Viscardi & Il Duo Magnetico is the collaborative project between italo-swiss DJ, producer and singer Pascal Viscardi, Yavor Lilov and Alain Sandri, respectively drummer and percussionist of the swiss cult band L’Éclair. The three musicians joined forces in Geneva and worked in the studio for the past two years with Viscardi as the main vocalist, Lilov producing the tracks and playing drums, bass and keys, and Sandri on guitar, percussions, and backing vocals. The result is a unique and contemporary version of italian pop, peppered with new-wave, boogie, disco and world music references.

After the release of the first two singles, Sale Sole & Jamba Club in June 2023, Cosmic Romance is proud to present their first full-length effort: Elka Mare.

Like a mystical portal that opens on a digital journey through sunny Boogie and Mellow Reggae, Art Pop and Ambient New Age, the eight songs that make up the album draw on a vocabulary composed of fragmentary images, unusual verses and original assonances, where maritime themes mix with the gray of the city and the Neapolitan dialect sparsely appears; witness to a paternal emigration. The journey sounds like dreaming of Campania beaches in the midst of Geneva traffic, or fantasizing about speeding motorboats and Balearic bonfires while listening to Enzo Carella on the sixth floor of a council building. And then dance until the sun rises on the last slow song of the night.

Brazilian producer and DJ Pedro Bertho, now based in France and an active member of Lyon's electronic music scene, releases his first EP on Cracki Records. With "Mêlé", he attempts to translate what it feels like to be a black, Brazilian man living in France in the 21st century. A complex patchwork of experiences, accents and heritages that he translates on this powerful record, mixing baile funk, house, electro or acid house, sprinkled with Tr-808 and iPhone recordings. The mix extends to the remixes, with Brazilian underground queen Badsista signing a hard-hitting version of "Jour 4", while Chilean Alejandro Paz tackles the bouncy "3333".

First up, Blair French finally makes his debut on MotorCity Wine Recordings with Ancestarians, effortlessly blending Detroit Deep House and Balearic sunshine in the way only he can. The Physical Mix of the titular track is a midtempo jazzy dance floor burner with the pan-African influence we've come to expect from Blair. The Spiritual Mix lets Blair's beloved ambient influences shine. "Champagne Kiddie Pool" kicks off the flip side with an overjoyed cavaquinho-driven cosmic dembow banger that sounds like summer. And last but not least, and perhaps the most dance floor oriented, "Sandbox Fossils" closes the release with tons of drums, keys, a driving bass performance from James Simonson and guitar from Ryan Gimpert to elevate those parties to the next level. Housed in a gorgeous picture sleeve with original artwork from Mr. French himself-- essential deeply-rooted yet forward-thinking Detroit music here.

“The boys are back! Two years after “Partly Cloudy,” their beloved debut album on MotorCity Wine Recordings, Glenn Echo and Daniel Meinecke return in a major way with “What Happened to Yesterday? Vol 1,” the first of two LPs that will be released several months apart.

On Vol. 1, Glenn and Daniel get even hazier, more psychedelic, and dubbier than on their first LP. Mr. Echo’s production, which draws as much from Prince Paul, DJ Premier, and the Avalanches as it does from Scientist, King Jammy, and the Mizell Brothers, once again provides the tripped-out canvas over which Mr. Meinecke’s multilayered and virtuosic compositions truly shine. Mr. Meinecke lays down a true masterclass across a vast array of instruments, including the Hohner Clavinet D6, Fender Rhodes 54, Moog Sub 37, Dave Smith Prophet '08, Nord Stage 2, and Eurorack modular synthesizer. The final result is a genreles fusion of beat-down psych, feel-good jazz-funk, and echo-infused soul.

While every song across the 10 tracks delivers in its own unique way, highlights include a Moog-led cover of the revered De La Soul tune “I Am I Be,” the Afro-Caribbean disco groove of “Dancehall of Grandeur” (featuring the almighty Ibibio Horns), the dubby desert blues of “Thieving from Thieves,” and the epic psychedelic jazz-rock of “Volcano Sound.”

Longtime friend of MotorCity Wine and Sydney, Australia based artist Edseven joins MotorCity Wine Recordings for the Burnin Up EP! The release is sexy, sultry, and slinky, blending deep and brukky machine sounds with soulful vocals. The title track “Burnin Up” cranks up the machine-sex-soul vibes with jazzy pads and a brilliant vocal performance from Oliver Night. “Soul Takes Flight” comes up next, with Edseven cranking up the tempo and the broken beats a bit, with another amazing performance from Oliver Night. Rocksteady Disco is elated to welcome Heidy P for its 42nd record and Heidy P's first solo release! For Elevate + Help ME Find MY WAY it's House, House, and more House; and Heidy's effervescent personality shines through from the very beginning of the release with the peak hour Latin Jazz tinged "Elevate". "Help Me Find My Way" is next, on a more gospel and soulful tip thanks to uplifting vocals from Seta. Moving onto the flip side, RSD mainstay Pontchartrain takes "Help Me Find My Way" even deeper, complete with a DJ Tool outro. The Carry Nation close out the release with a more bugged out and breaky take of "Elevate" for the freaks.

Korean synth-pop band "ultramodernista", whose summer tunes have been selected for various playlists, is releasing a 7inch record featuring Anri's classic "windy Summer", which led the city pop scene in the 80s! Korean synth-pop band "ultramodernista" will release their first physical, two-song 7inch record in about three years. On the A-side, they have arranged "windy SUMMER," a classic song by Anri, who led the city pop scene in the 80's, in their own way. The B-side features "Summer Mirage," a classic ultramodernista summer song.

Roomies, a neo-soul band formed in 2019 led by Sosuke Oikawa. The first 7inch single of their career will be released from "cmt Records", the label headed by Cunimondo Takiguchi (Ryusenkei)!! Their latest single, "Amai Yume (Sweet Dreams)", which respects the classic soul of the 60s and 70s and transcends genre barriers to produce superb pop music, is an urban soul with a sweet and dangerous aroma, strongly influenced by the city pop that colored the Japanese music scene in the 70s and 80s. The coupling song "Hypnotized" is included for the first time.

On the Line is a fresh collaborative release between west coast and east coast Canadian artists Jonny Tobin and Maya Killtron, kicking off the beginning of 2024 in a memorable way. The song features a satisfying blend of soul, 80s funk, and yacht rock. Undeniable grooves come together with Jonny Tobin’s lush and funky production work, and Maya Killtron’s soaring vocal stylings elevate the track to a whole other level. On the Line will appeal to lovers of modern funk and beyond! The Light In All Of Us is a brand new instrumental track from acclaimed jazz fusion/funk keyboardist and producer Jonny Tobin. His production blends elements of dance music, modern jazz, and funk, with Jonny’s signature writing style - catchy synth melodies, uplifting chord progressions, and a dash of improvised solos. This colourful mix of aesthetics helps to set the track apart from other instrumental beat-based releases, and Tobin’s usual sense of musical optimistic shines through clearly in the music.

For her first solo project, the French-Chilean singer Alsy has teamed up with producers Rose, Peter Dallas and Jimmy Whoo. Co- produced with Jimmy Whoo, this EP reflects the meeting of the two artists' worlds, between the nocturnal atmosphere of Motel Music and the sunny ambiance of the singer's South American influences.

With her project Candela, Alsy has imagined her own musical universe, intimate and deep, rich in the variety of her influences. The lyrics are passionate, the rhythms smooth and warm, and the project is a subtle mix of modernity and nostalgia, between steamy reggaeton, smooth synth pop and hypnotic electro.

The singer's smooth and bewitching voice is the hallmark of this debut EP, which takes us on a dreamy journey from Paris to Santiago, against a backdrop of rhythmic and atmospheric music.

DJ and producer Gratts returns to his own imprint with the third instalment of the "Balearic but bumpin'" trilogy. Here, the Belgian puts forward a captivating piece of organic, Body & Soul NY inspired deep house, assisted by Cata Mansikka-aho on vocals. As always, an instrumental is provided for maximum nightclub daydreaming. On the flipside, British duo Faze Action up the energy levels with an equally musical disco version that hits in all the right spots. Artwork once again by Mads Cooke.

B2 Recordings hits release number 13 with DJ Rocca and Lex combing on a trio of fresh house cuts that blend elements of disco, Latin and soul. Up first is the glorious 'Solid Street' which has loose and percussive disco-house grooves overlaid with big synth energy and steamy vocals. 'Solar System' is slower and deeper, with a more rugged bassline and low slung sense of funk that never lets up. 'Last of all, 'Rose Tree' is a ramshackle house arrangement with whistles, Rhodes keys, tin-pot percussion, florid flutes and plenty of sunny energy all making it a real standout. A timeless EP packed with musicality.

Arn4l2 (pronouced arn-al-dos) aka Arnaldo Berdugo is a producer and DJ from Cartagena, Colombia. He grew up surrounded by music, namely the vinyl treasures that his grandfather accumulated as director of a local radio station in San Estanislao de Kotska, Bolívar, a Colombian Caribbean town with a large Afro-descendant population. In his productions, Arn4l2 combines Colombian musical traditions such as Bullerengue, Chalupa and Tambora with electronic elements such as synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines, resulting in a unique sound that reflects his own, strongly Africaninfluenced Caribbean vision. Galletas Calientes is proud to release his first solo project on vinyl: a collection of 5 upbeat tunes for the floor, blending Congolese soukous, Colombian Bullerengue, Nigerian highlife, Caribbean soca, and House; with a uniquely distinctive, progressive and psychedelic touch. His Colombian, Caribbean and African roots have been shaping this young producer’s personality as an artist and a human being, and the distinguished style he has developed over the years is definitely the result of all these influences. “Caribe” is the third volume of Galletas Calientes Records “Colombian Singles Series”, a series with a purpose of awakening interest in modern Colombian electronic music.

Star CREATURE's E. Live makes his debut on the sister imprint Tugboat Editions with a few flips from the Skyy catalog. The A-side feats Chelsea "chesta" Blake on vocals while the "here's TO You" remake on the B-side has newcomer Jolie Davenport.

Mofak, the funkiest producer from the south of France (Marseille), is back with a double Modern Boogie single just the way we like it! A side: the bass of the single sets the tone over a fat beat featuring the vocals of Saïd (iam) and Elois Scroggins! The vocoder gives us a real treat, and the chorus takes it all in and sets the dancefloor alight! B Side : Big beats and groovy bass are the recipe for the intro, then AprilSoul takes it all in when the synthesizers kick in! Mofak on vocoder lifts the track, then the chorus kicks in and keeps us on the edge of our seats until the awesome guitar chorus forces us to play Air Guitare ! ! With this double single, Mofak confirms his Modern Boogie level of production and makes it clear that we'll have to keep a close eye on him in the shops.

Back in 2019, Emotional Rescue began a series where it licensed some all-time favourites, remastered them and pressed them up with new remixes by modern producers. It now draws to a close after many fine instalments with early 80s band The Impossible Dreamers. Their cult 'Spin' arrives here with an epic nine-minute extended reversion that is heavy on the dub and percussion and also an even more dubcentric reprise from regular label artist Dan Tyler of Idjut Boys and Noid fame, her under his NAD guise. There is plenty of raw and raucous rhythm to this 12" that will enliven any dancefloor and round out this series in style.

Los Angeles-based Ashrr are back on 2020 Vision ahead of a new album and this time serve up their own superb version of The Romantics's 1983 hit 'Talking in Your Sleep.' In their hands, it becomes a club-ready sound with a vocal you may recognise as it featured in the Mad Max episode of Stranger Things. Add in some DFA-inspired punk funk vibes and with all the instruments reapplied while new layers of bass and synth are added and you have one fantastic new version. Balearic don Fernando steps up for two remixes, first stripping things back to a deep house sound and then bringing some dub disco vibes to the fore.
