“Death Rituals” is Six Feet Under's eighth studio album, and it shows king growler Chris Barnes and his men on the way back to old virtues: lead-heavy grooves, evil riffs, mean solos and obviously the unmistakable, animal-like voice of the dreadlocked frontman make for a headbanging experience of the first degree.

The crown jewel of Finnish Death Metal, reissued in a band-approved new 30th anniversary edition. Features a new vinyl master from the original source by Noise for Fiction, plus a booklet with a lengthy feature by Hippo Taatila and some visual memorabilia. As an added vinyl bonus there's a large poster by the original cover artist Rob Smits creating a new vision of the album cover for the new millennium.

Together with bands like Demilich, Abhorrence, Disgrace, Xysma and Sentenced, Demigod from the wastelands of Loimaa, southern Finland, put Finland on the map in the global death metal scene in the late 80's and early 90's. Having risen to underground fame with their demo Unholy Domain, Slumber of Sullen Eyes was a hugely expected debut album. When it was finally released in 1992 after a complicated creation process at Tico-Tico Studios in northern Finland, it was received with open arms and drooling excitement by the then very active underground death metal scene.

That scene was, however, short lived, and by 1994 pretty much every band had switched from death metal to something else entirely. What was left after the bands had left the building was a number of classic albums that constitute the legacy of Finnish Death Metal. Among them, Slumber of Sullen Eyes is one of the most original and ferocious. There was nobody like Demigod.

Svart Records are proud to reissue this remarkable and quite hard to find album on CD, vinyl and tape.

"Inri" is the 1987 debut album by Brazilian extreme metal band Sarcofago. Inri would become the unofficial staple of the emerging extreme metal subgenres. Today, it still stands as one of the most iconic and influential releases of the decade, if not all time. It’s been impersonated, emulated, and ripped off countless times, yet there’s something about makes it stand head and shoulders above the countless imposters it spawned. Recorded at J.G. Studio (Sepultura, Sextrash, Holocausto, Uakti), Brazil, in August 1987. Legendary blackened death album finally made available again! Founded 1988 in Stockholm/Sweden, Dismember were among those responsible for Death Metal's big break through. The debut album, Like An Ever Flowing Stream from 1991, clearly showed that Dismember are an uncompromising band which resulted in their rise to cult status and within a short period of time the album took the scene by storm. Extensive touring with bands like Death, Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse showed that Dismember are a live force to be reckoned with and the number of fans grew steadily. The band then released the 5-track EP, "Pieces", and went out on tour again instead with Napalm Death and Obituary. They played for thousands of fans throughout Europe thus reinforcing their status as one of the best live bands on earth. Dismember set a new path and in 2004, they released their sixth studio album titled Where Ironcrosses Grow which sounds close to Hate Campaign and is heavily inspired by Iron Maiden and Autopsy.

The Swedes had never been better.

The band formed in Stockholm in 1988. After a hiatus, during which several members joined Carnage, the band began recording in earnest in 1991 and released their debut, Like an Ever Flowing Stream in 1991. The album became an early example of Scandinavian death metal and established the band's fanbase. The song "Skin Her Alive" prompted an obscenity charge in the United Kingdom, against which the band successfully defended themselves. In 1993 Dismember released Indecent & Obscene, their most successful album ever, which featured their most famous theme: "Dreaming in Red" shown frequently in MTV's Headbanger's Ball.

"Dismember" is the ultimate death metal album from one of the finest Swedish bands. Dismember have lost nothing in terms of intensity. The sheer pace and passion of the songs are blistering and the vocal sounds as pissed off as ever. Powerful riffs that are not in short demand, plenty of lead works and amazingly melodic harmonies are what the metal scene needed and Dismember have them in huge spades. This is definitely one of the best death metal releases in many, many years.

Nevertheless, they attempted a return to style with 1997's Death Metal.

Skeletal Earth was one of those bands that stuck out. Being influenced by both death and thrash metal as well as the more crossover style where hardcore punk meets metal they came up with an original sounding couple of demos and albums. Their debut Eulogy for a Dying Fetus was recorded at Tampa, Florida based Morrisound Studios ( Death, Cynic, Agent Steel) and produced by Scott Burns (Cannibal Corpse, Atheist, Deicide). In April 1993 Skeletal Earth went back to the famous Morrisound Studios in Tampa to record 5 new tracks to be released as the ‘Dreighphuck’ 7" vinyl EP. Drummer Doug Sylvia also played with Fear of God (featuring Detenete's Dawn Crosby R.I.P.)

Etched B-Side.

Back in the early 90s, most of Sweden's death metal bands had yet to truly break out, with the exception of Entombed and a handful of others getting decent signings (Grave, Dismember, Unleashed). Not sure we can classify Liers in Wait as a 'super' group due to the fact that its members' constituent bands were not yet massive at the time, but in retrospect, the enormous talent that went into this sole EP recording would classify it in that category. The material actually carry a huge influence from faster USDM bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide and Malevolent Creation, spiced up with some frenetic, cosmic and philosophical atmosphere, lyrics rooted deeply in the Mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. Spiritually Controlled Art is 17 minutes long only but a fine example of how bands were taking the pure death metal strains of both shores and twisting them into novel formulas. The mix of cosmic, cerebral horror and violent, proficient death metal might not seem so novel anymore, but Liers in Wait were one of the first to make it stick, albeit briefly. This effort is a good leap short of legendary, but its qualities yearn to be experienced by anyone seeking those dimly glowing gems of 90s potential.

Acid Drinkers ware formed at 21 September 1986 by Tomasz “Titus” Pukacki (vocal, bass) and Robert “Litza” Friedrich (guitar, vocal). Very soon the line-up was completed with Darek “Popcorn” Popowicz (guitar) and Piotr “Chomik” Kulik (drums). Chomik was later replaced by Maciej “Ślimak” Starosta. In this line-up the band started to work on their first compositions: “Barmy Army”, “Del rocca” or “I Mean Acid”. Less than a month after the band started, Titus was called to the army and he left his friends for almost two years. During that time Litza and Popcorn decided to reactivate Slavoy, and after a short time Popcorn was offered to join Wilczy Pająk (Wolf Spider), and Litza to Turbo.

When he came back from the army, Titus tried to reactivate his first band Los Desperados. The attempts didn’t really work out, and after a meeting with Popcorn he chose to reactivate Acid Drinkers instead. Litza and Ślimak came back, too. Their live debut took place on Wyspa Słodowa, Wrocław, at 26 August 1989. After that show the news about a great new metal band started to spread around Poland and more and more people got familiar with the name Acid Drinkers. Very quickly they were offered a recording deal and their career started to roll. In this line-up they recorded such classic albums as “Are You A Rebel?”, “Vile Vicious Vision” or their most popular album “Infernal Connection”.

Towards the end of 1998 Litza decided to leave the band. He was replaced by Przemysław “Perła” Wejmann, a singing guitarist and the leader of Guess why. With Perła, the Acidos recorded three albums: “Amazing Atomic Activity”, “Broken Head” and “Acidofilia”. In the beginning of 2003 Perła left the band. His decision was a result of misunderstandings and contradictory conceptions concerning musical questions.

It took about a month to decide that the new guitarist would be Tomek “Lipa” Lipnicki, known from Illusion. Together with Lipa the band recorded the well received album “Rock Is not enough”. Over a year later, Lipa left for his new project Lipali. The guitar was taken over by Aleksander “Olass” Mendyk from None. The new musician quickly won himself the hearts of Acidos maniacs and plays with the guys up to this day. At the moment the band gigs a lot and is planning to record another full-length album.

Acid Drinkers are to this day the best and the most spectacular thrash metal band in Poland. During their long and eventful career they played over 500 concerts, including still well remembered gigs at Jarocin festival, Metalmania, Węgorzewo, Przystanek Woodstock or Odjazdy. They supported such metal giants as Deep Purple, Megadeth, Bruce Dickinson, Sepultura, Paradise Lost or Slayer. Their albums feature guest performances of Polish artists as Edyta Bartosiewicz, Kazik Staszewski, Tomek Lipnicki, Patrycja Kosiarkiewicz or Grzegorz Skawiński.

Acid Drinkers won the Fryderyk award (the Polish equivalent of the Grammy award) in 1998, 2000 and 2004 for the “Best Hard & Heavy Act”. In 1998 they also won the Złoty Bączek, an award given by the TV Channel 2 in the “Best Band” category. Together with Hey, Kazik Staszewski, Edyta Bartosiewicz and O.N.A. they were acclaimed the best five Polish bands of the 90s in a poll published in Tylko Rock, the most important rock magazine in Poland.

Crusher’s debut is history printed on vinyl. In terms of intentions and driving evolution, the French Metal scene was never the same after that. "Corporal Punishment" changed the stereotypes once and for all. Crusher's debut album is both effective and addictive in terms of brutality, energy and songwriting. This particular re-issue features an amazing re-designed artwork by Giannis "Remedy Art" Nakos and it's a must have for all extreme metal aficionados.

Onslaught are a British thrash metal band from Bristol, England, active from 1982 to 1991 and again since 2005. The band initially drew influence from US and British hardcore punk bands such as Discharge and The Exploited, and then adopted a straightforward thrash metal sound. They have been recognised as pioneers of the British thrash metal scene, and have been referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four", along with Sabbat, Xentrix and Acid Reign.

Brand new remastered version of PENTAGRAM legendary album Sub-Basement in new Colored Vinyl and with a brand new cover designed by Solo Macello.Doom is made out of 666 tons heavy riffing, vocals filled with pain, regret and spite as well as leaden song-structures stretched taut to the point of ripping. PENTAGRAM embody all those virtues like no other contender in this oldest of all genres of Metal being founded by none other than Black Sabbath. Many have named PENTAGRAM the true heirs of those originators of Heavy Metal and honourably dubbed them 'the American Black Sabbath'. In this sixth incarnation of the band, Doom lord Bobby Liebling had reunited with drummer Joe Hasselvander, who had already been a member of PENTAGRAM twice before. Hasselvander played all the instruments, while Liebling added his matchless vocals. "Sub-Basement" was the second output of this line-up and is regarded as the most Rock N' Roll effort of the doomsters ever. On top of PENTAGRAM's perfect Doom sound an irresistible groove and capturing catchiness was added, which made the album an all time favourite for many fans. "Sub-Basement" will kick your ass and twist your legs.

Brand new remastered version of PENTAGRAM legendary album Review Your Choices in new Colored Vinyl and with a brand new cover desgined by Mirkow Gastow.PENTAGRAM's fourth studio album "Review Your Choices" marked the band's sixth comeback after several changes of line-up and label. These acclaimed protagonists of Doom Metal proved once more indestructible by drug addiction, break ups, bad deals, jail terms, chronic illness, satanic blood sacrifices and various acts of self destruction. Main-man and singer Bobby Liebling has kept his band alive for over 35 years now and might easily be awarded the title of "longest serving cult band" - highly acclaimed by fans, press and fellow musicians alike. "Review Your Choices" marked the return of multi-instrumentalist Joe Hasselvander to join Bobby Liebling in his eternal quest of creating the heaviest sound possible. The album features a mix of re-recorded lost Liebling tracks from the 70's and stellar new numbers penned by Hasselvander, which gave "Review Your Choices" an extra heavy feeling. PENTAGRAM once again set a standard to be followed by such illustrious followers as Cathedral, Spirit Caravan, Goatsnake, St. Vitus, Trouble or High On Fire among many others. Dive down deep into gloom and despair with this classic Doom recording.

Yes, we are extremely pleased to announce the first ever real vinyl versions of “Mater of All Evil” and “Black as Pitch” from Italian Thrash (Deathrash) pioneers Necrodeath! The squadron started out back in 1984 and released two classic piece of razor-sharp Thrash metal in form of the albums “Into the Macabre” (1987) and “Fragments of Insanity” (1989). After a period of hibernation, Necrodeath reunited in the late 90s and released the third album “Mater of All Evil”* (2000) and fourth “Black as Pitch” (2001) shortly afterwards. Now, around 20 years later, I Hate will finally let all wax-lovers experience the albums in their prime! Style wise, Necrodeath has always stood for something unique: their brand of raw, skilful Thrash Metal. With the classic Italian occult aura permeating through the sound! For some name-dropping, think “Seven Churches”, Possessed, “South of Heaven”, Slayer, “Blood Fire Death”, Bathory, “The Awakening”, Merciless, “Anno Domini”, Tormentor.

For some name-dropping, think “Seven Churches”, Possessed, “South of Heaven”, Slayer, “Blood Fire Death”, Bathory, “The Awakening”, Merciless, “Anno Domini”, Tormentor.

"Embrace the Death", originally recorded in 1990 but released in 1996, is a crucial album in the discography of Asphyx, an iconic band in death metal. This album is an early testament to the brutal, raw sound the band is known for. The album shows the essence of death metal in its purest and unfiltered form. Characterized by heavy, gut-wrenching riffs, deep guttural vocals, and a crushing rhythm section, “Embrace the Death” is a journey into the darker, heavier side of metal. The production, although crude, perfectly captures the oppressive and somber atmosphere. This album is essential for any extreme metal fan looking to understand the roots and evolution of death metal. It's a fantastic Picture Disc edition limited to 475 copies!!
