Youth OF TODAY’s final studio recording has all the energy this influential hardcore band is known for on this three-track EP. The lyrics have some of the same philosophical and spiritual influences that dominated Ray’s next band, Shelter, which recorded its first album the same year.

Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia in 1985, the ‘debut’ full-length by Where’s the Pope? established the band as a bridge between greasy, hardcore punk thrills and manic thrash attacks. After a hiatus and a slight line-up change, Sunday Afternoon BBQs diverts from the typified, aural reference points in critical UK punk icons such as Disorder and Discharge but sees the band refined as they carve out a passage soaked entirely in their own electric stink. This is a record rejoicing in the lore of beery adolescents on the edge of the city streets with the dark, frenetic menace of ‘Geek Attack’, or the tumultuous sludge of ‘Tourist Dream’ insurmountably evidential in just how profoundly important the band was to the Australian circuit.

But their debut was more a clever parody about eighties-style-hipster-bands. Three years later and wiser the supergroup (with members of Urlaub in Polen, Oliver Twist, Aggro Cologne) returns with an uncompromising album that gets ahead of all expectations and will surprise their audience and critics who will be shocked. This is not a band following the latest trend. Detached from the usual style issues Von Spar have exorsized the Zeitgeist and overtaken the discourse. There is no scheme. Anything goes. Their new musical language is inspired by seventies Krautrock taking lines of flight to Fluxus art, Minimal Music and early TripHop. Apart from ringtone-compatible hits Von Spar reanimate the classical album-format. The two 20-minute long songs combine the spirit of exploration from Can and Kraftwerk with the conceptual aesthetics of Steve Reich and John Cage and techniques of dark, psychedelic multi-layering by Neurosis and Bohren & Der Club of Gore. All references are permantly ruptured, adopted and newly interweaved. With two new members the five-headed pack recorded in the legendary Electric Avenue Studio, Hamburg, with producer Tobias Levin (Tocotronic, Blumfeld, Kante). Their new labelbase Tomlab offers the congenial platform for this unusual journey. The new album of Von Spar reclaims music as a truthful place for concentration and collective energy from which newness enters the world.

In some ways, Versus were the quintessential indie rock band.” —Pitchfork Versus are pioneers of the early ’90s indie rock revolution. Formed in 1990 in New York City by Detroit-bred brothers Richard and Ed Baluyut and Texan Fontaine Toups, Versus named themselves after Mission Of Burma’s debut album. After recording a few singles on various labels, Let’s Electrify! was self-released by the band on CD and was out-of-print shortly thereafter. It was the first and last release on their Remora imprint. This is the first time it will be available on vinyl and the first time in 28 years that it will be available on any format.The six-song Let’s Electrify is their debut and was released September of 1993 just eight months before their stellar debut album, The Stars Are Insane. This is just as good and while it has six songs, it clocks in at a healthy 25 minutes. It was recorded by Adam Lasus (Yo La Tengo, Helium, Lilys). Remastered in 2021 by Scott Anthony of Storybook Sound. This marks a return to the Teen-Beat label for the band after stints with Merge and Caroline. The original line up is still together together and still based in New York. They released a new album in 2019 on the Ernest Jennings label. They will be playing live shows in the future when conditions allow.

Any ’90s punk fan will surely remember coveting a copy of Go Ahead Punk... Make My Day—a classic sampler CD from Nitro Records. Originally released in 1996, the album delivered early cuts from some of the biggest names in West Coast punk, including AFI, the Offspring, and the Vandals. Available for the very first time on vinyl, Go Ahead Punk... Make My Day features ten high-energy tracks from AFI, Guttermouth, Jughead’s Revenge, The Vandals, and The Offspring, including the latter band’s cover of “Hey Joe”—a long-sought-after fan favorite, which was previously exclusive to this compilation. From the very beginning, Turning Point was unique and not what you’d expect from a hardcore band. While the band only existed for a very short time, over 30 years later, its influence is still being felt. Respected for their challenging political lyrics, Integrity and continual inventive spins on a brutal and straightforward formula of rock-driven, blasting hardcore. After a series of Farewell shows in Sweden and in the U.S. in 2003, Totalitar decided to do one final recording and album- Vi Ar Eliten (We are the Elite) which features seventeen rock-hard tracks. A combustive steamroller of their trademark desperate angry vocals, pounding rhythm section and searing guitar leads, their third full length album is one of their finest. Mastered at Fantasy Studios. This repress is true to the original pressing, 1500 Pressed at RTI from the original Plates mastered in 2007 by George Horn. Originally out on the glorious Mutant Pop Records in the year 2000, New York’s cult pop punkers Kung Fu Monkeys’ debut album makes it on vinyl for the very first time. The Kung Fu Monkeys are a dream inside a reverie inside a biscuit inside the mind of a fly, playing lo-fi kiddie pop and bug beat music and travelling the globe by hot air balloon.

Live @ Granada Theater' is The Get Up Kids one and only live album, originally released in 2005. This album is a much-loved gem within the band's discography, combining much of their greatest hits and successfully capturing their impressive live show. This is the very first pressing of this title on vinyl, as part of Hassle Records collaboration with Vagrant Records, in celebration of their 25th anniversary. Record is pressed onto double transparent light blue vinyl with red splatter, and is packaged in a hand-numbered gatefold outer sleeve.

One of the first hardcore bands to come out of the North East of England; starting in 1982. The Fiend were well renowned for their loud hard hitting uncompromised sound which has been described as like throwing a "nail bomb into a crowded church" and a "live assault on the senses". This release compiles the five demos from the band's original run in the '80s. Some of the tracks were released as the "Stand Alone EP" in 1985 and the track 'What Future' featured on the "We Won't Be Your Fucking Poor" compilation on Mortarhate. In 2006, THE Draft was formed by Hot Water Music members Jason Black, George Rebelo, and Chris Wollard shortly after singer/guitarist Chuck Ragan's departure. The three remaining members of the band wanted to continue making music together but chose not to continue under the Hot Water Music name, opting for a fresh start instead. The initial writing and demo sessions included the legendary punk rock guitarist Brian Baker (known for Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion). However, due to conflicting schedules, Baker couldn't commit as a full-time member, leading fellow Florida resident and former Discount member Todd Rockhill to join the band. After releasing their debut album "In a Million Pieces" (produced by the esteemed Brian McTernan) on Epitaph Records in 2006, the band embarked on extensive tours with acts like Samiam, The Gaslight Anthem, and Paint It Black. They also released several singles on the renowned No Idea Label before disbanding in 2008. With both "In a Million Pieces" and all 7" records being out of print for years, THE Draft has now teamed up with End Hits Records and Equal Vision Records to release a deluxe vinyl version on double vinyl. For the first time, you can find every track ever recorded by THE Draft: Included are the twelve album tracks, six songs featured on three 7" records, two unreleased demo versions, as well as four songs recorded during a radio session in the UK that have never been released before. Not only were all songs remastered specifically for vinyl by Brian McTernan, and detailed liner notes have been added to tell the band's history from beginning to end, but the packaging has also been completely overhauled. A special feature for collectors: the European and American versions come in different gatefold covers, which together form a complete work of art.

The Cogs are a fun loving, hook crazy fast and furious pop-punk band from New York City. "No Expectations" is an unashamed two minutes of 90mph stop start punk rock while b-side "Vacation Bible School" is a slightly more laid back affair from the same sessions.

Formed in 1995 in Karlstad, Sweden by Rob Coffinshaker, these graveyard country pioneers have been steadily putting out records, most of which have now become highly sought-after collector items. The Coffinshakers successfully merged the imagery of German expressionist cinema with traditional country sounds of Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, occasionally flirting with Ennio Morricone -style melodies and the 60’s surf-garage sounds of The Ventures. Topped with full-bodied lyrics and Rob Coffinshaker’s haunting, low register voice, this combination gained them a cult following in the late 90’s and 2000’s, and they even creeped up to the Finnish top 40 with their self-titled album in 2007.

Svart Records are proud to announce the official Coffinshakers vinyl reissues, which have been in the works for a couple of years now. These reissues include the full length albums We Are The Undead (1998) and The Coffinshakers (2007), both of which come in repro-sleeves with original artwork. There’s also a deluxe box set edition titled “The Curse of the Coffinshakers 1996-2016”, which includes both albums, 2 bonus LPs (From the Crypt – Rare and Unreleased vol. I and vol. II) and a thick booklet with a lengthy interview and archive material. The bonus LPs are only available in the box set and they include rare compilation tracks, EP releases and a handful of unreleased tunes from Rob Coffinshaker’s personal vaults.

Re-issue of classic punk band The Chameleon's - Live From London on Clear Vinyl! Forerunners of the 'Madchester' scene of the late 1980, The Chameleons laid the early foundations of what was to become a music revolution. The band consisted of Mark Burgess, Guitarists Dave Fielding and Reg Smithies and Drummer John Lever. Live from Camden Palace, 1984 as part of the 'Live From London' series, this concert features the hits 'In Shreds', 'Paper Tigers' and 'Here Today'.

After exploding onto the scene and turning just about every head in the reggae and ska world with their debut LP "Dirty Reggae", this upstart group of hooligans set their sights on bigger stages, and new opportunities. With those leagues of new fans and burgeoning aspirations came lasting friendships and partnerships with Tim Armstrong and others in the Rancid/Hellcat/Epitaph family. They saw, heard and quickly dove in, supporting in the potential of this truly unique group any way possible. This, their self-titled LP debut on Hellcat Records (originally released in 2006) really became the fuel in the tank sending this band across the globe and back, bringing their ‘dirty reggae’ to the masses. Shockingly, the vinyl has been out of print for far too long - and being a key piece of the band's history, and a staple for many of us Pirates, we absolutely couldn’t let that persist. With huge thanks to Epitaph/Hellcat and everyone who has made this record what it is to so many millions of people, the Pirates are unbelievably proud to bring you this repress - a true gem, in all its brilliance!
