Unrepentantly flying the flag for Classic British Metal since the release of their 1981 “Blitzkrieg/Buried Alive” demo, Blitzkrieg were a pivotal influence on countless heavy metal bands for decades to come: most notably, Metallica, who released a cover of the band’s eponymous track “Blitzkrieg”, both on “Garage Inc” compilation album, and as a B-side on their 1984 single “Creeping Death”. Formed in Leicester in late 1980 by lead vocalist Brian Ross (who remains at the helm of the band to this day), the band would take a four-year hiatus when Ross left to join NWOBHM legends Satan, recording their classic album “Court In The Act” (Roadrunner) and touring extensively, before reuniting with bassist Mick Moore to form Avenger.Returning from a hiatus in the wake of their critically acclaimed releases “Back From Hell” and “Judge Not”, Blitzkrieg are as vital, powerful and ferocious as the day they were founded over 40 years ago. Long time members Alan Ross (son of Brian Ross) and powerhouse drummer Matt Graham are joined by bassist Liam Ferguson and virtuoso guitarist and producer Nick Jennison. The perturbance between two macabre Death/Doom masters is now unified as one on this gloriously funereal “The Sempiternal Wound” split release. From the unsettling but grandoise track opener of JADE to the rotten mid-paced deathbeat of SANCTUARIUM on the split EP closer, “The Sempiternal Wound” speaks of the impeccable cycle of Life and Death; while inevitable and serves as a stark reminder of the pain throughout the lifespan of mankind. Total nihilism is evident here with both JADE and SANCTUARIUM also clearly sharpening their crafts even further; displaying an almost cinematic vibe on their pummeling sections transitioning to slow, crawling passages. Sacred Reich is an American thrash metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, that was formed in1985. Despite splitting up in 2000, the band's popularity among heavy metal and thrash fansnever wavered. In fact, the band has 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Sacred Reich hasbeen credited, along with Testament, Death Angel and Dark Angel, for leading the secondwave of thrash metal in the late 1980s. Healis the 4th studio album by the thrash metal legends, originally released in 1996 viaMetal Blade Records. The band quickly began writing original music. They recorded and released their first 6-song demo, Nothing Is Impossible, in 1988. As a result of the demo, Liar became one of the earliest signings tothe Century Media rosteroverseas, most notable because they were playing a fairly unique hybridof power and thrash metal. "Humachine" is the sophomore release from this band of veteran musicians. The bands debut self titled album was released in 2016 to much critical acclaim, and was entirely produced by Iggy Elisabetsky, winner of two Grammy Awards, at D-Organization Studios in Los Angeles, California and mastered by Rob Colwell at Bombworks Studios in Texas (Coroner, Believer, Nevermore, Sacred Reich).
