Having played with the likes of influential movers and shakers on the anarcho-punk scene Antisect and Icons of Filth, on their first full-length LP, Birmingham’s Sacrilege established themselves as a unique force to be reckoned with, wreaking havoc on what we could classify as sonic tropes belonging to a spectrum of subgenres dealing in the extremes: hardcore, doom, and thrash. Fronted by Lynda ‘Tam’ Simpson and her seizure-inducing spells injected with a fierce, sociopolitical-cum-mythopoeic banshee bite (but not wanting to understate the line-up of Damian Thompson on guillotine-quick/milkshake thick guitars) - the six-track onslaught is every bit as crushing as the title suggests. From depraved dungeon synth-scapes on opener Lifeline to the planet-flattening funeral toll of The Closing Irony, one question remains: One riff to rule them all? Yes.

Hirax is back in print as it was meant to be. A blistering slab of crossover/thrash/speed metal that was able to bridge the gap between the straight up metal audience and the embryonic "Crossover" hardcore/punk era that was evolving in 1985. Hirax was always fast, rough and raw, they blasted forward with energy and relentless speed. Katon delivered traditional metal style singing with upper registers often only used by Mercyful Fate or Judas Priest. Unique and uncompromising in their attack, Hirax played with bands across the heavy music spectrum in the L.A. scene and cemented their legacy with fans worldwide with a prolific amount of interviews, correspondence and tape trading. They built a fan base with a true DIY style dedication. That legacy continues today. We're happy to have this record back on its original format for old heads and new fans alike. Play it loud! Original front cover art photographed and restored by Hillarie Jason. Audio has been freshly mastered and cut for vinyl by Nick Townsend. Pressed on colored vinyl and housed in heavy board jackets with printed inner sleeve.

Includes a fanzine styled booklet collecting a lot of rare gig flyers, photos, scans of the original cassette. Recommended to fans of “What’s the truth?”-era S.O.B., Roserose, Genoa and Satanic Hell Slaughter.
