For the last single release from Jeb Loy Nichols' album, Timmion takes us back to the beginning. Of the recent "Jeb Loy" album that is, since its first track graces the single's A side. Bobby's 2019 tour ended in New York City and he had two days off before flying home to Finland. Leon invited him to the Diamond Mine to record some music. Bobby had been talking about wanting to stretch out lyrically and write about more esoteric subject matter, Leon was game. They recorded "Reasons" in one session which put the chemistry between the two on the world stage and sparked the idea of doing a full length album together. More than halfway through the recording process, they have decided to treat us to another two-sider of the new material. On the A side, "Whatcha Know" Bobby explores death and the human experience, putting his philosophical ponderings into his music. Michels' production and overall ethos is the perfect compliment to Bobby's desire to stretch out his sound. EMA provides a gorgeous backing track that compliments Bobby's style and simultaneously broadens its scope. The B side "Losing It" is a dramatic and moving number that Bobby sings in Spanish and English. A gorgeous guitar riff is countered with eerie sound effects that crescendo when the drums come in. Bobby professes he's "Losing It" over a love too strong and El Michels Affair's production turns the whole affair into a saga that thunders through speakers.

In November 2019, eight artists from Kenya, Uganda and the UK spent a week in Nairobi together exploring new tangents in music with soul.

The group consisted of Faizal Mostrixx (Ug), Hibotep (Ug), K15 (uk), Karun (Ke), Labdi (Ke), Lex Amor (uk), Lynda Dawn (uk) and Maxwell Owen (uk).

As we prepare to drop the long awaited full album next year we are releasing two tracks from the album via a 67" vinyl release that gives a taste of what to expect from the double vinyl 70.

The New Tangents 67" crowns a great year for ESP. following the release of Mara TK's debut album Bad Meditation and Lynda Dawn's Roses 67"

The first track from the 67" features 3 of the core artists from the Nairobi & London writing camps in 2019. K15 provides a beat with a bass line so heavy it needs to be heard on a soundsystem. Lex Amor is setting the world alight at the moment and this verse adds more weight to Lex being one of the most vital and exciting voices coming out of the UK. Karun crowns the track with blissful melodies that blend and flow all over the beat.

The second A side on the 67" was born after the lockdown hit. We decided we wanted the album to represent the time in which it was created and with lockdowns enforced around the world we decided to expand the community of musicians involved in the album project. Solaand Labdi blessed us with a soulful electronic hybrid track that combines both artists' stunning vocals. They are perfectly complemented by Solas forward thinking futuristic production.

Drummer/producer Teppo "Teddy Rok" MÃ¤kynen shares two unreleased cuts by his alias The Stance Brothers on We Jazz Records. The 7" color vinyl single goes by the title "Commercial Music", as both tracks are originally commissioned for promotional purposess. The tough-as-nails A-sider "Hard Deal" is an old-school Stance groover made for the Finnish clothing brand Samuji's men's Spring/Summer collection 2015. Stance fans will recognice the signature Teddy Rok groove which cooks and rocks, and displays nice depth as well. The drum break is pure fire like only Teppo can deliver. "Dwayne's Shuffle", known to local Finnish jazz aficionadoes as the opening theme of the popular Yle Radio 1 "Jazzklubi" show is slightly more mellow offering, yet the full swing and intensity is right there in the pocket. The crunchy guitar and minimalist vibraphone melodies carry the tune way beyond your average radio show jingle into a full existence of its own.
