"I And I Survive" is a 1982 EP by Bad Brains, released on the heels of their iconic self-titled debut album. The recordings come from the "Rock for Light" sessions, and were produced by Ric Ocasek. The release was previously out of print for nearly four decades.

This reissue marks the third release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. A limited repress of debut 6-Track EP by Swedish legends Avskum. Original released in 1984, "Crucified By The System" is a growling, lo-fi intense dose of rampaging Swedish hardcore with hoarse vocals, pounding drums and rushing guitars. The fold-out cover is near-exact replica of the original 1984 7" EP, and this edition for the records 40th anniversary includes a reprint of a band info insert from the time of release, a 3" circular vinyl sticker and is pressed on lime green vinyl with hand stamped labels.

Probably the first experiment in mixing hardcore attitude with OI! songwriting ever made within the UK punk movement, Attak were born as a four piece in New Mills in l98l, but immediately reversed to a trio when their singer left for school commitments and released two incredible singles on the No Future label in this form, right before recruiting a new guitarist and record “Zombies”, that came out in l983 on the same label. Known for featuring Mackie from BLITZ’s sister on drums, (and sounding a lot like his band!), Attak definitely split up in late 1983. This criminally underrated classic gets reissued on vinyl with his original artwork and fully remastered. Limited to 500 copies on Color Vinyl, complete with big 60x40 cm folded poster!

Article 58, named after the Soviet classification for counter-revolutionaries, were formed in Scotland by Gerri McLaughlin (vocals), Douglas MacIntyre (guitars) and Ewan MacLennan (bass), with Stephen Lironi (drums) on these recordings. The group existed for a short period of time, burning brightly before burning out. A single, ‘Event To Come’, was produced by Postcard Records’ Alan Horne and Malcolm Ross and released on Josef K manager Allan Campbell’s Rational label. Article 58 were the opening group on many bills in Scotland, including support slots circa 1981 with A Certain Ratio, Scars, Josef K, Delmontes, Bauhaus, Restricted Code, among others. Josef K invited Article 58 to support them on some dates in England to promote their only album, ’The Only Fun In Town’, after which Article 58 recorded tracks for an as-yet unreleased album. One track, ‘Reflection’, did surface on a cassette/ zine product (‘Irrational’) released by Rational Records. However the teenage tension and strain of all that accompanies being in a group proved too much and Article 58 split up at the end of 1981. ‘Event To Come’ was to be the only single released by Article 58. The B side, ‘Icon’, is a previously unreleased recording. Both tracks are presented in a brand new sleeve designed by The Creeping Bent Organisation for release on the Optic Nerve label.

Brilliant second album from the wholly original cult Sheffield post punk band. Released in 1983 on Red Flame ‘One Afternoon In A Hot Air Balloon’ is an adventure on its own. Artery somehow replaced the somber post-punk of the debut with a stream of melancholic pop paeans influenced by british folk and certain ballroom dances, with a spectral keyboard sound worth killing for. The secret weapon - when compared to the rest of their discography - is largely explained by the presence of keyboard player and (by now) main composer Christopher Hendrick. The band was in fact reduced to a trio with former members Mark Gouldthorpe (guitar) and Garry Wilson (drums) now supported by the singular effort of Hendrick (also on bass and xylophone). At the same time Garry Wilson was playing in an early incarnation of Pulp. Despite the early Joy Division influence - which the band firmly dismissed – Artery is moving forward into the so-called new romantic era. A vaudeville scenario light years ahead from the streets and the aggro-culture, a way to some pleasant and revealing experience.

Part of the late '70s/early '80s HC/punk explosion out of the Los Angeles area, where bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minutemen, and Bad Religion originated from, ANTI formed in 1979 by a then teenage Danny Phillips, better known as Danny Dean, who was the bassist / guitarist and first original vocalist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member throughout multiple lineup changes during the past 40 years. Their 1982 debut album,I Don't Want To Die In Your War, was recorded and mixed by legendary producer and sound engineer for Black Flag and Descendents, SPOT. It is a major example of California Hardcore from the early 80's. Despite having been completely underrated, ANTI's 1982 debut paved the way for a lot of California punk to come. Available again for the first time after almost four decades on its original format, with its original artwork and complete with insert thanks to Radiation Records.

Re-issued for the very first time on vinyl, finally we have the chance to collect the only two EP's published by the influential post-punk combo from Bristol. Both records have been released on Recreational in 1982 and still sound fresh and highly influential. Their infectious hybrid of d.i.y. punk attitude and straight funk rhythms made the difference throughout the local club scene. A mandatory re-issue ! Formed in 1977 in South Shields the Angelic Upstarts self-released debut single released in 1978 was ‘The Murder Of Liddle Towers’. The song highlighted the death of Liddle Towers who died after having been beaten in police custody, a crime that was covered up and no officers ever brought to justice. The record became a rallying point against police brutality. The record, and it’s B side ‘Police Oppression’ became a classic punk single and is a passionate call for justice. Mensi: “Liddle Towers was our protest single. It was the story of a boxing coach who was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. He was examined by a doctor and was perfectly healthy. Then in the morning was discovered dead and had injuries which the police surgeon described as being similar to that of a person who had been in a serious 70 miles-an-hour head-on collision. His injuries were absolutely horrific. He was basically kicked to death. “We done a couple of shows and got the money together and we pressed 500 singles, and then Small Wonder/Rough Trade re-released it, and it got to number one in the indie charts despite no radio play. Apart from John Peel, nobody else played it, and it was actually banned off any sort of play list in the northeast. Fair play I say.” The single is reissued as a limited edition of 500 on White vinyl, closely reproducing the first pressing from 1978.

Limited edition reissue of this classic Angelic Upstarts album, originally released in 1983 by Anagram Records. A UK independent chart nº12, it includes two of their best loved songs in Woman In Disguise and Solidarity. This pressing comes with a full colour insert with lyrics, press clippings and memorabilia from the era.

"Monolith" is the second studio album by the British crust punk band Amebix, originally released in 1987 and now made available again by Back On Black on limited edition blood red vinyl!

Formed as "The Band With No Name", Amebix's original run was from 1978 to 1987, during which time they released three EPs and two full-length LPs. "Monolith", the band's second studio album, was originally released in 1987. Shortly after its release, Amebix disbanded, and "Monolith" would be their final studio album until they reunited in 2008. By being one of the first bands to blend anarcho-punk and heavy metal music, Amebix are often cited as one of the key bands that helped to create the crust punk genre. Such notable bands as Sepultura, Neurosis and Deviated Instinct have paid homage to the band.

Formed in London in 1977 by Mark Perry and Alex Fergusson, then editors of the punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue, Alternative TV was a post-punk group known for incorporating reggae rhythms and pushing the boundaries of the definition of punk toward the experimental and avant-garde. Their first album, The Image Has Cracked, came out originally in 1978 and is a wholly unique piece of British post-punk. Beloved by John Peel, and close confidantes of Throbbing Gristle, Alternative TV is one of the most original and beguiling groups of the era.

Following hot on the heels of Ethbo's excursion to Russia, with Letov, Suchillin and Pillayev, Howard Williams' Ethbo swivels its telescope to Deptford, South London in 1978.

The band Alternative TV were, and remain, a radical creative force. Originally formed by Mark Perry (Mark P), and Alex Fergusson (later of Psychic TV) in the early days of punk, when Perry was editor of the pioneering punk fanzine, Sniffin' Glue.

Early rehearsals were held in Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records studio, with Genesis P-Orridge on drums. After line-up changes, the 1978 release of Life After Life saw Dennis Burns on bass, Chris Bennett on drums, Kim Turner on guitar and Mark P. on vocals. The session was produced by prolific Trojan Records artist and producer Joe Sinclair, and released on the independent label Deptford Fun City Records.

The song presents a “conscious” lyric through an urban music form of its time. And here’s the result, more than 40 years on, the dub still rocks. Perry’s vocal, like no other from the punk era, talks of the afterlife, in a twisted nod to Nietzsche, he chants “Wake Me Up When We Are Dead”.

A Venn diagram of Mark P and Mark E Smith, leader of The Fall, would show some common ground. Both band leaders survived numerous member changes throughout the decades, had a baleful eye on the producers and consumers of their music, and expressed themselves through a poetic, existential form of lyric writing and musical experimentation. In the early days Smith cited Alternative TV in a list of favourite music - alongside Johnny Cash.

Remastered with love, pressed at RAND, with sleeve and label artwork re-jigged by Will Bankhead, there's no better way to skank yourself to Armageddon.

Agnostic Front’s debut LP, Victim In Pain, went out of print again for a while, so Bridge Nine did a quick pressing to keep it available! This pressing features the original cover art printed as a low-contrast halftone on an almost-black matte cover. Agnostic Front and Victim In Pain are embossed and spot-UV printed so the band’s logo and album title pop off the jacket.

Adventurous southern California punk trio Agent Orange was the first band to mix surf rock with punk. The group was formed in1l979 in Placentia, a small town close to Fullerton and Anaheim, by frontman Mike Palm on guitar and lead vocals, Steve Soto on bass and Scott Miller on drums. That early line up recorded the classic version of "Bloodstains" in 1979 as a demo produced by Daniel R. van Patten (of the group Berlin). A year later it was included on the seminal Rodney On The Roq compilation album released by Posh Boy Records. Meanwhile James Levesque had replaced Steve Soto (Adolescents) and the new line up released their own self produced and self released 7" ep in 1980. A year later, the group signed with Robbie Fields' Posh Boy Records for their debut LP Living In Darkness, co-produced by Fields and former Simpletones guitarist Jay Lansford. The album was recorded at Brian Elliott’s store front studio in North Hollywood (a few years before Elliott struck gold writing Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach”). A milestone in California Punk Rock history. Limited to 800 handnumbered copies RSD 2020 edition, on Purple Vinyl with 5 bonus tracks, with double sided lyric insert!
