American sludge metal band Buzzov•en was formed in 1990 by Kirk Fisher, Fred ‘Fuzzy’ Hutch and Scott Majors. The band was known for being one of the founders of the sludge genre. In 1994, Buzzov•en released their second studio album Sore. Lasting over an hour, this album perhaps has the most vicious, violent sound ever recorded, but in the purest and most honest way. Sore is a legendary Roadrunner cult release and features the tracks “Sore” and “Unwilling To Explain”.

We each have our own idea of what it means to live through a period filled with perpetual dread, a slowly burning world, and overwhelming darkness. In the case of Portrayal of Guilt, their tortuous afterlife comes with grief, loss, masochism, suffering, and pain. On Christfucker, their second full-length of 2021, Portrayal of Guilt plunges headfirst into unfathomable depths, creating a work of art that's powerfully unsettling. "We think of it partially in the sense of scoring a horror movie," guitarist/vocalist Matt King says. "We wanted to create an atmosphere of anxiety and fear." The entirety of Christfucker is set to unrelenting, nihilistic, howling soundscapes, created by King, drummer James Beveridge, and bassist, Alex Stanfield. Each track tells a story set in the darkest of settings for the listener to interpret and explore. *Beginning with the ominous "The Sixth Circle," which features King shrieking over hypnotic guitar patterns and a thudding rhythm, the band eventually roars to life with a tyrannical blast, delving you further into its oppressive heaviness. On "Bed of Ash," the band plumb new depths while exploring the mechanistic gnashings of industrial drum and bass. And getting there has been a journey. “We started out talking about the vision we all had in mind of what we wanted to do this time around. How we wanted the instruments to sound, the way we wanted to orchestrate and arrange the music, how we wanted it to be played, what kind of energy and landscape we were looking to capture and how we wanted the production to reflect our music. We met each day for two weeks sketching out rough ideas and demos for a song a day. Then the process of selecting the pieces we wanted to develop into songs. It was a big part to have the pieces available on our phones, so when we were out-and-about we could listen to them and get a sense if it worked or not. It was often decided if the hook was memorable or if one of us had an idea on how to develop the track further” - Navian Whilst working on Cosmos it was essential for Navian to stay open in their approach to the music and let it form freely. Stepping away from the stereotypical purist thought pattern that often rule the genre. The album is as such a result of the individual members combined background and influences, where their unified love for modern progressive metal meets and entwines with elements from pop, hip hop, and jazz. On their fifth sonic assault, "svartrviðr", King OF Asgard maintain the perfect balance between the grim and the epic, darkness and twilight while keeping their sound crushing and stripped down to essentials. The blackened death veterans deliver an example of Swedens classic style at the border of harsh and evocative Nordic blackness and the captivating epic melodies of their homelands death metal. Founded in 2008 in Mjölby, Östergötland, the band rose from the ashes of cult act Mithotyn. With their first three albums "Fímbulvintr" (2010), "...to North" (2012), and "Karg" (2014), King OF Asgard firmly established themselves as a powerful presence in their scene. Due to their lyrical topics and visuals relating to local and Norse myths and sagas, runic writing and art styles as well as the occasional use of traditional melodies, the Swedes are sometimes categorised as Viking or pagan metal. Yet, King OF Asgard clearly went their own way and with a marked penchant for story-telling at epic length, they forcefully claimed a musical realm of their own. The release of "taudr" in 2017 put fresh wind into the sails of King OF Asgard with the arrival of new members, who were armed with invigorating enthusiasm and great talent, which some of them also prove in Vanhelgd. This new line-up remains stable and has worked hard to explore their new creative and musical opportunities to the full. Teaming up with Magnus "Devo" Andersson, who could easily claim the title of MARDUKs house producer, the Swedes made sure to maintain a black twist to their individual sound. Now, King OF Asgard invite you to explore the dark secrets of the Viking world and those glimpses at ancient rituals that lurk deep within Old Norse writings.
