Klättermusen Bags

Founded in 1975, Klättermusen is a brand of highly functional mountaineering equipment that combines durability and environmental friendliness with innovative designs. The brand’s mission is to support outdoor enthusiasts in extreme weather conditions and unpredictable situations. With each of its designs, Klättermusen aims to meet the demands of real adventurers while minimizing the environmental footprint.

The history of Klättermusen is characterized by a strong commitment to sustainability. The company was established by a group of local mountaineers in a small workshop in the picturesquely located Swedish mountain village of Åre. There, customized technical solutions were developed to meet the challenges of the mountains. In the 1980s, Klättermusen became a brand that provides outdoor enthusiasts with highly functional equipment. The pioneering spirit of the founding years remains at the heart of the company to this day.

Klättermusen products are tested under realistic conditions and provide outdoor enthusiasts with support and inspiration when they are confronted with unforgiving weather conditions and unpredictable terrain. These tests embody Klättermusen’s commitment to providing the best possible and most sustainable equipment on the market.

Since its inception, Klättermusen has been continuously committed to minimizing its impact on the environment. The brand considers the durability of its materials from a full life cycle perspective to ensure that its designs are as long-lasting as possible. Klättermusen’s philosophy for avoiding environmental pollution is the same today as it was in the year the company was founded: to repair equipment until it falls apart and to constantly work to improve its designs.

Klättermusen is constantly exploring new ways to reuse raw materials, developing innovative production processes and improving the usability of its products. By using consumer waste and focusing on durability, Klättermusen creates incredibly durable climbing equipment that meets the highest standards of professional mountaineering.

The brand’s stated goal is to make the most durable and long-lasting equipment. This functional approach led to the development of the company’s own materials and manufacturing techniques for sustainable, high-performance fabrics. In 2006, Klättermusen switched entirely to organic cotton and since 2009 has used only nylon made from recycled fishing nets for all backpacks. In the same year, the company’s own recycling system was launched. In the fall of 2017, Klättermusen was the first outdoor brand to launch a completely fluorocarbon-free collection.

By constantly striving to improve and make its products more sustainable, Klättermusen makes it easier for both its customers and suppliers to act responsibly towards nature, wildlife and humanity.
