Support weight for mass drives

The weight made of stainless steel ensures a better contact between the record and the platter. This suppresses mechanical resonances, which greatly improves the scannability of the microgroove. As a result, your music becomes more detailed, has a clearer resolution and a better defined bass. The ergonomic shape ensures easy handling when placing the weight on the record. It is not necessary to screw it onto the plate mandrel. The contact weight is a little over 500 grams.

Details and technical data:
• Precisely processed by CNC milling
• Avoidance of disruptive resonances, which have a negative effect on the scanning by your pickup
• Made of solid stainless steel for the perfect combination of weight (a little more than 500 grams) and size
• Ergonomic shape for easy handling
• Diameter: 73 mm
• Height: 22mm
• Diameter of the hole for the plate mandrel: 7.5 mm
• Made in Japan

Nagaoka Turntables

Originally founded as a supplier of precision parts for mechanical watches, NAGAOKA has been manufacturing record player needles since 1947, making it one of the veterans of the industry. Even when the CD threatened to replace records during the 1990s, NAGAOKA remained true to its business and thus preserved the know-how it had accumulated over the decades.

When demand picked up again due to the vinyl revival, NAGAOKA was on the spot – so it’s not really surprising that currently over 90% of all cartridge needles sold worldwide come from the traditional factory in Higashine, 400 km north of Tokyo.

The company’s own pickups have also enjoyed an excellent reputation for decades and are known among music lovers and professionals for their high manufacturing precision and a price-performance ratio that can hardly be topped. A wide range of accessories – from vinyl cleaners to anti-static record bags – complete the NAGAOKA product line. In short, NAGAOKA has a unique assortment; no other manufacturer offers so many products from a single source.

When Technics was looking for a cartridge for a new special model, it was hardly surprising that the choice fell on NAGAOKA: the Technics SL-1210GAE is equipped with the NAGAOKA JT-1210 developed exclusively for this turntable. In the meantime, a regularly available version of this exceptional cartridge is also available with the JT-80BK.
