Officially available for the very first time in any format, the soundtrack to the groundbreaking animated series is now available as a deluxe 6xLP box set, multi-disc CD set, and across all digital streaming services today, February 17th, 2023. In partnership with ÆON Flux creator, artist, and director Peter Chung, composer Drew Neumann, and MTV, Waxwork Records assembled a comprehensive box set experience featuring the complete soundtrack music from all 21 ÆON Flux episodes sourced from the composer’s original masters.

Originally airing from September 1991 through October 1995, ÆON Flux is an avant-garde science fiction animated television series that inspired live action films, video games, and comic books. It premiered on MTV’s Liquid Television experimental animation show as a six-part serial of short films, followed in 1992 by five individual short episodes. In 1995, a season of ten half-hour episodes aired as a stand-alone series.

The original and innovative series featured elements of science fiction, allegory, dystopian and spy fiction, psychological drama, and psychedelic imagery. ÆON Flux is set in a surreal futuristic universe. The setting comprises a bizarre dystopia populated by mutants, clones, and robots, set within the separated border wall cities of Monica and Bregna. The title character is a tall, sexy, dominatrix secret agent from the city of Monica that is skilled in espionage, assassination, and acrobatics. Her mission is to infiltrate and destroy the strongholds of the city of Bregna which is led by her sworn enemy, and sometimes lover, Trevor Goodchild.

About the Composer

The music and sound design of ÆON Flux was created by Drew Neumann. Neumann is an American composer and musician of film and television scores. He studied film, animation, and composition at the California Institute of Arts where he first met and began a longtime friendship with Peter Chung. He has composed music for Disney, E!, Nickelodeon, MTV, Mattel, Paramount Pictures, Cartoon Network, and trailers for feature films. In addition, he has contributed sound design and music composition for a variety of hardware synthesizers, sound libraries, and software and computer products. Neumann works closely with and consults for synthesizer companies such as 1010 Music LLC, Arturia, Studio Electronics, Ensoniq, Oberheim, Sequential, UDO, Waldorf, and Moog.

About the Creator

Peter Chung is a Korean American writer and director of animated films. In addition to creating ÆON Flux, Chung’s directing credits include The Animatrix, and the Cartoon Network feature Firebreather. He served as art director for the animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and as designer and director for the Nickelodeon series Rugrats. Chung has also directed commercials for Levi’s, Pepsi, Honda, Jaguar, Sony, and many others. He currently teaches a Master Class at the Division of Animation and Digital Arts at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

'Infernal Affairs' has been remade many times at home and abroad, including Martin Scorsese's remake in 2006 as the American version of 'Infernal Affairs' called 'The Departed'. It won four Oscars, including Best Picture. Both China and Japan have been remade the film into TV series. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of 'Infernal Affairs', the film's soundtrack is being pressed for special release of the global limited edition 'Infernal Affairs' vinyl format. Created by Hong Kong famous film composer Chan Kwong Wing, the soundtrack was performed by the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nicolaus Esterhazy Orchestra, the Asian Philharmonic Choir and the Hungarian Choir participated in the chorus. 'Infernal Affairs' is a successful example of the flawless combination of light, shadow and music. Cooperating with the compact plot, each note is closely related to the progress of the plot, arousing the audience's emotions, creating a tense atmosphere and enhancing the dramatic effect. In the first act of drug dealing, the struggle between good and evil is perfectly demonstrated. In addition to plots and images, music also plays an important role in certain scenes. Cai Qin's song 'The Forgotten Time' connects two protagonists with different fate trajectories. Another example is the scene where Huang Sir was thrown off the building and died, and Feng Xiyu hummed the episode 'Goodbye - Police', like the sound of the sounds of nature, I feel sorry for Huang's death. When fans recall the scene, the music often comes to mind at the same time.

ove After Love (Chinese: 第一炉香) is a 2020 Chinese erotic romance drama film directed by Ann Hui, and starring Ma Sichun, Faye Yu, Eddie Peng, Chang Chun-ning and Fan Wei. The film had its world premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival on September 8, 2020. It is scheduled to be theatrically released in China on October 22, 2021.

The film marked the third time Hui directed an Eileen Chang adaptation (following 1984’s Love In A Fallen City and 1997’s Eighteen Springs). It is an adaption of Chang’s novella Aloeswood Incense: The First Brazier, a sprawling love story set in 1940s Hong Kong.

The film’s soundtrack was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Blue Giant" (original story by Shinichi Ishizuka), a popular jazz manga series that has sold over 9.2 million copies since its serialization began in 2013, has finally been made into a movie.

The music of "Blue Giant" was composed by pianist Hiromi Uehara, who has been highly acclaimed for her "manga that you can hear the sound of. The original music (first Note, N.E.W., WE Will) and end-roll music (Blue Giant) for the trio "jass" formed by the main character, Dai Miyamoto, and his friends were also written for this film.

The saxophone player for Dai Miyamoto, who aspires to be the best jazz player in the world, is Tomoaki Baba, who was unanimously selected in an audition of leading players from Japan and abroad. Shunji Tamada, who was a high school classmate of Dai from Sendai, plays drums, and Shun Ishiwaka, who is also a member of millennium parade, joins him at the love call of Hiromi Uehara. And Hiromi Uehara plays the piano for the pianist Yukinori Sawabe, whom Dai meets in Tokyo.

Top musicians from the classical to jazz worlds, including string members of "Hiromi Uehara the Piano Quintet," also participated in the recording of the film's accompaniment music and band performances.

About the composer:

Anthony composed the score to Oscar-winning writer/director Emerald Fennell’s drama thriller Promising Young Woman starring Carey Mulligan, which was nominated for Best Picture and earned Anthony a Bafta nomination for Best Original Score.

Willis grew up in London and began his musical training as a chorister of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, England. He went on to study Composition at Marlborough College, Wilshire and the University of Bristol, before earning his graduate degree from the University of Southern California. JEMAPUR, an electronic music artist who has been energetically making his music, has composed his first feature movie soundtrack and will release remaster version on Vinyl.
JEMPUR was discovered from music producer Nujabase and released an album from Hydeout Production. He is also in a side project called Young Juvenile Youth with Ms. Yu.
Kosai Sekine has been making motion pictures focusing on the fusion of sound and image. He gave JEMAPUR a challenge to rebuild his music production method to encompass the theme "destruction and reconstruction" for "The Tower of The Sun" soundtrack.

In Aphes, you will even hear bards' songs, that Chang especially composed for this world."Golden Olive", the main theme of "Asterigos", is performed by Asja Kadric, who sang in "Guild War 2", while the lyrics for "Nostalgia", the theme song, were written by Matthew Yen, a well-known Taiwanese lyricist and novelist. Furthermore, "Nostalgia" is sung by Emi Evans, whose vocals are also featured in "NieR:Automata". In the world created by "Asterigos", many songs are re-arranged and performed by Percival Schuttenbach, who is famous for his works in "The Witcher 3". In some mysterious corners in the game, you can even hear the beautiful voices of Pinling Chen, who sang in the games "Detention" and "Devotion" and Anna Stolarczyk, a Polish soprano who sang in the game, "Father & Son".Besides the orchestral music recorded by Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the soundtrack is also a collection of wonderful original music by Taiwanese performers, including Hsinyu Yang, Yachun Yang and Szuhui Tui, an English violinist, Dominika Latusek, a singer, Adiescar Chase, a Scottish guitarist, Joseph Stevenson, a Japanese pianist and composer, Aruto Matsumoto, and an Italian composer, Fabio Amurri. Composer Lorne Balfe's overall musical and philosophical approach to Black Adam was 'to get the emotion and darkness of the main characters back story across to the audience, whilst simultaneously intertwining the old themes and familiarities of the DC comic book world and introducing a new class of superheroes.” He further noted “One way to bring in the feeling of an ancient world together was to collaborate with traditional instruments from Latin America, India, Africa and the Middle East. A particular highlight for me was a percussion session I did where we enlisted several musicians playing various traditional instruments together to achieve this specific sound. Further, we had a large brass section across the score to give the weight and power of the main character’s past, which I balanced out with high tempo, more melodic sounds to give the audience that more familiar heroic feel. We also experimented a lot with choir on this project which was able to contribute a unique and classical sound that ties in nicely with Black Adam’s story.”

Born of the overarching World of Darkness and the tabletop phenomenon Vampire: The Masquerade, Bloodhunt is Sharkmob’s thrilling spin on the multiplayer action genre that sees players take part in a ruthless war between vampire factions.

Bloodhunt boasts a sonically rich score sired by acclaimed Polish-Bulgarian composer Atanas Valkov, and featuring the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir. The city of Prague provided much of the aesthetic inspiration for Bloodhunt’s soundscape: classical and romantic, yet with many a shadowy corner in which a vampire might secrete themselves. Valkov enjoyed creating contrast between modern electronic musical elements and old world ones, as well as layering guitars and using irregular rhythmic structures. The overall soundtrack is both cinematic and brutal.

The deluxe double LP set features a deluxe gatefold sleeve (individually inkjet numbered) and printed inners dripping with stylish artwork by Sharkmob. 16 tracks have been mastered specially for vinyl, and pressed onto heavyweight, red and transparent LPs with a cloudy effect. Also included are composer liner notes.
