.

As one of the most sonically challenging and visually unique bands of their generation, Daufødt swept the floor of the underground with their debut “1000 Island” and won a Norwegian Grammy in the Rock category. They could easily become the Next BIG Name IN Rock, but – no thanks! got other things to do. Instead, the Daufødt-gang circled back to the underground, hooked up with Lasse Marhaug, associated Sunn0)))-member and recent producer of Jenny Hval and Thurston Moore.

On their upcoming sophmore album “Aromaterapi”, Marhaug has challenged the band on all levels and pumped them into Absolute Sonic MAYHEM-mode, giving associations to similar noise-rock-mongers as Napalm Death, Swans, The Body and Årabrot. Likewise, the scorning lyrics of the debut that made local billionaires spam singer Annika with self-righteous messages have been sharpened into something even more destructive and dangerous.

When we now can announce the first single from the album, one thing is for sure: Daufødt has big amps, but even bigger ambitions. “Knekken” (translated: “the crack, like in cracking you teeth..)

The dictionary describes to crack like this: “to break something so that it does not separate, but very thin lines appear on its surface”.Daufødt, on the other hand, shows us that the crack, Knekken, is the musical equivalent of being hit by a freight train full of decibels. The crack is about getting your snout crushed, regardless of the direction of the sky, and with an unknown sender.

Daufødt consists of bassist Eskild Myrvoll (Mall Girl, Kanaan, Blodkvalt), vocalist, visual artist and designer Annika Linn Verdal Homme, guitarist Eirik Albrethsen Reithaug and drummer Mads Antonsen Gerzić.

The band says: “This album is clearly something else than the first album. It’s harder, faster and more violent – and made to better fit the times we live in. The first album was written in 2019, while Aromatherapi was written in 2021, when the world looked quite different. The bold creative choices we have made with Lasse are made not to be naive, but to actually be honest with ourselves and the audience about how things really are.”

De Brassers were one of the most notorious bands in the Belgian new wave/punk history. With their no nonsense attitude they scared the shit out of the local catholic community of Hamont. De Brassers were a local mixture of the Sex Pistols (in the lowest gear) and Joy Division (they always performed a cover version of Joy Division’s Shadowplay), combining a criticism of bureaucracy and politics with experiences of psychological and existential tensions.

The doomed sound they produced channels the dark atmosphere of the late seventies and early eighties: the fear of atomic bombs, cold war pessimism, police violence against squatters, the first cases of Aids, and the grim years of Reagan & Thatcher.

Dead Ending is a no-frills, '80s-hardcore-influenced band featuring members of Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Articles Of Faith and The Bomb. On tour in 2006, Bomb guitarist Jeff Dean met and befriended Vic Bondi, the frontman of legendary Chicago punk heroes Articles of Faith. They bonded over hyper-aggressive '80s bands and discussed the possibility of starting a group themselves. When he got home, Dean got busy and wrote some tunes, then recruited longtime friend and Alkaline Trio drummer Derek Grant to help him lay the tracks down. Bondi liked the songs and signed on. Joe Principe of Rise Against came aboard on bass soon after that, and boom! Dead Ending was born. Dead Ending will make their live debut at Punk Rock Bowling in Vegas this year and will do shows and small touring runs whenever their busy lives all align. Debut full length from the long standing PDX unit, Decomp. Bitter, Angry and Aggressive in every sense. Following a couple EP’s and a few line up changes, this LP gives you a vulgar display of tightness and brutality performed by a band in their prime. Condemned to Earth finds them crossing that line into metal even further than before (complete with sick guitar leads) but still a chalk load of stench here to keep the crusties drunkenly bobbing their heads. There are plenty of nods to the usual suspects (i.e., Sacrilege, Bolt Thrower, et al.) with hardcore punk hooks bringing to mind Framtid, Ent and the like. The result is an uncomfortable soundscape of chugging riffs, breakdowns, plenty of tempo changes, with a thick layer of guttural, spiteful vocals. There are only so many times you can get away with using the word “brutal” to describe certain records, but this one is Brutal in every sense of the word. End of times crust for the filthy black waxed jacket punks and flowing locked heshers alike.

DAS ALBUM... enthält 14 Songs, die durch verschiedene Aufenthalte der einzelnen Bandmitglieder (Jakarta, Portland, Madrid, Oldenburg etc.), ein Jahr der Aufnahme benötigte. Lyrisch stehen persönliche, politische sowie solzialkritische Themen in Wechselwirkung und so werden die Texte von treibendem, melodieprägnatem Punkrock getragen. Dieser Sound wird von Außenstehenden immer wieder mit Bands wie Turbostaat, Pascow oder auch Leatherface verglichen, jedoch im gleichen Satz auch immer auf die eigenständige, sowie authentische Art hingewiesen. Gemixt und gemastert wurde das Ganze in der Oldenburger Tonmeisterei von "Role" himself, der bereits Knöpfe bei Escapado, Just Went Black, Tackleberry, The Now-Denial etc. gedreht hat.
