The Blaze ist ein französisches Musik-Duo, das aus den beiden Cousins Guillaume und Jonathan Alric besteht. Sie kombinieren die von ihnen geschaffenen Musikstücke oft mit Videos zu einem audiovisuellen Gesamtwerk. In ihrer Musik mixen beide Einflüsse aus Dub, House und Popmusik. Sowohl Guillaume als auch Jonathan Alric singen auf einigen ihrer Tracks. Als Einflüsse für ihre Musikvideos nennen sie die Regisseure Ken Loach sowie Jean-Pierre und Luc Dardenne und den Fotografen Sebastião Salgado. Nun hat Guillaume Alric mit Enfant Sauvage ein spannendes Solo-Projekt und veröffentlicht mit 'Petrichor' das Debütalbum "Mit Enfant Sauvage wollte ich mit drei Musikvideos, einem Album und Fotos einen Teil einer Welt zeigen, die ich sehr gut kannte. Durch Gesichter und Orte, Klänge und Texte wollte ich die Geschichte einer Ära erzählen, die ich mit der unschuldigen Inbrunst einer Jugend in der Wildnis durchlebte."

Plenty of buried treasure to be found, but these 2 little beauties grabbed our attention and seemed to fit well together. The lead track, If Life Could Be This Way, was a jam we had between the 3 of us, the vocal's a bit of a one take wonder from Dani, and we didn't touch it! It featured in our set and was the title of our last tour Nov 2021".

The grandson of one of Egypt’s most famed singers, the great Muharram Fouad, Tamino came to the guitar as a teenager only after finding a rare resonator in his late grandfather’s attic. He plays it now alongside the oud, dual links to his cultural past that he uses to understand and articulate his emotional present. And when Tamino, whose jawline could make Euclid blush, sings of mystery and wonder, romance and surrender, worry and hope, you see that he’s been to those places, returning to share what he’s witnessed in a voice as strong as it is delicate, captivating as it is comforting. Five years ago, Tamino became an unsuspecting star in his native Belgium, catapulted to major stages after winning a national radio contest. He had always expected to write intimate songs for small audiences, but here he was in front of ecstatic crowds that soon included Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, such a fan he began touring and recording with Tamino. His debut LP—2018’s enormous and immersive Amir—galvanized his emerging star, its musical dynamism and sweeping vocal range netting comparisons to Jeff Buckley and, of course, his grandfather.

The international frenzy that followed the release of his debut, surprised Tamino—shy and sensitive, a self-described recluse. The album has sold over 29k copies and 180 million streams worldwide, finding fans in the Middle East, across Europe and even the US. He found himself cast as the face of Missoni, hand-picked to support Lana Del Rey and appearing on NPR’s legendary Tiny Desk Concert. During the pandemic, Tamino slid into the shadows to write this new record but his fame grew as his dormant Instagram profile gained hundreds of thousands of followers through pure word of mouth.

Employing a vast array of advanced vocal and instrumental techniques, Broken Gargoyles is arguably Galas" most intellectually, sonically and viscerally formidable work to date. The album finds the visionary artist deftly probing the weaving, warping transformation on the nervous systems of her post-traumatic soldiers and dying diseas ed. Composed in 2020 during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the first presentation of Broken Gargoyles featured verses by German poet Georg Heym, "Das Fieberspital" and "Die Dämonen der Stadt." The work was finalized in 2020 in collaboration with the artist and sound designer Daniel Neumann. In "Das Fieberspital" Heym describes the horrific state of people suffering from yellow fever who live in paralyzing fear of death and swirling delirium owing to their brutal treatment and isolation in medical wards in early 20th-century Germany."Die Dämonen der Stadt" also addresses such grim portents of World War I; in this poem, the god Baal observes (like a gargoyle) a town from a rooftop of a city block at nighttime and lets a street burn down during dawn. The final incarnation of the work was played as asound installation at the Kapellen Leprosarium (Leper"s Sanctuary) in Hanover, Germany
