The Coalition and Laced Records have joined forces to bring stunning remasters of the original trilogy soundtracks to vinyl.

2006’s Gears of War was truly a trend-setter thanks to its cinematic action, cover system, Active Reload, and biceps the size of basketballs.

Composer Kevin Riepl (Unreal Tournament series, Rocket League) and the Northwest Sinfonia infused the soundtrack with a propulsive sense of Sturm und Drang. On the frantic orchestral cues, driving metallic percussion accompanies thumping brass and busy string flurries. Riepl also forged the game’s signature sound with dark ambient pieces that employed electronic samples and delay.

This double LP set features 31 tracks, specially remastered for vinyl by Joe Caithness. These will be pressed onto two audiophile-quality, heavyweight 180g red LPs. Discs will be housed in a wide-spined sleeve with two printed inner sleeves.

The final track “Gears of War (Piano)” has never been released until now.

Akira Ifukube Returns! It's 1996 AD and Toho decide to freeze their Godzilla franchise, so what better way to go out with than a nuclear meltdown, which happens in Godzilla VS. Destoroyah. Directed by Takao Okawara, the epic kaiju flick has Godzilla deadlier than ever before, with the absorption of uranium sending the temperature of his nuclear reactor heart soaring, which will ignite Earth's atmosphere and kill everybody when it explodes. Oh, and there's also another kaiju on the loose, the prehistoric mutation Destoroyah. It never rains but it pours!

Returning to score Godzilla VS. Destoroyah was Akira Ifukube, the man who created the Big G's sound in 1954. Fittingly, for his final film, he got to lay Godzilla to rest once again, but first brought back several of his older pieces for the mayhem, including the original Godzilla theme, with another repurposed for the amazing new Super-X3. Destoroyah also receives a terrifying theme with powerful brass, but even his strength isn't enough for Godzilla's awesome force. But with that comes the death of the Big G, and Ifukube composes a beautiful requiem for his final scene. The king is dead. Long live the king! (Charlie Brigden)

When I was approached to participate in Monsterland I was immediately attracted to the idea of working on a series where horror, science fiction and gore could converge. I had never done music for a project like this before and the sole idea of venturing into some new playground immediately sparked my interest. And just after reading the first two episodes I realized I had to get involved in the project.

Several things connected with me deeply. I found in the stories elements that reminded me of the “magical realism” that I grew up with in Latin America through writers like Horacio Quiroga and Gabriel García Márquez. Also, the idea of tapping into a landscape in which fear and horror have a metaphysical quality connected to the psyche of the characters appealed to me.

Working with Juan Luquí was key in making this score. His capacity to deeply understand my vision and his masterful skills add another dimension to Monsterland. A land of monsters so human in nature, that in many instances seemed extremely and frighteningly familiar.

Augustus Muller and Jae Matthews’ fifth release entitled ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is not a traditional album. Rather, it is the soundtrack to a short film, also entitled ‘The Runner’. The film, written, produced, and directed by the duo, is a searching horror film, attached to a meta-style “documentary” about Boy Harsher’s recording process. The album includes several distinct components: cinematic arrangements, vocal features, and of course classic Boy Harsher dark pop. Both the album and short film will be released in January 2022.

The album opens with “Tower”. The only track on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ that Boy Harsher has previously played live, but never recorded. The song is an incantation, with its pulsing synth and Jae’s begging vocals. A spell about desire and impending destruction. Jae asks 'But are you honest? Do you trust? You trust in me?' Questions answered by her desperate yells. It starts both the film and the soundtrack with a heavy presence.

Two songs on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ feature vocalists other than Jae Matthews. He allows a distinct sound for both vocalists and really leans into the possibility of divergent genres. “Machina”, is a Hi-nrg homage, performed by Mariana Saldaña of Boan, and “Autonomy” a new wave tribute, performed by Cooper B. Handy of Lucy. Augustus Muller fully embraces the soundtrack ethos, by creating fictional ‘bands’ to generate additional content.

‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is exactly what’s in the name: a soundtrack. At first the shape of the release was nebulous - yet once realized the album is dynamic. It serves as the story of the running figure and her musical accompaniment. Those expecting a traditional release will be surprised, but not disappointed.

Steven Wilson is a 4 times Grammy nominated multi-instrumentalist, a soughtafter mixer and producer and has become known for the high sonic and musical standards of his work. In Adventure Gamers’ Aggie Awards 2017, it won the award for “Best Story”, while it was a runner-up each for “Best Concept”, “Best Graphic Design”, and “Best NonTraditional Adventure”. It was nominated for “Game Beyond Entertainment” at the 14th British Academy Games Awards. The soundtrack to Last Day Of June is based on existing music originally recorded and issued either on Steven Wilson’s albums under his own name or as his project Bass Communion between 2004-2016. First ever vinyl edition of "Zeder" soundtrack, one of the best Italian thriller/horror movies ever!

The music composer is Riz Ortolani ("Mondo Cane" and "Cannibal Holocaust" stand out among his many works), here collaborating with director Pupi Avati for the second time: this soundtrack expertly blends electronic and symphonic music, the latter here consisting mainly of an orchestral string section often repetitive, hypnotic and insistent, that reflects the arrogance of the protagonist in continuing his research, no matter what the consequences could be. There is no shortage of funk-filled brighter themes and requiems, suspended songs full of tension and sudden vibe changes, melancholic melodies and eerie soundscapes.

"Zeder" is today a cult movie, released in theaters in 1983, at a time when hardly anyone dared to shoot anything that had to do with zombies. Pupi Avati went against the tide then, giving life to an atmospheric horror film set in a sunny Italian Romagna Riviera - a typical destination for cheerful summer holidays - which tells the discovery of ancient experiments by researcher Paolo Zeder on a special 'K terrain' that allow those buried there to return from beyond. Avati's stylistic approach, in which tension and fear arise from simply narrated situations instead of full-blooded scenes with a strong visual impact, finds here a perfect match with Maestro Riz Ortolani's score.

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (b.1975) is an artist, curator and composer who works primarily with, but not limited to, voice and modular synthesizer for sound in the realm of spontaneous music. Along with analog video synthesis works, he has brought forth an A/V proposal that has been a focus of live performance and installation / exhibition.

The marriage of synthesis and the voice has allowed for a heightened physicality in the way of ecstatic music, both in a live setting and recorded. The sensitivity of analogue modular synthesis echoes the organic nature of vocal expression, which in this case is meant to put forth a trancelike state. Lowe’s works on paper tend towards human relations to the natural/magical world and the repetition of motifs.

Waxwork Records is proud to present the soundtrack to Candyman in multiple formats, including vinyl, CD and digital. Scottish synth pop sensations Chvrches have a history of commissioning remixes for each of their chart topping albums. Given the cinematic concept of their latest Screen Violence they wanted to get a composer involved who worked in that universe. Singer and percussionist Lauren Mayberry said that the master of horror John Carpenter was the top of their wish list elaborating that "His films and music have been so impactful on us over the years, and without the stories he created I am not sure that the concept of Screen Violence (and female narratives within the album) would exist in the way they do." They decided to reach for the stars and contact Carpenter's team and to their delight Carpenter was excited by the idea. Lauren continues "As horror fans, we know that John Carpenter is the godfather and the gold standard and we're so excited to get to work with him in any capacity... we never really thought he'd reply, let alone that he'd send back something better than the original." A Fantastic Woman (Spanish: Una mujer fantástica) is a 2017 drama film directed by Sebastián Lelio and written by Lelio and Gonzalo Maza. It was selected as the Chilean entry for the Best Foreign Language Film where it won in the 90th Academy Awards. The film is about Marina, a transgender woman who works as a waitress and moonlights as a nightclub singer, is bowled over by the death of her older boyfriend. It premiered at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival in 2017 where it won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay and the Teddy Award, an award given to films with a LGBT theme. Matthew Herbert is an award-winning composer, artist, producer and writer. He has had work commissioned by the Royal Opera House, the BBC and has remixed iconic artists such as Quincy Jones, Ennio Morricone and been a long-time collaborator of Bjork's, but he is best known for working with sound, turning ordinary or so-called found sound in to electronic music. This is a limited edition on transparent pink coloured vinyl. The LP package contains an insert with notes from director Sebastián Lelio.

"The Human Centipede" is a film conceived, produced and directed by Dutch director Tom Six, which tells the story of the wicked Doctor Heiter, a manic German surgeon who kidnaps three people with the aim of surgically sewing them together to form a 'human centipede'. The movie has won many awards at various horror film festivals, and its delirious plot has become part of the urban subculture, thanks to numerous citations in TV series (including The Simpsons and South Park), films and songs.

The sinister and spine-chilling electronic soundtrack created by Patrick Savage and Holeg Spies perfectly reflects the morbid atmosphere of a film that "occupies a world where the stars don't shine". This release contains the music of the first film of "The Human Centipede" series, conceived right from the start as a trilogy that began in 2009 with a 'First Sequence' and followed in 2011 and 2015 respectively by the 'Full' and 'Final sequence'.

This first yellow vinyl edition, enclosed in a gatefold cover with artwork by Ed Harrington, contains also a very special add-on: a temporary tattoo with the illustration the centipede project designed by Dr. Heiter himself!

Record Store Day 2021 Release. Following their 1990s hiatus, Wire reformed in 1999, and, after setting up their own Pinkflag imprint, between 2001–2003 released five distinct Wire items: Twelve Times You (pf3; 7-inch vinyl), Read & Burn 01 (pf4; CD EP), Read & Burn 02 (pf5; CD EP), Send (pf6; CD album) and Pf456 Redux (pf456 Redux; 12-inch vinyl album. Following the two Read & Burn CD EPs, Wire released the full length album Send, combining some tracks from both Read & Burn EPs and four unreleased pieces. Since none of the tracks had previously been issued on vinyl, a creative solution was sought to include all of the tracks from Send and the two Read & Burn EPs. This was achieved by some quite brutal edits! Thus the title Pf456 Redux is both catalog number and descriptor of the process. However, none of the tracks on PF4, PF5 and PF6 were ever put out on vinyl at full length—hence Pf456 Deluxe, which includes everything from those three releases and Twelve Times You, for good measure. As in many things with Wire, form follows function. This limited edition version for Record Store Day 2021 comes with a hard -bound book containing text about these recordings and photos from the period.

Hair is a 1968 rock musical with lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The work reflects the creators' observations of the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of the late 1960s. The musical broke new ground in musical theatre by defining the genre of 'rock musical', using a racially integrated cast, and inviting the audience onstage for a 'Be-In' finale. The album reached the #1 spot on the Billboard chart and received a Grammy award. For the first time ever, the complete recording of Hair is now available on a deluxe and expanded 2LP-set. The album features classic hits like 'Aquarius', 'Ain't Got No', 'Let The Sunshine In' and 'Hair'. There are multiple guest appearances, including Diane Keaton, Idris Muhammad, Melba Moore and many more. Hair is available on black vinyl. Lesbo" is a 1969 erotic film directed by Edoardo Mulargia, his only experiment in this genre within a filmography mostly focused on Western films and sentimental/romantic comedies. Calling "Lesbo" an underground film is practically an understatement, as no official home video releases of this movie seem to exist; its soundtrack instead has luckily survived to the present day and, given the caliber of its two composers, it could only be a terrific work.

The friendship between Francesco De Masi and Alessandro Alessandroni is even more dated than the artistic partnership that was later born between the most famous spaghetti western whistle and Morricone, and "Lesbo" is 'only' one of the various collaborations between these two composers. Introduced as usual by a sensual theme sung by a seducing female voice, this warm and Mediterranean-flavoured soundtrack has numerous variations with a romantic/symphonic, lounge, even jazz taste, with some typically 'Morriconian' moments of tension too.

An extremely varied work, therefore, of which in 1969 - the year the film was released in theaters - only eight tracks were published on the single side of an LP containing, in addition to the soundtrack of "Lesbo", also that of "L'amore questo sconosciuto" on side B. Recently reissued with the addition of numerous bonus tracks, it is here in its full version - 24 tracks! - on vinyl for the first time ever.
