Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a 2024 supernatural horror-comedy film directed by Gil Kenan. It is the fourth installment of the Ghostbusters franchise and stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace alongside original Ghostbusters cast of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and William Aherton.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire joins veteran Ghostbus­ters and their new recruits to save the world from a death-chilling god in New York City who seek to build a spectral army. In addition to the newly introduced powerful ghost Garraka, classic ghosts make an ap­pearance such as the beloved Slimer and mini Stay Puft Marshmallow Men!

The score by composer Dario Marianelli comes available pressed as a deluxe double LP to 180 Gram “Haunted Ecto-1” splatter colored vinyl, heavyweight gatefold jackets with matte satin coating, new artwork by J.J. Harrison, and a four page booklet featuring liner notes by director Gil Kenan.

Ado has announced the release of her third vinyl record, featuring hit songs such as "Shou," the opening theme for Spy×family Season 2, "Kurakura," as well as "Himawari" and "Chocolat Catabra," the theme song for Lotte Chocolate's 60th anniversary commercial released in early 2024. The album will contain a total of 16 tracks, including several tie-in songs and newly recorded, unreleased material.

This LP reissues Izumi Kobayashi's third pop solo album, released in 1983, which includes "crescent PIERCE," a tropical version of "Dansing Star," the theme song for the anime "Urusei Yatsura," and "mas QUE NADA," a funky arrangement of a bossa nova classic!

After moving to the UK in 1989, Izumi Kobayashi's fourth ambient solo album was produced and released by the German genius Holger Hiller. This is being reissued on LP based on the rare original pressing that was only released in the Netherlands at the time!

Naoko Gushima's third album released in 1999, which has expanded its musical range more gorgeously while maintaining the stylish and urban atmosphere, will be re-released for a limited time on clear vinyl!

Robert Rental takes up residence with Dark Entries again for an expanded double vinyl reissue of Mental Detentions. Robert Rental was a Scottish pioneer of DIY electronic music. Along with his illustrious collaborators like Thomas Leer and Daniel Miller, Rental helped shape the countercultural sound of the UK with his timely melding of Krautrock, dub, and punk. Originally from Port Glasgow, he moved to the south of England with Thomas Leer in the late 1970s, and became involved with the local music scene. Robert Rental however released very little of his solo music - the only solo recording from The 1970s is the 7" single "Paralysis" first released on the homemade Regular Records in 1978, and re-released on Dark Entries in 2020. Mental Detentions was released as a cassette in 1979, the same year as his masterpiece The Bridge, a collaboration with Thomas Leer. Using an assortment of budget electronics - a Roland drum machine, a kid’s Stylophone keyboard, and an Electroharmonix DrQ - Robert takes us on a gauzy, trip, at once expansive and intimate, minimalist and maximalist. “Stuck” is mangled motorik, like Neu! run through a meat grinder, while “Vox” meanders like an 18 minute ambient fever dream. Robert spoke to friends of his frustration at being unable to replicate his sound in a commercial studio - it was these demos' sound that he wanted to create. Sometimes having only access to the most rudimentary of equipment can sharpen one’s craft - necessity is the mother of invention, indeed. This ethic shines in his work, providing a throughline to the now, as the world feels bigger and smaller than ever.

SUPERB GEORGE MICHAEL PERFORMANCE AT THE WORLD’S BIGGEST MUSIC FESTIVALIn January 1991, George Michael began his Cover To Cover Tour, comprising 30 shows across the UK, Brazil, Japan, Canada and the USA. The tour was not billed specifically to promote his new album but was more about Michael singing covers of his favourite songs, mixed with a smattering of new tracks, and a selection of oldies. On 27th January ’91, George performed at the second Rock In Rio Festival in Brazil’s second city, where he gave one of the tour’s very finest performances. The show included an unexpected appearance from George’s old Wham! partner, Andrew Ridgely, for a three-track encore to conclude the concert which included versions of Careless Whisper, I’m Your Man and Freedom. Recorded for live TV and Radio Broadcast, the full concert is now available on this new double LP set, which features this magnificent performance in its entirety. SIDE A:1. “Christmas is constant,” says Ben Folds. “Allowing you to take stock of what’s different, to understand who you are and all the ways you’ve grown and changed.” That notion lies at the heart of Folds’ brilliantly titled new holiday collection, Sleigher. Built on an eclectic mix of originals and reimagined classics, the album examines the passage of time through the lens of Christmas, reflecting on memory, loss, and longing as it explores the variety of ways the yuletide season marks the chapters of our lives. The songs are playful here, full of humor and cheer, but they’re also laced with an inescapable sense of melancholy, a looming darkness that always seems to hover around the periphery of those late December nights. Folds’ performances, meanwhile, flirt with the standards while stretching the boundaries of tradition, at times offering up flashes of Vince Guaraldi and Burt Bacharach while still remaining true to Folds’ singularly virtuosic brand of off-kilter indie pop. The result is not so much a Ben Folds Christmas record as it is a Ben Folds record set at Christmas, a meditation on the inexorable turning of the calendar and our ever changing selves as observed at the most wonderful—and challenging—time of the year.
