What began as competition between two hip hop producers turned into a 30 day beat making challenge from Seattle’s Paces Lift and St. Louis’ Ben Bounce. The result became the framework for their collaboration LP, Quick Trigger. Two years of fine tuning, mixing and mastering and their masterpiece was finally ready for consumption. The result is fourteen lo-fi, psychedelic, beat driven tracks sprinkled with bits of spaghetti western and old vinyl crackle.

Poly Poly are back with their second album “polytheism”!

Continuing their collaboration, Hans “Hu$tle” Heusterberg & Jona “Volt Age” Raischl delve deeper into the details and layers of the fabric that makes up their common musical space.

Synthesizing and refining their musical vision over the last three years, the duo used a plethora of different instruments. Old keyboards, various string instruments, samplers as well as live drums shape the sonics of this album, resulting in a unique sound. Akari Raheem is the brainchild of Lito Akari and F. Raheem. Their album ‘Lost in Variations‘ is a collaboration between two old friends equipped with keys, synths, beats and one restriction: no samples.

Everything is connected: using piano as the primary instrument, the album’s recurring themes, interpretations and variations are reminiscent of library and soundtrack music, incorporating the duo’s own touch of the current zeitgeist in jazz and electronic beats.

Lito Akari, with roots in Istanbul and Berlin, where he is part of the Block Opera artist collective, has been successfully releasing beat-based instrumental music for some years now, starting with the vinyl release of his debut album ‘Time Is Only Space And Sky Is Not The Limit‘. Based in Stuttgart (ger), he has worked with influential artists like Dexter and Smoke Trees, to name just a few.

F. Raheem is a composer and producer of contemporary instrumental music living in Basel (ch).

Shuko´s new LP is something different. He and the producer Basti (Kanye West, Joey Badass, Timbaland) spent the last 3 years creating samples, learning vintage recordings and putting their knowledge of vintage soul jazz, 60´s and 70´s composer and r&b music into crafting this 31 track album. What makes this release so special is that you now are able to use those samples for your own music and recreating something new without the hustle and pain of clearing samples. Raised in Bath, based in London, Mo Fingaz has been DJing multi-genre sets since the early noughties at clubs & festivals across the UK and Europe. Primarily a project that delivers crisp crunchy boom bap, with heavy doses of jazz and soul, and nods to various other genres throughout. The rhodes-laden ‘Groove Definition’ sets the tone, leading into an interpolation of a classic; one simply called ‘Reggie’. ‘Timecode’ raises up the Sp1200 bit-crush levels some more, whilst tracks like ‘Astro’ and the album closer ’Netta’ take things a little deeper. The lead track ‘Gusto’ delivers skippier half-time jungle funk drums, with live bass played by his father and guitar by J-Felix atop the track. ‘Thirty-Eight’ and ‘1991 Broadway’ harp back to classic jazzhop of the golden era, whilst ‘Booooj’ adds a little dancehall swagger into the equation, before the classy string section of ‘Uptown’ swings into play. This album is unashamedly one to nod your head to, and not one to be sleeping on. ‘Gusto’ is Mo Fingaz first full-length project; a 15 track collection of beats and compositions produced over the past two years. Lo-fi hip hop instrumentals crafted together with love, analog drum machines, samplers, live instruments and dusty old vinyl. After being sat on these beats for a minute, it finally feels like time to let them off into the ether.

Fiendsh returns to Cold Busted with Hayashi Reborn, the Bangkok-based producer’s long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s To The End. The title refers to the Hayashi, a group of instrumentalists in Japanese Noh theater. Noh often revolves around themes of life, so with this album the Fiendsh alter-ego takes on the role of the Hayashi of the young beat-producer’s life. The album’s sounds are introspective and rich, combining deep rhythms and warm melodies. Sometimes a hint of Fiendsh’s Thai culture drops in, but mostly the influences are straight from the well of hip-hop, soul, and jazz classics.

" I’ve started to work on this album before I knew it. During June 2018 I was in Japan for a month to release my previous album « Cairn » as well as my first solo exhibition of drawings in Tokyo.

Everyday on my way to the gallery I passed in front of the same building, its name kept haunting me.

Back then I was digging for cheap 80’s Japanese CD’s in second hand stores. Most of them set the tone of this album and the direction I wanted to follow. I feel there’s a direct connection between these original sources and the sound I pursue by their meditative aspect.

Most of the demo songs were done before my daughter’s birth on August 2019 and were finalized since then. Many of the titles refer to this main event and relate to how it changed my position in life : being a link through time by becoming a father. "
