In harmony with the strongly grooving instrumental framework by Tokyo-based Jazz trio Nautilus, them all together create their own refreshing version of the original and catapult the song into the present.

On the B-side the »Pacific Voyage« album song »What You Won't Do For Love«, an absolutely classic by Bobby Caldwell which was sampled by 2 Pac and Aaliyah gets the Nautilus treatment, in this case a funky forward 90's feel remix with heavy basslines for big soundsystem by Amsterdam-based, keyboardist, DJ & producer Soul Supreme. The vocals are sung by uprising Japanese star R&B and Soul singer-songwriter Ryuto Kasahara who worked together with Grooveman Spot and DJ Mitsu The Beats on this latest releases.

The saxophonist who performed for the protagonist Dai Miyamoto in the animated film "blue Giant" is currently one of the most notable figures in the Japanese jazz scene. This major debut album, his third overall, is co-produced with Bigyuki. After graduating from Berklee College of Music and working in New York, he played with Takuya Kuroda's band, "J-Squad." Upon returning to Japan, he gained significant attention for his saxophone performance in the 2023 animated film "blue GIANT." This highly anticipated major debut album features a trio format with saxophone, keyboard, and drums, and includes all original songs written specifically for this project. The album highlights the remarkable chemistry between him and Bigyuki, showcasing a total sound that is both unique and captivating. The saxophonist's growth, influenced by his participation in "blue GIANT," is evident throughout the album. Joining him and Bigyuki in the trio is JK Kim, a Korean drummer based in New York. Additionally, ermhoi, Yusuke Sase, and Kei Kogane participate as guest artists on select tracks. Translated to the free-spirited jazz rock of the band Kuhn Fu: the music on the new album Katastrofik Kink Machine jumps back and forth between green and red with enthusiasm and verve, leaving out the tepid middle. There is something old-fashioned about the word jazz rock: music in which soulless virtuosity has replaced spirit and immediacy. Teratai Åkande' explores electronic techniques transforming sounds, melodies, and rhythms from balinese gamelan. It's an interaction and synthesis of acoustic and electronic expressions, exploring an imagined territory between two otherwise separate cultural worlds.

On 'Teratai Åkande' the Copenhagen-based producer and electronic musician Anton Friisgaard travels new paths, as he explores gamelan music from his own artistic perspective in close collaboration with Balinese musicians, afliated with Ubud’s acclaimed Gamelan scene. After experiencing a concert with the Gamelan ensemble 'Gamelan Salukat' at Roskilde Festival in 2018, Friisgaard became inspired to contact Dewa Alit from the ensemble. With the aim of bringing forth a unique expression through the meeting of two distinct musical traditions, Friisgaard traveled to Ubud, Bali to record, compose and improvise in close collaboration with artists from the esteemed Gamelan scene in Ubud. The result is 'Teratai Åkande', which features Pande Made Gangga Sentana, I Nyoman Suwida, Dewa Badukz, Suryana Putra and Pande Made Gangga of Gamelan Salukat.

Anton Friisgaard (fka Hviledag) is an electronic producer and musician based in Copenhagen. Known primarily for his experimental work with tape loops and ambient soundscapes, he’s become an established figure both in the Danish music scene as well as internationally.

Composed, edited and processed in Copenhagen, Denmark from 2018 - 2024. Here, the recordings and compositions changed shape multiple times over the years, until finally reaching their current state.`

'Portico Quartet / Hania Rani brings the singular Polish pianist and composer, Hania Rani, and East-London based widescreen minimalists, Portico Quartet, together for a unique collaboration. The idea was simple, each artist would rework one of each other's tunes. The result is a beautiful collaborative work that feel less like straight forward remixes and more like a new recording that brings the two acts distinctive sound worlds to a new place. The first track to be shared is Hania Rani - Nest (Portico Quartet remix), which finds Portico Quartet reworking a track from Hania's most recent album Home. Portico Quartet saxophonist and keyboardist Jack Wyllie says: "We've been fans of Hania since her first album album Esja, so it was a pleasure to get to work with her. Our remix took fragments of her voice and piano, and from that we extrapolated and composed an almost entirely new piece of music. The result was (hopefully) that her sound world became another instrument in the band…"

The Norwegian jazz-rock quartet The Verge met at the legendary Norwegian jazz school NTNU, and did their first concerts in 2019. The band consists of four still up-and-coming musicians who are all active members of the Norwegian and European jazz, improv and rock scene. Emil, Aksel, Alf and Ingvald have, as The Verge, only done some humble touring in Norway until this point, but recorded a truly vital and original album in Duper Studio in 2021. This was done with the aspiring young producer Vegard Lemme, and the album is now being released on the also Bergen-based label Is It Jazz? Records.The album consists of seven original tracks composed by the different members of the band, which all sound very different from each other. Sonic landscapes that vary from fiery melodic jazz music to hysterical prog rock, atmospheric free-improvisation and heavy riffs are what define The Verge’s debut record. When The World Was One is something of a companion piece to Matthew Halsall"s 2012 album Fletcher Moss Park (much of the music was written at the same time) but draws more explicitly on Halsall"s love of spiritual jazz and Eastern music as well as his own studies in meditation and travels in Japan. The saxophonist Phillip Dornbusch and his band Projektor want to draw the audience's attention to music that was created in moments when people, past and present, have not lived in a democracy, have not lived in freedom. Most of the pieces on the third Projektor album, titled Revolt, are based on songs that were composed in Iran and Estonia and were sung during the uprisings against the Islamic Republic and the Soviet regime. On their two previous albums "Reflex" (2021) and "Re|Construct" (2023), the five musicians were already playing with great natural surety. Johanna Summer (p), Johannes Mann (g), Roger Kintopf (b) and Philip Adrian Dornbusch (dr) organise themselves around melodies and themes mostly carried by Dornbusch's saxophone, digressing, then returning again to let another instrument, another idea, another timbre come to the fore. This interaction has reached a new level on Revolt.
