Mad Monk is John Terrill, original member of the late '70s new/no wave Dancing Cigarettes and veteran of many stripped down Hoosier groups since. Marking the start of an exciting new collaborative project, Wolf + Lamb proudly share the debut release of The Waves & Us. Formed out of a creative meeting of minds between Maayan Nidam, Markus Nikolaus and Louis McGuire, theirs is a sound that strengthens the storied approach of a live band with the experimental thrust of analogue electronics. Pop and rock fundamentals lend an earthly hook to the tracks, but these are anything but straight-forward songs. Maayan has already forged a formidable career in electronic music, both under her own name and as part of Mara Trax, scoring releases on such celebrated labels as Perlon. Markus performs his own solo project Cunt Cunt Chanel, while Louis is part of Ballet School, a band releasing on noted indie label Bella Union. The whirlwind of creativity that has whipped up around the trio has yielded an album which will follow this single, made up of one-take recordings that capture the energy and adventure that powers The Waves & Us. Maayan's electronics provide the atmospheric backdrop to the songs, running modular synthesisers and drum machines through detailed chains of processing and effects with an emphasis on a warm, charmingly rough finish. Markus' guitar undergoes a similar fuzzy treatment while his voice calls out introspective, abstract lyrics to set the mind racing. Louis' bass underpins the music with a dubby sensibility, bringing a necessary balance to the frequency range. Making the most of their in-the-room recording approach, the singles will feature alternative takes of the songs that will appear on the album, providing a little insight into the flutters and fluctuations that shape the development of this project. With their eyes fixed on live performances and an arresting sound already formed, this is a vital time for all three artists and the people that listen to them.

On October 18th, 2011, Jeff The Brotherhood were joined by William Tyler (Tompkins Square), Loney Hutchins (Cleft Records) and Joey Plunket in recording Volume 3 of the Upstairs at United series. Each song in this session was recorded in a single take direct to 1/4 inch tape then cut at 45 RPM for the ultimate listening experience.

Jeff The Brotherhood, the sibling duo of Jake & Jamin Orrall show their prog rock side on this recording. While the recording consists of only three songs those songs totalled enough time that they rocked out until they literally ran out of tape (as can be heard at the end of ''In Space No One Can Hear You Scream, Part II').' While traditionally a two piece, Jeff The Brotherhood, was joined in this session by William Tyler on guitar, Loney Hutchins on keys and crazy space sounds, and Joey Plunket on bass. The recording features an 11 minute version of tour favorite ''I'm A Freak'' (Wicked Lady), an 11 minute cover of Hawkwind's ''Master Of The Universe'' and the 8 minute improvisational jam ''In Space No One Can Hear You Scream''.

BRONZE is an exercise in impulse. BRONZE is also the San Francisco based trio of Brian Hock, Rob Spector, and Miles Friction the latest addition to the RVNG Intl. family with their debut album, "Copper". Stream-of-consciousness lyrical cooing and restrained analog trickery rest atop constant cog rotation grooves on "Copper". These elements yield a truly conductive album, abundant in compositions that beg for a listener's oxidizing ear. Commencing with "A Showdown Of Sorts", the record assumes a vague narrative aided by the allure of Tuxedomoon / Ralph Records-y exoticism, albeit less claustrophobic. "Showing Them" staggers into even Wierd-er territory, with eye flashes and spots of Legendary Pink Dots. "So Slow" and "The Rouge Became" are sister tracks fallen not far from the same Silver Apple(s) tree. So there is a new tenant in the Jean-Claude Vannier residence. The discreet type, but rather noisy. Fuzz guitars, wild farfisa, bass lines mixed well ahead in the Burgalat tradition, flutes playing, horse cavalcades on Miguel El Salam, 'Rhapsode' is such a huge indoor Western shot by the ORTF ( 64's to 74's French Broadcasting Authority TV) that sometimes we expect to see Jean-Christophe Averty spring out from an enclosure, holding both a camera and a joint. But again, clothes dont make the man. The name Forever Pavot was not born of an apology of drugs: "It started as a joke. One day I read too fast a "flower power" poorly written on a school pencil case. It made me laugh", said Emile. The result is worth all these sleepless nights: where others merely copy the past, Emile stacks up sound, rehabilitates the harpsichord in this narrow world that has become pop music. He composes arranged pieces (Electric Mami) that give the impression of hearing 'Strawberry Fields Forever' sung by Zombies. After an initial 45 rpm, 'Christophe Columb', which he produced in the spring of 2013, and which was"distributed free with chocolates" and then repressed by Frantic City, the story of Forever Pavot begins to take shape around a new group.

Developed over six years of prototyping, he fully realised the Moodswinger for them with commissions from numerous other musicians to follow. Yuri has custom built derivatives for such musical luminaries as Sonic Youth, Half Japanese, Enon, Lou Barlow, dEUS, The Dodos, Blood Red Shoes,Liars, HEALTH, Liam Finn, The Luyas, The Veils, Melt- Banana, Micachu & The Shapes, The Go! Four-piece post-punk group Ought has been gathering momentum the old-fashioned way, with a humble and deceptively unassuming debut album that's been worming its way into many many ears thanks to its combination of intelligence, authenticity, directness, simplicity and energy; and with live performances in which the band's channeling of genuine passion, politics and charisma are consistently connecting with and exuberantly galvanizing audiences.

Released in April 2014, More Than Any Other Day was showered with accolades. Since then the band has been mostly on the road, racking up tour dates and ramping up the attack on their existing songbook. Discussion of a tour-only release that would grab a couple of the band's self-recorded early tunes and commit them to vinyl shifted by the end of spring towards a realization that Ought might update this material to reflect how the songs have evolved on stage and in concert. Menic's music is rooted in the musical traditions around the NORTHERN ATLANTIC and the DEEP BLUES, which you find up and down the Mississippi... he always performed and worked with many bands, friends and artists of various musical genres, like PUNK, CAJUN, STONER ROCK, IRISH FOLK and BLUEGRASS, e.g. ZENO TORNADO, THE DEAD BROTHERS, MAMA ROSIN, DELANEY DAVIDSON, THE TIGHT FINKS etc. All these influences shine through on this first full-length album wehre he invited also guest musicians like Magot and Satch from Zeno Tornado and the Bony Google Brothers, CHESSY WEAVER (PHON ROLL, ZÜRI WEST) on vocals, RESLI BURRI from Dead Brothers on Hammond, and Cyril Yeterian from MAMA ROSIN on accordion. He recorded at STAR TRACK STUDIOS with GUZ (Aeronauten) and Caliber Studios by ADI FLÜCK, mastering did ERIC MERZ . MENIC, a MODERN TROUBADOUR SINGER , only him and his guitar is already enough on stage. His songs put you into places that you've never been, but feel you've always known. He turns his story into fiction so you might remember your own, and shows the dark side of his heart so you might find some peace.
