LOUIS LINGG AND THE BOMBS are goddamn punk-rock-garage-pop-anarcho saviours of the 2 and half minute pop song. They come from Paris where they regularly blow up little bars with explosions of snot and beer fuelled punk rock energy. The group is named after Louis Lingg, the famous Chicago anarchist who committed suicide on death row in 1887. Some of their songs are ultra-political anarchist punk rock and some of their songs are like children's nursery rhymes. ALL of their song's are full of interesting pop hooks and melodies and they are sung with energy and commitment.Their influences are punk bands like The Briefs, The Epoxies, Antiflag, Pansy Division and The Dickies. They have a strong love of '77 style punk like The Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Adverts and The Undertones. Never forgetting that they are children of the 90s having grown up with bands such as Nirvana, Bikini Kill, Sleater Kinney and The Butthole Surfers. BETTY AND THE WEREWOLVES are three girls and one boy from London who whoop and howl through the night as sweetly sung melodies collide with glitter-struck punk guitars. Taking inspiration from luminary lycanthropes Virginia Woolf and Grandma Wolf, they sing ditties about falling in love with David Cassidy and strange encounters on night buses, shouting all the while and scuffing up their party shoes. This is their wonderful second single following their debut 7" last year on DG called 'Euston Station' and it's a homage to 70's super pop pin-up and Partridge Family member, "David Cassidy". It's backed with another live favourite "Plastic". The Werewolves recorded this just after their recent tour dates with FUCKED UP, who have been telling anyone that will listen that BATW are their favourite band in the world. This single will hopefully plug the gap for those who can't wait for the debut album which is due out later in the year.

This is the first single from the new album 'Triple Distilled' and it's already getting played on BBC 6Music, 'Begging You' was recorded at Ranscombe Studios in Grahams hometown Rochester and it's backed with an exclusive b-side a great instrumental called 'Sitar Spangled Banner'. After a year of touring and the release of their 'Travelled And Unravelled' EP earlier this year, the Gaolers returned to the studio in July 2008 to record their follow up to the critically acclaimed debut album 'Soundtrack To The Daily Grind' with their second album 'Triple Distilled' at Ranscombe Studios in Rochester, Kent which is due for release in October 2008. 'Triple Distilled' is made up of 12 blistering new tracks with fairly autobiographical lyrics telling tales of their life on the road, drinking and smoking. As usual they are the amalgamation of Graham's tuneful and aggressive songs, driven with an energy and attitude, which has been perfectly captured in a simple no-frills studio recording. Buzz couldn't make the recording so Johnny Barker (Ex of The Buff Medways) has stepped in and will also be part of the band that hits the road again around the albums release for another European tour and a headline show at the legendary 100 CLUB in London on October 29th Dan Elektro from the great US band The Woggles is on drums. GRAHAM DAY - Founder member of The Prisoners, Prime Movers & The Solar Flares as well as drummer in The Mighty Caesers and bassist in The Buff Medways alongside old friend Billy Childish.

During the late 1970s, after No Wave pioneer Lydia Lunch met saxophonist James Chance, she began setting her angry and disjointed poetry to anti-music, founding her ground-breaking band Teenage Jesus and The Jerks with Lunch’s shouted lyrics matched by her non-conventional use of electric guitar. The group’s self-titled debut EP is a fast and furious affair, produced by Robert Quine of the Voidoids/Lou Reed, with future Nick Cave drummer Jim Sclavunos on bass and Bradley Field on minimalist percussion; steeped in aggression and audacity, it’s an awesome disc that rebuffs punk’s easy cliches and refuses to be categorized. This reissue also includes the ‘Pre’ EP and the tracks from the legendary No New York compilation. Essential!

With rabid audiences worldwide clamoring for a taste of Seattle rockers The Drowns’ latest album Blacked Out, a 7” single release was inevitable! This presented the band and Pirates Press Records with a unique conundrum, however: how do you pick a single with an entire album chock full of wall-to-wall rock ’n roll anthems and no “B-sides”? The only possible answer is this: the double A-side single “Just the Way She Goes” / “1979 Trans Am.” On an album of swaggering, glam-in- fused rock with punk heart, these two standout singles are bound to get fans’ motors revving and hips swaying, all the while building even greater anticipation for the forthcoming album! Both of these singles pay tribute to very different vehicles and the lifestyles that go with them. “Just the Way She Goes” examines the life of a rock band’s relationship with their cantankerous tour van, as a metaphor for perseverance and optimism in the face of life’s adversity. “We all break down from time to time,” relates singer & bassist Andy Wylie, while the music propels the listener forward with enough spirit and energy to overcome any setback. “1979 Trans Am” on the other hand, fronted by singer-guitarist Aaron Rev Peters, is The Drowns’ take on the classic rock ’n roll story of “boy-meets-girl, boy & girl go for a joyride in a classic muscle car,” with a steady backbeat that will get any listener moving!

The punk movement also came fully clothed. Mal-One’s new single talks about the fashion side of Punk that ran parallel to the music. These clothes were supplied from Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwoods emporium situated at 430 King’s Road, the epicentre of the Punk Movement itself. The clothes were not cheap and you needed deep pockets to buy them. But you also needed an attitude to wear them, as many factions were not so appreciative of them, especially the ‘Teddy Boys’. You had to run the gauntlet of the King’s Road on a Saturday from Sloane Square to the Worlds End. A tricky mile, in which you always had to keep your eyes open from enemy attack.

The clothes were pieces of art and deserve their time in the spotlight and perhaps even in song. Hope you appreciate the gesture.

In the early days of punk amidst the gritty pop riffing and cocaine blasted glam holdovers of Cbgb, Max’s Kansas City and the like, Negatives sauntered into life as an anti-poser power trio who enjoyed writing music that was anything but pop. Consisting of reconfigured fallout from The Erotics and Inside Out (no, not that Inside Out), they employed a jagged, machine tight, hyped up guitar centric new wave approach to skewer what little public actually saw them with biting tracks about drugging, paranoia, anxiety and the mindless contentment of standard humans. Big city shit… Without much support, they managed to gig for about 6 months or so before disappearing into the hazy annals of the “me decade”. They did manage to track a few songs and release this lone EP that was all but lost until a lucky thumb met a curious eye in a New York record bin. With some help from friends, we were able to rescue this incredible EP from obscurity and we are beyond excited to offer this KBD monster to you now, freshly remastered from the original and finally in a picture sleeve. 500 copies on black 70gr vinyl housed in a 12 pt reverse board custom ILR silver lined glue pocket sleeve. Originally recorded in a now long defunct rehearsal studio in midtown Manhattan around 1979/1980. Exact dates are unknown as the master tapes were lost a long time ago. Recut and remastered by John Golden in 2023. Art by Jensen Ward.
