After a six year hiatus Twardowski returns with his fourth album on U Know Me Records. The newest outing is a retrofuturistic trip to the author's two biggest influences: instrumental hip-hop and… video games. The new album eschews Twardowski's previous synth-heavy style in favor of multiple layers of chopped and mended together samples, topped off by cuts from U Know Me's own jazz guitarist/turntablist Żyńy. The album invokes video games with the track titles, the LP's title being a homage to coin-ops and via the overall sound: wonky, heavily shuffled, almost-out-of-sync rhythms sounding almost as if the tracks were done sampler in one hand gamepad in the other, over a lengthy, laid back gaming/sequencing session. Maybe if a gamepad was a sampler and instrumental hip-hop was a game, "One Coin Clear" could have been its soundtrack.

This child happens to be held captive by a group called the Shizuka clan, A Yakuza organization that is known to capture orphans, for human trafficking. They tend to only move in silence, during the night hence the reason why the Ntpd are unable to locate them until now. The Ntpd was able to find the child last location, at the Namba club through the club’s security cameras. Anansi has approximately 13 minutes to retrieve the child, failure to do so would mean that the child would be lost in the underworld forever. The countdown, starts, NOW.

Dobrevtsi, located in the Lovech Province, has a population of less than 500 and is home to some pretty good rakia (a national drink you must try) based on our short, but sweet interaction with one of the locals.

This time the weather wasn’t on our side (4 days of non-stop rain), but that’s the beauty of those experiences – you go with the flow. He is known for his atmospheric instrumental production which incorporates sound elements from extensive use of jazz and soul samples. "If you were to grab tracks at random from Bloomsday, you might not have guessed that those songs came from the same album. However, when you listen to the album in the way that it was arranged, it will all start to make sense, and you can start to hear how Esbe connects the dots from one song to the next. Esbe draws from a lot of different styles and influences, whether it be soul, hard bop, cool jazz, bossa nova, boom bap, down tempo, jungle, house, or drum and bass, just to name a few. This might sound like he’s unfocused or trying to do too much with his music, but Esbe has a good sense for not overcrowding his individual tracks. Each song might bring in a couple of different elements, but he keeps his arrangements clean, with just the right amount of interesting samples to build from, and the patience to let them unfold at a steady pace, without forcing anything.
